What are your thoughts on a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro4x and these trails? Which trails are a go, and which should be avoided in the Nissan?

If the hype is that it’s a nice gravel forest road; then yes, it lives up to the hype.

It looks like you have a stock height (I'm guessing) '14 Rubicon X since it looks like a Hard Rock Package but doesnt say Hard Rock on the hood. Looks like you are running 285/70/17 if so? Reason I'm asking is I have a bone stock JKUR Recon which is basically the same other than the tires and I'm trying to gauge if I feel comfortable tackling Daniel or not as it sits. If you are all stock underneath, I probably can make it work. If you have a small lift, I'll probably wait until I get my lift/wheel/tires/armor in a few years. Thanks!

All I can think about is how you retrieved the camera after going thru the water crossing, did you reverse thru it, turn around and drive forward thru it, or hike thru the water on foot to get it? Either way awesome dedication to make an awesome video.

You stated it has '79 Dana 44. I am guessing this would be a 449F with reverse cut gears?

Awesome truck man! I feel like the full size bronco springs are a little too heavy on the spring rate for a ranger. Probably elinates the need for any need for a swaybar though.

New subscriber here, and new JL owner. I've been looking around for nearby trails to enjoy my Jeep off the pavement. I've heard about Old NC-105. It looks like a lot of fun. I think it's about an hour or so from home here northern SC. I am not far from Charlotte, NC.

I used to live in Morganton we used to hit brown mt all the time this was 9 years ago im sure the place is overrun with people now we used to go in a Tacoma on 35s and a 6 in lift and could do it all. Oh and wisemans view if you camp there im pretty sure you may get lucky and see the brown mt lights if you dont know what that is look it up you will be amazed nat geo did a thing on them its either UFOs or something paranormal either way its creepy.

All those static shots of your driving by are great, it they must take so much time to set up. I personally would rather just see more of the track as you’re going through it.

Can an average AWD suv handle this?

Nice adventure across north Georgia. Enjoyed the vicarious ride along. When it comes to meal time, I cheat alot too with backpacker meals. The guy you pulled outta the ditch did have to have a Bama tag on the front of his pickumup truck 🙄😉. But good on you!

Nice to see someone doing a solo trip on the Georgia Traverse, instead of all those done in convoys and caravans. There is a channel based out of Kentucky and he is almost with two or more vehicles in his videos. When I go camping/backpacking/overlanding I love the solitude. I'm planning on doing the Georgia Traverse, along with the Big Frog Loop this Fall (2023).

Does the vehicle has to be in start ?

Oh man, Daniel was my fav trail to climb. Had a near stock Rubi other than 35’s and managed it pretty well. Obviously you can’t attack everything head on but if you take your time and are smart about it you keep shouldn’t have an issue in my opinion. I’m in Florida now and sadly we are lacking in the rock crawling arena.

When I was stationed in NC I’d take my JK every weekend out there. I had minimal modifications and didn’t really have much trouble traversing the obstacles. Had a BLAST! At the time I had a 08 two door JK rubicon, 35 inch tires, 2 inch lift, LOD bumpers with front stinger, warn power plant winch and ARB diff covers. That stinger saved me one time going down a ledge lol. I’d say if you are planning crawling at least invest in some differential covers/armor. I’ve seen a lot of guys come off a ledge or rock and just BAM!, slam their diff right into a rock. Those stock diff covers can be pretty thin and that’s fairly unhealthy to be taking rocks directly to your drive train.

Great vid, we don't have many parks here where I live, but we have "backroad trails" which are like those but technically labeled as seasonal 4x4 roads. No fun rocks unfortunately, but I do get to enjoy the lovely rain, snow, and mud of the Northeast Coast :)

One thing to be aware about when going to UWharrie for "off-roading" purposes......NOT MANY brain cells prevalent on those trails as you just witnessed with the Jeep "roll-over" mishap shown in this video. There's been many folks hurt and "life-flighted" out of there, over the many years, because of the "RED-NECK" inhabitants all around that region that just don't possess good 'ol fashioned "COMMON SENSE!" I reside not far from this popular National Park attraction and have lived in this area for almost 20 years. I used to take my dirtbike and hit the trails numerous times for many years. Not no more.....way to many "SAUCED-UP" fools on 4-wheelers on them trails, unfortunately. All I can say is......keep your "HEAD-ON-A-SWIVEL" when riding anywhere on them trails.....words of wisdom!!!

I know you didn't get to do the daniel hardest trail, but it sounds like you have before. Is it doable for a tacoma w/rear locker on 33s with sliders and skids? I'm planning to go with a few guys next week but I've never been and they're on 37s, so feeling a bit out gunned and dont know what to expect. I appreciate any feedback.

Super peaceful trip! All we need is a can-do vehicle and a can-do spirit. The rest is just eating sandwiches and enjoying the silence. How do you handle gasoline during overlanding trips?
