China VS. India - What the media doesn't understand

Bloomberg recently made a video about India overtaking China's economy. Like how most western media covers the topic, Bloomberg made the two economies appear similar, and the two countries destined to be rivals. This is a great oversimplification and shows our problem with our China and India media coverage.

@akshaykumarak8735 China is only one country of one ethnic people of nearly 95% Hans speaking one tongue , the Mandarin . It has totalitarian Govt governed by One Party viz the Communist Party , which does not give any Fundamental Rights to its people . India is a country of countries of different ETHNIC people, speaking different tongues , forcefully bound by the Constitution of India . Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru wisely chose Parliamentary Form of Democracy for India offering Fundamental Rights to all the ethnic people and the Right to Elect the Govt of Choice . In China you would have disappeared for making a statement agaist their Founding Fathers.

It boils down to America wanting to stay top dog . It became top because of two world wars by selling weapons to the allies at exorbitant prices. It is doing the same in Ukraine and hopes to repeat it in Taiwan. China wont attack Taiwan like Russia attacked Ukraine, unless Taiwan declares independence. Sanctions don’t appear to be working at present. Sanctions on Russia have backfired against Europe killing its industries much to the delight of America

Hindia has never been a global power or global economic power. Hindia may have very high total GDP but thats because it has a very large population, but its per capita GDP is extremely low. China's total yearly growth is more than Hindia's, percentage of growth means nothing when the base is small to begin with. Hindia has no global influence in any way, unlike China.

Anybody who's been to both India and China cannot compare the two countries at all. Despite high economic growth, the inequality, social backwardness and poverty in India was shocking to see. In terms of infrastructure and innovation, China is miles ahead by far. Having said that, in the next 50 years, i reckon China will be the undisputed global economic superpower with India following. It has been like that for centuries.

Sarah CM Payne is 100% right. China is not a friendly trading nation wanting to be part of the Global system. Thats been tried & failed. China is a brutal hegemonic imperial power that doesn’t want to trade in peace. Under Xi it wants to dominate & if it can’t dominate destroy. Anyone that hasn’t learned that is dense. Brain cells aren’t firing correctly.

I watched about half of that long interview and had to stop because many of her statements simply regurgitate Western narratives and she doesn't provide verifiable references. It's just too painful to watch for me. Dwarkesh is even worse and he advertises his channel as "deeply researched" interviews. I've experienced China spanning 5 decades and would recommend writings or interviews of people like Samuel B Griffith (US Marine Corp General, PhD, and translator of The Art of War in 1962), Prof. Chalmers Johnson (could read/write Chinese and Japanese, author of the Blow Back Trilogy), Ambassador Chas Freeman, Prof. Wang Gungwu, Prof. Ezra Vogel (could read & write Chinese and Japanese). It's deeply disturbing that the abhorrently dark history of the US and Western powers is completely left out when vilifying China and others who are truly sovereign from Western control. Have you read American Holocaust by David Stannard? Besides what the US did to Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria, there are graphic documentaries of what the US did in Vietnam and Laos. Just search for "American Holocaust"... As for Taiwan, the PRC only has to look at Cuba and what the US did to it if they want to punish Taiwan.

One big difference between China and India has been the quality of leadership and to someone looking in from outside, at least as far as the Chinese and their material fortunes are concerned, China has had much much better leadership. For our self respect which got destroyed during 2 centuries of Humiliating Colonisation . Not even one generation has passed since india gained its independence . We spent 50-60 years to rebuild our country from scratch after 200 years of destruction . Now we have just started to grow . This is our battle . For our cause .
