Tencent owns a large stake in riot. I am fearful of the day they suggest a minor change in the anti cheat that now has 100% control of my pc. Additionally, anything kernel level has the ability to make calls and requests to the hardware itself which can be very, very difficult to detect. Just because it didn’t send capturable wire shark data today, tomorrow, or the next day, doesn’t mean it won’t in the future. Oops I left league running in my pc and went to the store better hope vanguard didn’t commit espionage. Or the hackers scenario too; the ransomware headline would be hilarious to read as I try to recover my data.

im glad i uninstalled league. It had the most lag and drops in network connection than any other online game i have played. These recent changes to league make it seem like its too little too late at this point. Vanguard is too intrusive, it will be bypassed at some point and they will be back to square one. This game is on its last leg and i give it another few years before it shuts down completely.

Started installing after having the game uninstalled for a couple of months, saw "vanguard uninstalling and will require a restart", so I just stopped the installation and removed everything. Thanks for helping me not play this piece of shit game again.

Running language models (ai) locally requires a lot of resources. When vanguard is running it takes me approx. 50% more time to compute. This is not okay for me. Even if there is no league, valorant or riot client running.

My league wouldn't let me get into the game after picking champ phase and always said "Internet connection lost".. I updated my gpu driver and I could play again wtf !!!

pc crashes ever since I installed vanguard in games and i have a very new expensive computer so its not hardware issue.

From cant get into the game after champion selection to sudden high ping to completely cant play the game because vanguard fail to start... Im done with lol

Ever since the launch of Vangaurd my game freezes randomly mid match anywhere from 4-28seconds. It is so bad that i had to start playing auto attack champs so when i do freeze hopefully i can do something other than stand there and look like im afk during team fights or while clearing jungle creeps. Game is border line unplayable without freezing about 5-15% of the match length. Thanks Rito.

I'm too paranoid someone at riot will tilt and decide to abuse Vanguard before quitting. Or that someone from outside will breach into Riot again. You better have a 2FA for every account you can't afford to lose if you're installing that. Same goes for many popular games with similar anticheats. At least ones that can run while I'm doing stuff other than play.

ever since i installed vanguard ... my mouse sometimes gets stucks on someone and i cant move or do anything except spell the target and die .... some other times i get like 10 procces of league open on their own and i crash then cannot reconnect while my internet is up and youtube running doesnt let me reconnect .. happends more than once a game .. get random leavers on top, pretty sure they got programs to kick you off game and dont allow you to reconnect haha

The problem is on both sides. The game or devs that are trying to get into competitive gaming either arent willing or don't understand that you will most likely be losing money to put on big high production events along with the organizations that jump and want to either pay for a spot or go through all the tournaments to earn a spot in whatever league is being made...... everyone just wants to skip the growing pains that CounterStrike and all the others that actually make money now went through. Or its all just a scam and everyone is jist looking to be in on the next exit scam that comes around.

I have first hand experience of vanguard messing with my PC. One day I started getting BSOD at random times, I couldn't figure out why as the bsod itself was glitchd, but the dump windows creates after a crash always pointed towards the kernel, still couldn't figure out why. One day after 2-3 months of experiencing this, I just randomly decided to exit Vanguard and my pc immediately crashed; I had stumbled upon the reason for the crashes.

All I can say is, vanguard cannot access Hardware, so, if you wanna hack, you still can and quite cgeaply.

Riot game just don't even care about players anymore.. thye became greedy andworking on stuff that was not the real problem at first... I sent many tickets to Riot about this, my old board wouldn't be able to activate TPM 2.0.. even with a a tpm module.. they would never answer anything. they simply don't care.. FIXING the ranked trolls would be a start.. 1-2 games on 10 in normals I would get trolls and griefers.. but in ranked its like 2-3 games on 5. Riot is basically farming all kind of ads. they just.. don't care..

I quitted League after 11 years. I won't ever come back to it unless they remove the condition of vanguard launching on startup. Suggest everyone to do the same

I've had vanguard since valorant came out. i always aknowlage if I'm going to play league or Valorant and close vanguard if not needed. Since it merged with league it has blue screened my pc twice as I pressed to close the anticheat.

Vanguard Disables drivers it can't identify, meaning if you computer is using drivers it doesn't recognize it bricks your comp often at a bios level. It means even if you haven't logged in to vanguard your connect devices like audio head sets speakers mouse and keyboard can be disabled. All other anti cheats stop you from playing there game if it detects drivers it doesn't know. this stops your drivers from working all. This isn't just problematic it is down right evil.

Maybe this is the way VAGINGUARD is supposed to work: -break the PCs of thos playing "for fun"(scary) since they don't play rank🚩, don't buy many skins🚩, want privicy🚩and have real life issues more important 🚩🚩🚩 -take care that the pro and high elo- plaiers don't complain since you want people that play and pay unholy amounts of hours and money respectivly -treat the entire fiasco as if it's the new 1989 only with PCs being killed "vanguard doesn't break computers , it must be on the user's part" +censorship about the topic at hand (even if they were not owned by <🇨🇳trust worthy state🇨🇳> riot sure takes the best things from it)

1: League had no cheat issues before Vanguard. Some scripters but its fairly rare to encounter one. 2: For some poeple like myself, changing settings in the BIOS to enable TPM 2.0 is a NO NO for personal reasons and also because that should not be a thing to be able to play video game.(Terrible marketing decision) 3: Vanguard, Riot all from Tencent chineese company, anyone that know about the world and electronics in general know that is a way to much intrusive program for the Western world. 4: Riot have said they have no intentions to fix or revert this anti-cheat shit program so for everyone like me after 11 years of league that is just pure disgrace for this company. 5: Yes Vanguard is a strong anti-cheat but cheat in the first place always have advance over anti-cheat programs so will this shit program solve anything in long term? i highly doubt about that.

TLDR: Stop complaining about an anticheat if you don't even stop to read the Terms and Conditions of the things you install. Now for the readers: I've had said it many times and I will say it again. The only reasons RIOT is having such controversy with their anticheat is: 1- It is visible while its running, even if it does nothing. 2- It is the only company that talks openly about it, even if some of the facts are proven a lie in the future. Not taking any security concerns that people may have, yes, it is another way (like any other program in your pc that runs at kernel/admin mode) for malicious people getting on your PC. Yes, it scans your computer in search of anything tampering with the game and yes, at this point it is normal that anticheats had to take this route, taking into consideration that cheats also run at this level. It is sad that it makes people with old machines not being able to play, but the same old computers lack security measures that newer hardware has (Like TPM 2.0), making your data more vulnerable. But it does not mean you are already putting your data out on the internet EVERY time you do something. If we take a look at how our data is spread in all of our devices, I can assure you that 75% of the people (or more) has their most valuable info (like banking stuff, private convos and even login credentials to sensitive stuff) in their phones, where we spend most of the time online. Plus when was the last time anyone read the cookie policies of a site or the terms and conditions of an app? No one even looks at that but then when the news about a social media site (like Facebook) "stealing" data from their users, or about an anticheat related to a big situation (like the recent hack in the ALGS series where two of their players had cheats suddenly enabled, in a game with Easy Anticheat) appears online suddenly all you hear about for a couple of days is "oh no, they stole data from me/they bypassed this anticheat oh no poor me" and then keeps using the app as it was just another day. For those that say "anticheat X or anticheat Y doesn't work", the truth about the cheat industry is (quoting from PirateSoftware) an arms race. Cheat makers bypasss the anticheat and a couple of months later the anticheat makers bypass the cheats and there is a massive banwave. You will see people cheating, but don't expect them to be caught some time later (Siege ppl will understand when suddenly on a match you get the messages of people getting banned and some of them are for cheats). Lastly as a side note, for anyone that wants to know how I truly feel about this: I don't think this type of programs are neccessary. I really don't. But if they are not there, some fo the games that we dearly enjoy would not be there anymore. Just imagine, entering a match, trying to have fun, and then someone cheating makes the whole lobby unfair by using cheats, giving them unfair advantage. I think it is a neccessary evil in order to have fun and for others to have fun as well. In conclusion, instead of complaining about another anticheat doing what it is supposed to (outside of the bugs and the bricking, nobody's program is always perfect, that is why updates exist) if we are concerned about how our data is treated then stop clicking the "accept" button so fast, READ, learn about cybersecurity a bit and update your devices (or at least the software). If anyone wants to reply, please do it with respect and giving your opinion. I will not reject it, that is why talking as civilized people means.

The main differences between Vanguard and the others Kerner Anticheat is that Vanguard runs 24/7 even if you don't run the game, is a driver that remains active unless you stop it from the boot-options and reboot your PC, there are a lot of videos around that show when Vanguard is open (even without having LoL/Valorant running) is conflicting with other games/tools causing FPS drop or other DLL conflict issues. + Vanguard can stop other drivers or processes (!!!!), if a driver or process is not compatible with Vanguard guidelines then it will be stopped automatically by not even say it, is done in the background, so if you use your PC for other things (mainly developing) expect problems. Worth to mention as well that Riot's moderators are basically lying on Reddit by saying that Vanguard is not causing any issues when a lot of people are reporting compatibility errors or hardware issues since Vanguard's implementation (you can find a lot of video around YT about this).

Season 3/4 League was when I started and although its still fun I feel like a good bit of the nostalgia has been patched out...which makes me sad
