Hello!
My name is Ema Cervenova and I come from Slovakia. I am a biotechnologist and currently live and work as an engineer in the beautiful city of Salzburg with my Norwegian boyfriend Daniel. Don't expect too many engineering topics on this channel though. I am enthusiastic about doing sports in nature and that will be the main focus of my creator journey.
I am a passionate runner for almost 10 years now but my sports portfolio is very diversified. I want to devote this channel to the beauty of nature, which also includes the athletic ability of the human body and spirit.

Impressions from Crete
Going to Crete was a red, flashing, two times underlined point on my bucket list for years. There is just so much which makes it perfect. It has the sea, it has the mountains, it has many cool animals, endemic plants, the best food, coolest mythology and was home to the oldest civilisation in Europe, which built the Minoan palace (also known as Minotaur labyrinth) 4000 years ago. I grew up with Percy Jackson, okay? I longed to set my feet on this island since forever... Being a runner and a fan of Christopher McDougall did not help the situation. Most long distance runners know the book Born to Run, but myself, a loyal follower, have also read Natural Born Heroes several times and unlike most runners, really liked it. Most of the book focuses on Crete and its history not only 4000 years ago but also more recent. It describes the 'Art of the Hero' from both the modern and ancient perspective. I, being basically one overgrown child, was drawn to this place like a magnet.
The travel companions this time were Daniel with his sister Regine, mum Eva and dad Jonny. We visited many places, among the best ones were the Elafonissi beach, Minoan Palace, Chania, Rethymno, the Botanical Gardens of Crete and our base Platanias. I even got to see the place of abduction of General Kreipe. Most people who go to Crete visit the Samaria gorge. That was our plan too, but during our stay, the temperatures during the day were reaching 40 degrees. We planned to run the gorge, woke up at 5am, drove across the island to be there at 7am when the gorge was to open... and arrived only to see a sign announcing that due to high temperatures, the gorge will not be accessible to tourists. That means only one thing - we are definitely coming back.

This is a video from a Top 10 hike in Norway - the Triangle in the Home of Trolls (Trakanten I Trollheimen). Great video. We did the same hike last year. However we did not find a place for camping in Aurlandsdalen. Can you share the exact location of where you guys camped out in Aurlandsdalen? I want to do the hike again.
Hi, thank you. 😊 Well... During the hike we just camped close to the trail. Afterwards we took a bus to Flåm and camped there. In Flåm there is a camp with showers and all. 😊

@@thijsk347 oh, as for the gps locations, unfortunately not. I did not track the hike as it would have killed my battery. We basically just searched for a spot... And only camped when we found something we liked. Or next to a cabin - that is always a good option.

Great video. I’m going to hike Aurlandsdalen this summer, and was wondering if you could help with two questions: 1) is the trail well signposted? 2) how often are the buses from Vassbygdi to Flam? I’ve tried to look online and it seems there is only one or two buses each day, and nothing after 2pm? I assume that’s wrong? Would appreciate any input!

Hi @bkpktrekker4068, the hike started in Finse and finished in Vassbygdi. It's marked with a red T sign on the trail. Hope that helps. I was not tracking it with a GPS tracker.

Hi @Rosie Baillie 😊 if you wish to see it, I definitely recommend a holiday somewhere where there is so much snow. Its not all just poetic and nice though... Most of the days are dark, cold and quite gloomy. 😅
