I woke up at 4am on a Saturday to go to Cars in the Canyon, held at Yanks Air Museum and arrived an hour before sunrise. I thought it would be a cool event, but I had had no clue what I was in for!
Air Cooled Porsches, classic cars, a gorgeous 911 GTS, a beautiful Porsche 918, and the first Ford GT Heritage produced! All of it was held at one of the coolest locations I have ever seen for a car event. We even got a formation flyover for the national anthem....

Brekkie Car Club teamed up with BH2 Events and BH2 Foundation to have a block party, supporting small business. 200 cars flooded the lot of Offset Coffee Company in El Segundo. McLaren, Porsches Liberty Walk Lamborghinis, M cars, and more all made a showing. It was the ultimate pop up block party.

How hard is it? I have a 328 donor and an s13 shell ready to go right now. 😅
I’ve heard that it’s easy as long as you’re swapping in all of the BMW electronics, braking system etc. That’s what was done on this car.
JDecker Media I've started the swap now. I've got the wiring stuff figure out to make everything run, I'm curious what they did mostly for mounts.
JDecker Media and how well the oil pan clears the rack because in the BMW it's forward of the crossover while the 240 is to the rear. I'm also doing videos as I do all of this to make it easier for anyone else.
Custom mounts. Kodi, the driver did them.

Next time remove the fuel pump fuse and crank the car till it won’t start and that will remove the pressure from the lines . Much easier

Pelican parts had instructions for just about any job on an E30. Also, the Bentley Service manual they have on there site is AMAZING as a resource. If we had that, we would’ve been more prepared.

Great video! Quick tip: remove the Air filter housing in the beginning. It takes literally a minute or two, and it opens up a lot of working space on that side of the engine bay. Cheers!

Too many amazing cars. The P1 was amazing, seeing a Chiron was amazing too. Either one would be a favorite any day but I’ll say both!

James Bone not everyone can have a Supercar right away! It’ll happen someday. Favorite was probably the Mclaren P1. It was spec’d to the moon. Too many to choose from though!
Hey man i just found your channel, great content! I like the e30 videos. I know a cheap and simple mod that will transform the cars powerband... it wont make it a rocket ship but it smoothes out the car and puts a very noticeable grunt into the m20b27, ive worked with this guy before at sssquidtuning and he works wonders for these cars www.sssquid.com/v3/product/m20b27-chip/ you will see an honest to god change and it will be night and day difference. If we knew why, we would say! Just wanted to show that you don’t have to be a technician to do the work with the right instructions. I think that being Tim is or not finding good instructions is a main reason why people don’t get fun old cars. First time doing a timing belt and water pump!
This is how one of my best friends and I get along when we're working on one of our BMW's. It's about having fun, sharing an adventure, and well, drinking plenty of beer. Honestly, I have to keep my nerves lubricated, or something is going to meet the working end of a hammer.Just bought a 91 325i, and it has over eight years on the timing belt and water pump. Jeez, I don't know how it's made it this far. My other Bimmers are M30 and M54 powered so I haven't known the delights of timing belt maintenance. Guess I'll need to restock the beer fridge.

Nice Vid.......Thanks for posting.................I have not had the pleasure of doing a T belt yet but will in the near future. I have been told to remove spark plugs and the engine will rotate easier - while they are out you might as will change them and do valve adjustment and replace the valve cover gasket.
Yes this is true! Thanks for the feedback MrCukoobox! Most of the spark plugs were relatively fresh. The priority here was to fix the water pump leaking issue. But we will be doing a similar video on my 325es soon!

if the owner could get back to me that would be great, im swapping an m50 into a 1970 datsun 240z. im wondering how i can run the stock dme and delete the unnecissary stuff and make it run. not many people do bmw swaps so any input would be AWESOME
check jordan @ rk-tune (google) it he may be able to help you with getting the stock dme running
Hey, I am pretty sure he just extracted all of the wiring, the DME, dash, accessories from a wrecked E36 all in one piece.
I know this is old but check out wedophones.com for full wiring schematics. Assuming your using an older M50 out of a e34 or 36. Your going to have to go the the wires on the C101 plug and figure out how they translate to Nissan wiring. Really just running switched power to the ignition and fuel pump wires and such.

All of the wiring came out of a donor car, including the dash and electronics. No custom looming.
