    Excellent and very educational. Bonus humour as well. Like the tip using the washer to secure your cable into the chase. reg your light switches configuration ( big word for an irishman) is that the 2 plate method or feeding the switch. Do you ever use the loop in method or is that a thing from the distant past. Thankyou for taking the time to make this its much appreciated.

    Lovely job. you made it look easy. I know this is prob a stupid question but im a beginner trying to gain knowledge if the neutral fly lead from the rcbo goes into the neutral bar corresponding to whatever no the rcbo is from main switch then where does the cable neutral go. Does it go into the rcbo itself somewhere. Thanks again superb video.

  • @AngelaPeters-fy1tc

    Great content again. Good for you treating your apprentices with respect, and letting them have a go. keep up the excellent work.

  • @AngelaPeters-fy1tc

    Good video and very interesting how you go about testing.So am I right in saying that you carry out the EICR noting down the values you obtain and then you flag up anything that is suspect eg bathroom light not IP rated and then you notify the customer of any remedial work to bring the installation up to the wiring regs etc. Is it up to the customer then to decide to go ahead or can you enforce it if they refuse due to finance etc. Thankyou again superb content.

  • @AngelaPeters-fy1tc

    Your a really nice fella, and I like the odd shot of real movie scenes, spotted Forest whittaker in the last king of Scotland, brilliant movie. Really enjoyed that informative video. Is that the wiring centre with the wagos inside? Does it come like that or did you add the wagos? AM i right in saying the orange wire is the one that goes live when the motorised valve hits the micro switch and then brings boiler and pump on. Thanks for taking the time to make this video its much appreciated.

      @@AngelaPeters-fy1tc ah cheers! Bit of fun 🤩. Wago do that wiring centre so comes like that but you can swap them out to any configuration. They do a bigger one which would have been nicer for this job. Yes that’s right grey perm runs through the micro switch to orange which then turns the boiler and pump on. You never learn this fully in college so handy to see

    • @finneyelectrical
      @finneyelectrical Před 8 dny

      @@tzm1843 so basics is rcds trip at the rating, so they trip when something causes more than 30mA leakage or trip if they are faulty. If they test out ok then it must be something intermittent in this case. If you do an insulation resistance test with the rcds off from line to earth and neutral to earth then if there’s an issue you generally get a reading less than 1Mohm. Disconnect the neutral and turn off the mcbs to find which circuit, then dive into that circuit to find the fault, is generally how it goes

    Hi when doing R1 R2 you should always disconnect the CPC from the earth bar to eliminate parallel paths 10:51. Particularly in this example as gas hob will have an earth via gas pipe and therefore via ignition lead to to circuit. If you disconnected cooker circuit CPC at cooker isolator and tested as you did you would still get an R1 R2 via gas pipe parallel path. The CPC may be loose in isolator or there may be a poor joint somewhere along the run from the CU ie a round joint box under kicker. Or am I missing something? I enjoy your content - always brave putting anything up on CZcams as people tend to criticise and nit pick. I'm just here to learn and share info, and see how other people do things.

    900 lumens is only marginally brighter than most indoor lightbulbs, and 18W isn't bad for an older bit of kit. Dunno what this guy's talking about

      Got some right weight to it compared to modern lamps. Still runs 10 years later 😂
