All that beeping would drive me nuts. If it's a blind spot warning, it's not a mirror check you should do, but a blind spot/shoulder check, because the blind spot is massive for a motorcyclist. Better to build that blind spot check into your system of motorcycle control than rely on an annoying beep to remind you?

I'm a millennial and love life saving and convenient technology even on bikes. Its like why bother doing a long complex math problem in your head when you can use a smartphone calculator and get the answer in milliseconds.

I was close passed by three drivers last week. The first was a learner on their test, the car covered in the driving school graphics. The second car was repeated the learner's mistake a mere second later. Great! The third close-passer was a driving instructor, again the car marked with the driving school graphics. I really expected better of a driving instructor and I think, was the closest of the three drivers.

If I wanted all the tech I'd simply drive my car. I can strap my phone on the handlebars, IF I need a map but being that I usually only ride within my township or into the nearest big city to which I've an understanding of the roadways it usually isn't necessary and my phone stays in my pocket. Riding a bike is dangerous enough without all that extra distractions of a lot of electronics. The only thing that I've added to my bike is the windscreen and I was given a phone holder as a gift. I understand that you need a lot of cameras and things for your content/sponsors but is it necessary. Distractions are more fatal on a bike than in a car. IMHO you've set a bad example Ash.

My instructor came to my location which was a carpark surrounded by shops one time and reversed into a huge kerb thinking it was the end bay. I just stood there with my bag embarrassed. He must have not angled his mirrors after his last learner. This video just reminded me of it 😓🫣

"Drive other cars" lets you drive other cars. And it's something i always check, even though I've never been presented with a policy that doesn't include it.

It's to simplistic to say done drive, leave your keys at home. Because then we get to how long... Four hours? Eight hours? Twelve hours? 24 hours? Which variable do we loose by the passage of time?

What the law says with rebates to 10% is that manufactures must fit a speedometer that is accurate to within 10%. Therefore if it's less than that, the police have to be ready to be challenged that their speedometer said it was the correct speed.

Hey man, I hope you don't mind if I try to give you some advice here, it's not anything big, I just wanted to share my experience with you. I'm a vegitarian and used to always stray away from using real leather in my clothes, that was the mindset I brought towards motorbike gear, I bought high tech and expensive jackets and jeans that were meant to be just as good as leather (so they said)... either way, I came off doing 40 and slid down the road about 10-15 meters, the armour held up and didn't tear, but the heat transfer was the issue, it was so severe that I ended up with burns all down my arms and knees. My advice that I give to every rider is to use fabric gear for in town riding only, anything faster than 30 I strongly recommend wearing leather armour as the heat transfer is much less intense, and if youre going on the motorway, personally id be scared to use fabric armour, hence why moto gp riders will always wear leather. This is my own personal opinion and I'm sure many riders will disagree, I just base it on my own personal experience.

I never reach for my water bottle unless the road ahead is 100% clear. Having one hand on the handlebar and being distracted while drinking is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully the cyclist is still able to ride his bike. Back injuries can end your enjoyment of cycling.

I watched this the other day, then encountered one today. Small world. An AA driving school car purposefully passed me close on my bicycle on my third ride of the year while beeping, then at the lights when she saw the helmet cam she begged me not to report her because it was her brother's car. I bet she cyber bullies strangers online same as she thought she could bully me in her car. Well the AA driving school have my report and I'll be perusing it.

ive been the person who pointed at the green man and mouthed off at a vehicle before, but to be fair, he was driving in my local high street (vehicles are not permitted during certain hours, basically only in the evening/night), there are two parts and a road down the centre, he then used me using the crossing as an excuse to exit the high street onto this road as traffic wasnt allowing him normally (they were on green) and he decided it was fine to try and drive into pedestrians

I'm a bike man, passed bike test 1978, was planning to buy a 500cc+ twin. Wife not happy. Was reminded that a friend of mine was decapitated recklessly racing an RD400 Yam'. Another friend, a Duke owner, told me and my wife about crashing on a motorbike and sliding and losing your skin. NHS can mend your bones but can do nowt about all that skin you scraped off, you die horribly of infection. FOR GOD'S SAKE, IF YOU MUST RIDE A MOTOR BIKE BUY LEATHERS, NOT BELSTAFF LEATHERS, LEATHERS, LEATHERS. Leathers protect your skin and slide not grip and flip, rotatating you breaking limbs. Ash, you are not nipping to the shops for a packet of fags and a paper, leathers mate.

Perhaps a few short pips on the horn at relevant moments and super slow, constant progress where I could. Let people see I’m moving but have plenty of time to react and remain safe. Probably torture my clutch but stopping encourages people to go when it’s not best for everyone involved.

I run a Gopro hero 10 with pass though door on front and a Gopro max 360 on the rear of the motorcycle this means if someone goes through a red light my rear camera will see my brake lights and down both sides of the motorcycle

I drive an old shape defender, it will move along at the same speed as any other car on the roads, even up to and beyond 70mph (tested on holiday abroard). I get a lot of MGIF at the lights, I just let them get on with it, I also get a lot of cars not wanting to be over taken on the motorway by a slow (historically) farm car, its usually the Mercs, Audis and BMWs, they’ll be tooling along at 60 in the middle lane and ill indicate out into the third lane and they’ll put their foot down and ill drop back in to the middle, then the inside, just to catch them up again in 5 minutes, its most annoying, but ill just listen to my book and let them get on with it. I’m sure I would care more if I was younger, but I’m not and I don’t.

I don't think the second use of the horn helped the situation. I would have probably waited at the second crossing to let them go and then when I see it's switched to a red man I would have then moved off slowly. I think it's a bit badly designed, there should be a second set of lights which turn red at the same time as the first ones but have an extra stop line if that makes sense.

We've spent the last 20 years making things as difficult as possible for car drivers in city centres. It shouldn't be a surprise that we've created a generation of city-dwellers who treat car drivers with contempt. I counted 12 people who crossed the road directly in from of the cammer, with barely any of them even acknowledging the presence of the car, much less offering a wave of thanks for allowing them to cross.

Bikers don’t need things like abs and traction control I’ve had my triumph 1200 for 31 years and never needed them and that’s with 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 150 mph And if you have a blind spot turn your head ! If you feel uncomfortable on the road do the enhanced rider scheme it will transform your riding

Technology overload. All the tech on that bike….if it falls over……😬 Love the look of that frame that is the actual bike. Just fin a tech upgrade at home and was very stressful for 2w. You change 1 thing and it causes all sorts of problems. Made much worse if let down by customer service as in my case. Adding on all that extra tech…needs to be done properly as with a car. I know a few car owners who had reliable 2nd hand cars, had a load of electronics bolted to the electrical system and then encountered reliability issues with the car such as drained battery. Very smooth relaxed ride. Sort of an engine with plenty of low down torque.

You’ve criticised a pedestrian’s entitlement for crossing on green; the same applies when the camera car enters the junction. Being ‘committed’ but stuck on a sand bank is the result of failing to plan ahead. “If my viewer had sat still they never would have been getting across”. The problem is they followed the car in front when their exit was not in their control. They couldn’t effect carriageway flow, and they couldn’t prevent pedestrians crossing in between. How would I handle it? First of all, I wouldn’t be driving through Manchester city centre. At. All. Almost any reason for doing so can be provided with an alternative. Driving there, I’d want my bumps feeling. Second, with that level of pedestrian traffic, anybody used to a city centre would know that pedestrian flock like that. Wait until the light is green AND the path through is clear (like you’ were expecting the pedestrians to do). You might miss a signal phase, but you’ll have removed one element beyond your control - the poor progress of the car in front.

A video I wouldn't mind seeing is one about your helmet and intercom/Bluetooth.

Exactly why I do NOT trust or respect the Police or any "authorities" - remember why the "Peelers" (Police) where created - To protect the rich (upper classes). This video eloquently demonstrates how they are corrupt and will back up each other, like my Grandad used to say "Thick as thieves" - That is to say they stick together and cover for each other, which could be seen as admirable until you take into account that as civil servants they are here to protect and serve the public (Yeah right hahahaha).
