Interesting video ! I don't have a blue-dot lens, but hopefully the old series are not too different. I notice that the "half-moon" set-screw is different from a couple of other videos (of older Mamiya C series lens repairs) that I have seen.

What adhesive do you use to glue the mirror back? i've seen everything from cyanacrylate to Pliobond to epoxy. I'm thinking Pliobond/contact cement as it's easy to reverse and re-do if the mirror moves or doesn't stick well.

I just bought one in a market. There was film in it and someone had tried to force wind on after all the film was exposed, dislocating the winding / shutter cocking mechanism. I will be trying to fix it as above so thanks for the info. I have my own ME Super since 1981. A great little film camera to learn on. I bought the broken one solely for its pristine 50mm f1.7 lens - the original kit lens and a truly excellent optic with PK mount which I use on my Sony mirrorless bodies in fully Manual mode.

There is NO possible way you could "reuse" the original brass crimes from the tungsten wire, you'd utterly destroy them digging them out, trust me I know, you'd need to get new a crimping solution, apparently 0.5mm fishing crimps exist but they are a double thing, made too loop the fishing line, so some other 5mm tube is needed to crimp to the fishing braid, then use a soldering iron to seat that into the original plastic camera dial spool thing

Hi, I have a Pentax Spotmatic and it has been working great for the last year until recently. Everything works fine, but when the advance lever is done winding on the film and cocking the shutter, it does not snap back to its original position. It will return with a little force, but there is definitely some friction somewhere in the mechanism. Any idea what is causing that? Thanks :)

The camera worked before I was just trying to adjust the winder bc the advance lever was sticky. I wonder if I should just try replacing bottom capacitor?

I have a Lunasix 3 and I am about to do the same upgrade but on my model, but: THE RED WIRE IS THE NEGATIVE! The position of the batteries is the same as yours with the + touching the screwing cap. If the diode must be connected to the positive that is the wrong wire. Please check with a multimeter with the 'beep function' which is the positive. Online you can find another video where you can see an Italian guy installing the diode on a blue positive wire one the side (Mine is Yellow).

I had one in working condition about to be used. Loaded up a film but after a day or so I found out it wasn’t properly installed as that rewind dial wouldn’t spin when advancing. So messing around I must’ve done something wrong as now the shutter is cocked but can’t be fired anymore and the forwarding lever has no tension at all. Hopefully this video will be a fix to my issue. I just need to find the proper screw drivers first…
