I like that trip, we only took I-5 Freeway to go to San Francisco and having to take exit 553 in California to go there.

I was lucky enough to live there as a kid not far from where you started on hollywood beach! What I always remembered was how busy it was on weekends and a ghost town during the week (80s/early 90s)

I've done this drive several times when we go/come back from Mexico.

I met a group of students from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles. (They were touring Peru.) I asked several of them what part of Los Angeles they were from. Not a single one could tell me! (One of them told me that someone had told her that "they were near the zoo.") Their teacher was the one who told me the school was in Los Feliz.

Love the ride! Sometimes, I couldn't keep my eyes off the road. I rode my bicycle from Santa Rosa to Occidental and out to Lucas Wharf and back. That was in 1985. Can't do that anymore.

Love the video without music and interstate 405 doesn’t touch San Diego county but interstate 5 reaches the city of San Diego south of interstate 405’s southern end in Irvine. Why doesn’t interstate 405 continue south of The el toro y interchange intersecting lake forest parkway near Muirlands Blvd continuing south through into mission Viejo eventually intersecting California state route 74 between Antonio parkway and strawberry lane in San Juan Capistrano. It maybe because interstate 405 would follow to close to interstate 5 through mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano and there’s no viable path east of where interstate 5 passes through Camp Pendleton for interstate 405 to cross over to San Diego county.
