    Is it typical to have chatter on a mercury 150xl using your SS props and hub kits?

    Cool until you tried that used car salesman shit with the obvious one trimmed up and one trimmed down side by side. Wtf.

      Nice catch! We appreciate that you took the time to comment and call this out, thank you. This video has been on CZcams for a few years now and I believe we only had one or two other people make the same observation and comment. Many Dealers at industry trade shows did point this out too. Yes you are 100% correct the “standard” 3 blade prop on the two applications tested in the video could not be trimmed up fully as it would cavitate, lose grip, and eventually come off plane. That was the most trim that prop could handle. The point of this section of the video is to show how well Turning Point’s dual geometry 4 blade propeller carries the boat, allowing full engine trim without blowing out the prop. These are all repeatable real world tests. Feel free to give us a call, ask for Phil (driver in the video, and a product engineer) - he would be happy to provide as much detail as you would like.

    Switching from aluminum to stainless requires some experimentation. In todays market that can be very expensive and time consuming. Until you get props into the hands of discount dealers that can provide a “try before you buy” program, you will be relegated to a very small market. Good luck…….

    First of all, the information is great, but it would have been much better to do a demonstration on a real boat that shows the difference between the SDH and the standard hub that has been available in the market. Show us what type of noise this system is supposed to help reduce and the sound difference with the new hub. This seems like an interesting concept and product right up to the end when you mentioned that it only had a one year warranty. On the other hand, the standard hub has a lifetime warranty. It is a hard sell to consumers when a new product has a lower warranty period than an existing product. Either it doesn't work or it does not last. It was a hard sell so at the end, we went with the standard hub because nothing in this video tells consumers that this is a better product for them. There is a lot of market hype but no proof of the concept works. Thanks.

    I can only speak for my application, but I will say that I am impressed! Gained across the range. Better hole shot, much better cruise, and same top speed. Noticeably better cruise economy! In short, a better boat. The four blade turning point reduced my cruise rpm by about 400. The boat is a 17 ft aluminum with 4.3l mercruiser v6 IO. 175hp. Tp 21p three blade vs Tp 21p four blade. Top speed with three blade was 43mph on a good day with smooth water, top speed with four blade is 43mph as well, but it is easier to attain in less than perfect conditions, so I call that an across the board gain! Very pleased!

    Like wtf! Circle test are 4 vs 3 blade and the trim test is clearly a lower trim setting on the competition. Ridiculous tests here

    • @turningpointpropellers101
      @turningpointpropellers101 Před 5 lety

      Thank you for your observations and comments. The reason that we tested competitive three blade against our four blade was to show how well our four blade corners, lifts the boat, and maintains 3 blade top end speed. As for the trim, any more trim with the standard aluminum three blade (commonly seen in the field) would cause it blow out. These are all repeatable real world tests.
