    Thank you for explaining this so clearly. One question I have is how long can the grains live in the fridge?

    • @kefirlady1981

      Thank you 😊 have had my grains in the fridge for a year but I have two bottles of grains in milk going, so make sure both batches keep making kefir. If you are not using at all and just keeping in fridge, the recommendation is up to 3 months. Just make sure you keep an eye on them and top up with milk, as sometimes the kefir you make may not taste the same.

    Excellent video. I so appreciate your advice. My grains are very happy and are growing well. Sadly to say none of my friends wanted to try it so I decided to decide to freeze and I will certainly use your method. Thank you so much!!

      Aww that’s very kind of you Lisa💗 Yes , kefir is an acquired taste but more and more people are beginning to experience their benefits!! Supermarkets also are stocking them up, but making at home gives you the most benefits! You can join groups on Facebook and share the love this way too x

      I've been making it now for three weeks and I'm getting much better at it thus it's also tasting better. The amount of grains I use and the amount of time is ferments. Also my second fermentation is running now about 9 hours and then in the fridge. It's truly getting good and now it's part of my diet. Again thank you for taking your time to make these great video's. I've learned so much from you. Thank you!!

    U have not poured milk into ziploc bag is it okay?

    • @kefirlady1981
      @kefirlady1981 Před rokem

      Yes because the grains are being frozen. When you are ready to defrost put straight into milk and leave to defrost. Additionally if you prefer, you can add a little milk x

    Yo Idk if its the lighting, but your kefir grains look orange/pinkish. This is a sign that they are contaminated in a dangerous way

    • @moonaka2
      @moonaka2 Před rokem

      on second viewing it might have just been the lighting

      @@elizabethalex5003absolutely. My grains are not pure white they have that buttery colour too! It is only a worry if you get pink mould or fluff growing on top of your kefir x
