Wonderful information,Congratulation Guys
Pete, you messed up bad with your post in not a Rubicon. Id take your call sign off the comment section. You are about to be personally responsible for a number of repeaters getting jammed in MD and WV. Youve got some pissed off baofeng users coming after you. From one licenced ham to another, Really not a mature or intelligent to threaten people on a YT channel. People like you, gatekeeping our hobby, is why ham is going down the drain. Shame on you sir ..

Thanks Dan, as a "little pistol" station myself and was recently voted in as a member of FRC, I really learned a lot from this video!!! 73 de AC3LZ

Incredibly well documented presentation ! Thanks !
Just learning of this contest today. Very interesting. Can one reuse a QTC list, or part of a QTC list? I am low power and end fed wire, so I am not getting hundreds of QSOs. I can't recall of that was touched in the presentation, I don't think so. Good seminar, definitely helpful.
thanks for this video with best 73 from Felix HB9ABX hb9abx.no-ip.biz/

Interesting talk. Just a thought...you know how they have those distributed computer programs like SETI@home, where people download them and run on their own computers, which then contribute results to a central recipient...you could do something like that with ham radio: lots of little stations all over the world could participate by connecting themselves to the internet and being controlled from a central "contest station", which would of course then win every contest! :-) Another idea: since there are already CW "skimmer" programs that automatically monitor and decode CW calls, it should be possible to write a completely automated robotic contest operator program, at least for CW. Someday, with enough AI horsepower, could do the same on SSB - once that happens, human operators will be obsolete in contests :-(
Silly
Great Q&A session. The idea of doing a panel discussion sounds good too. 73 N9SE
Hello and thanks for this Webinar - My question here is am I supposed to work out my scores, or are the judges doing that.
Hi Rodger. All you have to do is upload your log after the contest as specified in the rules. You don't need to work out your scores. 73 - N5OT
Hi Hank, enjoyed your talk at HARIG last evening (12 June) Thanks for sharing, I am sure many will be in touch over the next couple of days. 73 & good DX Garry M0MGP
While it may appear to the speaker that it is Dalton-like Minimum, it should be noted that his prediction only speaks of the sun's output and does not necessarily reflect the climate on Earth and does not take into the fact that this is also the Cosmic Ray Maximum and the overall and as yet unknown effect of this increase in cosmic ray flux. These cosmic rays excite silicious volcanoes as well as increase rain nucleation. So, while solar output may be Dalton-like, climate on Earth could be Maunder-like.
Wow.... incredible station! I am flabbergasted with this "hobby" (lifestyle?) and the amazing people in it. Licensed just over a year now, and loving it, on the air every day since. I think it's awesome that someone would spend the amount of money and time and effort this must have cost you to get out and play radio! And invite people along as well. Good for you! Money well spent! :)73 de ki7onn

Lack of data? Assuming the physics is possible, how would we go about getting that data?
интересно, во сколько всё это обошлось???
He probably has 1 or 2 million dollars in land and antennas and buildings etc.
молодцы ребята!!!

Очень полезная информация, жалко, что не владею английским языком... Как раз ищу информацию по приёмным антеннам 160 метрового диапазона. Тут она есть. Русскоязычных сюжетов по этой теме практически нет... UA3SDV.
It would be nice to have some west coast predictions. Bill, W6QR
How can a little guy running barefoot with a G5RV in his back yard compete with other Larger Antenna Station, He Can't! I have tried to explain this to the ARRL Contest Chairman, but he wouldn't listen. You have categories for Operators and Power and Mode, but the Antenna type? NO! Add another Category: Antenna Type: Wire, Vertical & Yagi. Make if fair.
Radioman909 look at the antenna kr0y used to win ss low power in the 1990s
This is some amazing info. I've been researching global cooling. These solar videos of you guys are excellent. Thank you for taking the time to make them.
This is a comment on all the Contest University videos and other ham radio videos. Why WHY WHY is the audio always horrible? You would think these are pretty smart guys giving these talks. Some of them engineers, and audio guys and more. They know audio rf and more. So why can't they record a descent sound? The levels are always off, eating the microphone, static, hum, etc...... Amazes me every time.
Quit reporting incorrect geographic location data please. Never heard of this before Pete or just don't care?
Great contest station. Just received in Calgary this weekend.
when the northern hemisphere is getting snow in July in August yeah I would have to say so we're definitely headed that way to the next Grand solar minimum And in regards of propagation in the negative factor
Interesting how Ham radio has so many different hobbies within. I've been an extra since 2012 and I have no idea what you guys are talking about ;-)
I am also real-estate-challenged. And am also a *brand new* amateur. I went with a 30' flagpole antenna from ZeroFive that covers 80-6 meters. Any type of tower would have taken up the whole back yard and looked awful. My front yard is also small and heavily sloped, so a 60'x30' area behind my house is all I had to work with. I also put a Diamond V2000A on the roof to get 2m/70cm coverage. I used LMR-600 on both antennas and the flagpole is connected to a Yaesu FTDX5000MP and the Diamond is hooked up to a Yaesu FT-991. Thanks for the information!
I am *brand new* - I got my tech about 4 months ago and my general 3 months ago and my shack has only been up a couple of weeks now and still have almost no practical experience on the air, but I just want to let you know that even to someone who is completely ignorant to amateur radio, this was a FANTASTIC presentation and it's interesting even to those of us who haven't been around for the history. I learned a LOT and liked this so much I actually watched it through twice, start to finish! THANK YOU! W5YOP
great video thanks so much Mr.DUFFY
Craig... first of all I would like to congratulate you and your helping friends for such a wonderful station you guys have put together... I can only imagine the small fortune and loads of time you have invested in this project... Well it came out pretty sharp.... Next time I come by you, invite me for a cup of coffee and give me a tour into your humble Ham shack... Very impressive... Hopefuly one of these days we can rag chew a little bit.... Keep it up... and great contacts... 73´s - Carlos Ismerio (PU2LMI - Brazil) and (KI5EEE - USA)
Nice presentation, I really enjoyed it! Thank you guys! :) Peter, HA8RM
Well done!
Very good, thank you.
I don't agree with your advice not to send your call when people are calling. Just because people are calling doesn't mean you don't need to identify yourself for people who might start calling during your pileup.
Valuable introduction to VHF roving, including history, how to get started, best practices, and lots of pictures of rovers.
Superb introduction on the effects of terrain, and how to plan your antennas and operations! Thanks!
Wars, ethnic violence, famines, plagues, and earthquakes all come with a Maunder Minimum. What scares me the most is that these are the same signs Jesus said would happen when the end of the world or age was near Matthew 24:1-8.
tops observation
Eric E Stahl No, the same thing happened in the 1600s. Jesus wont come back due to a few cold winters.
You got it! we are there. It will keep getting worse now!
