Does THERMAL GRIZZLY KRYONAUT Degrade?
How long will Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut last on your system after a repaste? This is a question I asked myself while repasting my laptop the first time, and sure enough after long enough, the degradation was very clear.
This video takes you through my experience with this degradation, and the performance improvement that the subsequent repaste offered. Enjoy!

Battlefield V RTX - Playable FPS on NVIDIA Pascal? (GTX 1060, Dell G7))
zhlédnutí 364Před 5 lety
With the new driver release, DXR has now been opened up to NVIDIA Pascal GPU owners (GTX 1060 and up). The framerates achieved are a nowhere near as high as those achievable on RTX GPUs, but they're also nowhere near as low as advertised by NVIDIA. The real question now becomes; are the framerates decent enough for gaming on Pascal, or are they too low to even gain a feel for raytracing? The ga...

So if i just did undervolt the cpu or decreased its power a little i should be able to get the same performance ?
30 days after I changed it :D
if you want to take care of the heat issue for free, turn off the turbo boost in the bios --- i just redid thermal paste from mx 4 to mx 6 and turned off the turbo boost and now my max temperature running mount and blade bannerlord on max settings is 81 C i also turned off C-states
thanks i really need this, goes from 95-100c to 60-70c
can i use an external hard drive to clone the sdd? Never done this before but does not seem that hard. Thanks
This is reassuring that I can do something to improve our family lap top we bought around 3 years ago. It's used by all of us for regular web browsing stuff and for a little while it was running Sims okay but now we run out of space every time Sims needs to update and I've offloaded pretty much every app I can. Ended up having to uninstall the Sims which was a gift and not received well by my teenage daughter. What would be the first way to improve our situation so we can run games again? RAM? SSD? These are foreign language to me for the most part but I got an idea of where they are in the laptop thanks to youtube videos...
i have something rare with this APP when i pute ultraperformance the fans did not spin at 100%, are not louder than the Cool option and the Temps drops to 100C
Worry! You have to own good motherboard with solid power section if you want to uv or oc your GPU.
Hi, i have this laptop, but i dont know how can i change the keyboard lighting? Its always white color, and i saw in other videos the same laptop with blue lights.
Does the SATA SSD work, cause I read the documentation and it said that only SATA HDD and SATA SSHD are supported ??
I simply disabled DPTF in the bios of my laptop. No need to fiddle in device manager or delete drivers.
This is also what I did... but it didnt help
It's mid 2023 I'm still using mine....
Thanks a lot. Really helped my system. For my Rog Strix 8750H laptop, I was using throttlestop to lower it to 3.2 Ghz. But after this solution, I can stay upto 3.9 Ghz with 83 degree max, checking with AIDA64 stability test for a while (CPU, GPU and RAM stressed to max).
Any experience replacing or upgrading the gpu? I've had mine for 5 almost 6 years and it has begun dying. I probably should have tried replacing the thermal paste a long time ago
I’ve been virtually unable to play any 3d games for years now due to this model’s shite cooling system. Planning on trying this soon. Thanks for the upload!
You solved my OC problems, thanks a lot, you gained a sub!
my bios is locked..i cant canche anythin...only make the boost off...but still 95degrees ;.( blade15 also with a i7 8750h...
reset bios to factory settings
@@User-ot1cg haha..it work...i dont know what it was,,but: i make the standart settings in bios, and now throttelstop works :-) (3 month i try everything and nothing works).now its so awesome..i can play everything in high settings,by max 70degrees :-).. Wow..
i ahve this laptop. great video
2 years seems about right. Very disappointing b/c average paste should last 4 years. I read MX-4 lasts 7-8 years, but it didn't work well on my system. Kryonaut is amazing, way better than Arctic silver or MX-4, but constant repasting makes it not worth it b/c I hate opening up my laptop every 2 years.
by turning off anti-alising u always increase FPS
super like thanks
Nice vid, we have the same laptop except mines i7 5500u
Just go to the "service" and turn dynamic tuning service off. Leave the driver there.
Where does service come from
I bought my G7 back in the summer of 2018 and had no clue it could handle 32 gbs of ram. So thanks for that tip! I upgraded it to 16gbs at the time and never really had too much of a problem. With it. But I will definetly upgrade to 32gb. I probably need the paste too because my fans run all the time and oscillate every 10 minutes with just the desktop screen on and no programs running. I mainly use it to play shooter games and was looking for a way to get better frames per second. I bought a 240mhz 30'' HDMI monitor and I never use the laptop display. One upgrade I would recommend that isn't really an upgrade is to take the laptop apart every 3 months and clean out all the dust inside of it. Especially the fans and heatsink. You would be suprised at much stuff can get in there even in the cleanest of environments. Good tips N STUFF
yeah i just repasted mine today and my temps are significantly lower and i don't get stuttering in my games.
what about gpu? can that be upgraded?
Why thermal paste for brave only? Does it break down the system?
direct contact die thermal grizzly only work well 7 8 months.
Shift +lb mouse, loshara🤣🤣🤣. Hai from Russia 👎
is it ok for the laptop to be upgraded to 120hz (from 60)? Wouldn't that mess with the computer?
I came here using kronaut extreme after 3months from 78c to 94c, fk this paste is expensive yet poorly made!
There are many fake copy available in market.
Same with Arctic MX5
@@nikita23154 i put noctua nth2 but the temps is high. only 9w/mk conductivity. I will try thermalright tfx. It has 14w/mk. Im using laptop thats why the paste doesnt last😔
You should try using phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs in my experience works better than traditional pastes, On the power section and vrams propose to give thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro.
Great video on how to do this.👍 Maybe someone here knows... generally if a device needs power and expected volts aren't there it draws more amps, amps generate heat so it should make the device (GPU/CPU) hotter. Is the idea of undervolting to limit the overall power consumption/performance to eliminate the ups and downs of temp maxing out and then device reducing performance to keep from overheating (so stable high performance vs occasional maximum performance)? I know undervolting works or so many people wouldn't be doing it...just curious how it's working. Thanks anyone who can explain.
I think I figured it out. We're not changing the power voltage 5v/12v or whatever powers the device...just signal voltage and playing with the high/low threshold. So a single "high" on the signal may be set at the factory to .9v where the device can actually recognize "high" as .7v and we're just trying to figure out what that lowest stable voltage is for the higher frequencies? This is still a question 😂🤣 because I'm not 100%.
i am not sure where you are getting the swap space figure of 50 GB
I am on Asus eco system and i want to use new gpu tweak 3 to overclock in user mode. Is there a tutorial for that ?
I have the same laptop and it becomes so laggy and hot when I play for like so little how can I fix this?
I dealt with that issue for years, then I got some compressed air to blast all the dust out of the fans. I took the back off and sprayed all around the fans on both sides, and now the laptop works great! You might also have to get a new heatsink for the laptop which would require extra work to fix but I would start with compressed air.
Why some g7 motherboards are so much work and my g7 was only 6 screens inside after taking off the first back lid.
hello. i wanted to ask you that does the workaround of removing the intel dynamic thermal drivers is still working for you? the 1 you showed in ur last video. also do i need throttlestop for this to work as the new bios doesnt allow it or will it work on its own without TS? thanks alot
Thank you now my GPU don't throttle anymore because it stay in the 80 degree finally I don't have performance loose in the summer xd
Can u do a video on undervolting GTX 1060 6GB MaxQ
It took me 2-3 hours, but it was worth it. I got mine used, and I'm not sure the fans were cleared out, because it was always running hot. I cleaned the fans all out, only the fans, and the temps dropped dramatically. I am going to replace the thermal paste, which I haven't done yet, so I am excited for that to get here Edit: it dropped the temps about 4 degrees C less, although sometimes it's more like 3 or 2 less, but idk why... Either way, it doesn't thermal throttle, and that's the important part :D
aahmmmm
I can't edit anything in the FIVR menu. It's all locked. I have the same laptop
I'm thinking of changing the screen on my G7 7588, so thanks for all the great info. One question, would you still recommend this screen or are there better alternatives now?
help my thing runs at like 100 when im playing smth
How to restore data and windows to new SSD? I have lot's of license software
That's the 1st video to properly approach the undervolting that i found. Pretty much everyone else just underclocks the whole graph and calls it done. "There, lower temps!" Thank you, that goes straight into my "tutorials that actually work" playlist. Good job.
Why doesn't the bios still manage the clock speed-thermal relation when this is disabled like it does on machines without this?
Great video, thank you
Thanks! 1 year after a repaste using this video tutorial, and my g7 is still going strong. The thermals are starting to creep up again, which is probably due to dust buildup. Since it's now almost a 4 year old machine, I feel compelled to experiment on it. Thinking this would be a good Conductonaut liquid metal test machine. Thanks again!
Is g7-7588 compatible with Samsung 970 evo nvme-pcie gen3 ssd also?
what is the software you use to show temperature and fps in upper left corner ?
