That's our older "flat top" Firing Pin and we'd like to offer you the updated version. Please contact us. We've been told by our webmaster that our site was Censored by google and shadow banned by youtube some time back. Hope you haven't been negatively affected also. When we install a Firing Pin Kit, we ream out the Firing Pin Hole with a .182" reamer or a #14 drill bit. There is often a burr pointing inwards where the Firing Pin Hole intersects the Retaining Pin Hole. If you slip the reamer/drill bit into the Firing Pin Hole and don't feel this burr, that SKS has likely not experienced any primer failures from the imported steel cased Berdan primed ammo. (very common issue these days) A page on murraysgunsdotcom tells the whole story. And a separate page tells of the cure for this issue. Makes the SKS digest any and all Berdan primed ammo as reliably as an AK-47. Thanks Again!

10 years on and this is still good info. I have a PCC and pistol I enjoy, and have just ordered my first AR (of the budget variety, for learning both handling and how to tinker). I pick it up in a week (on order, no wait period stuff here). I have been watching all the instructional videos I can before I pick it up and head to the range, and this is easily one of the very best. There's a reason almost 4 million people have watched it.

Is the botttom part consists of 2 parts or is it fully cnc machnied? The bottom part i mentioned is a handle

My springs are trash clearly cause that trigger pin input is practically impossible for me. The cord can’t stay on the post and just juts out. I’ll take my AR any day at this point.

Are you able to push down the upper retainer to fit a standard AK upper hand guard?

Perfect video. Referenced it for two builds a while apart and had great success both times.

When “seasoning “the barrel. Tightening to 30 ft/lbs foot pounds and above and loosening. When that three times it’s called seasoning. The purpose is to properly distribute the grease everywhere and to loosen up the threads to a point where they are evenly constricting around the barrel when torqued the final time.

I think you forgot to add the grease

I've only purchased, not pinned my own barrels...that pin although technically pinned, was a bit loose I thaught. But there are no videos addressing any issues so I assume it's fine? 🤷

Save yourself a lot of time next time. Just get some Ballistol and an air compressor. Spray it, scrub it and blow out all the crap. Be done in a couple minutes What the hell is sticking them inside the oven for?

I think the reason he couldn't get the barrel in is he hydrolocked it because he used so much grease!

Is there a reason you used the vise block initially and then switch over to the reaction rod? I'm about to swap hand guards, and therefore barrel nuts, on one of my rifles and only have a reaction rod.
