    The Lone Ranger's Creed"I believe... That to have a friend, a man must be one. That all men are created equal and that everyone has within himself the power to make this a better world. That God put the firewood there but that every man must gather and light it himself. In being prepared physically, mentally, and morally to fight when necessary for that which is right. That a man should make the most of what equipment he has. That 'This government, of the people, by the people and for the people' shall live always. That men should live by the rule of what is best for the greatest number. That sooner or later ... somewhere ... somehow ... we must settle with the world and make payment for what we have taken. That all things change but truth, and that truth alone, lives on forever. In my Creator, my country, my fellow man."

    I am in Lusaka Zambia. Still enjoying watching the Lone Ranger. Started watching it in 1969 on a Philips 19" valved black and white TV. Am now 61,still watching the Lone Ranger over and over. Though in 1969 I couldn't follow the story but could still enjoy the action. Now I can follow the story enjoyably.

    I honestly did not know how enamoured with Valentina Christian was when he saw her before their scene in the abbatoir, nor did I know that he had not been told what she would do with him. I had watched this scene before not knowing this about them. Knowing this now gives her seduction scene that much more impetus and momentum. She was in control the entire time. She did what she wanted, and he was completely won over by her. Beautiful!

    The novelist Thomas Hardy didn't create this complete male character in this novel, but he was the person he was in his novel, and I never doubted that he was this perfect, to tell US that there are noble men in this world without palaces or money. I'm believe that some day I will meet this person too. every girl like her deserve that.

Thank you...the 1949 original pilot with the real Lone Ranger and Tonto. P.S. Before some were pondering the better of "City of Gold" or this film from 1956. I say they are equally good...excellent stories, great actors and the whole productions are great...and always telling the truth re the genocidal efforts of many against the Indians. I must study more the origin and main thoughts of these great films of Lone Ranger telling the truth about our elimination of them.

    My profound apperciation for this and the 'Lone Ranger and the City of Gold' 1958 movie as well. Good stories with moral centers. To my knowledge, in the 'City of Gold' movie, there was not one questionable word (except 'Redskins' as a bad-guy reference to Native Americans), and just little tiny blood spots. Far cry from the profligate mess of today's 'art.'

    Come with me if you want to live. An exact copy of Bible verses. Jesus Christ is finally the only terminator we have to be afraid for. He set the rules, we broke the rules and He will terminate all that don't agree with His will. But, if we take His hand and repent and ask forgiveness, we'll notice this Terminator is our only salvation from eternal death. Romans chapter 1 to 3. (The rest of the book is great too.) Shalom.

    Having once been rejected , it was very unlikely that Gabriel was going to ask again. Knowing this, Bathsheba had to find a way to let him know that another proposal would be accepted and then do a bit of proposing herself ... to make up for rejecting him in the past. Hardy the consummate feminist!

  • @centigradz
    @centigradz Před 3 lety

    They missed some great parts from the book where she saves Gabriel. I think she loved Troy blindly. He did manipulate her into a marriage. But even after that she was blissfully happy with him for a short while. When he died she wept and brought his body to her house. he wanted to possess Troy. But Gabriel was the only one who loved her through her good times and bad. But I think he loved her coz she was very beautiful and her beauty bewitched her and he never saw through her and her evil deeds at times. I think she realised that if she said yes to gabriel it would only b if she had no other options. after the wedding she realised that troy was not the man she thought he would b and regretted it and although she did go to end it (before the marriage) she wanted to possess him when he made her jealous. In the end she realised that she was at a mature stage and had lost everything and didn't want to lose the one man who was there by her side. I think she felt comfortable with gabriel. She did try to end it and that is why she went to troy but she also was crazy in lust with him. I think she never though gabriel loved her truly and feared that he was just enamoured by her beauty coz he proposed too soon. troy flattered her shamelessly but accepted it willing. in the book gabriel doesn't get to dance with her and is not present when troy gets shot which is far more tragic coz he could have prevented it. even when troy was weeping over fanny's dead body she was trying to stop it. she just couldn't grasp reality that troy never loved her.
