When i was younger, i could easily pronounce the rr sound since I could speak slovene (I'm half french half slovene) but as i grew up(in France), and maybe because I've learnt to speak japanese in which the rr sound doesn't exist, it has become difficult to pronounce the rr sound even though i can easily pronounce the r sound. And here I am learning spanish and trying to pronounce the rr correctly again. Thank you for your explanation, it's really helpful.

I live in Murcia in Spain and the accent is very unique. D/S/Z are non-existent. So a word like 'Atascado' will sound like 'a-ta-cow'. Nada is Na. Para is Pa. Ito/Ita are Ico/Ica. It's a great place to learn though. They say if you can learn Spanish in Murcia then you have mastered it. 😅

Began learning Spanish decades ago. Have lived in 3 Spanish speaking counties for years at a time. My accent and my lack of rolling rs pegs me as a non-native speaker. Most people have been kind, remarking that I am good at speaking the language. After attempting to roll the r and failing have resigned myself to just concentrate on learning vocabulary. Have stopped being concerned.

I'm 1/3 Mexican and the rest Portuguese and Spanish. Raised hearing Spanish my whole life but was brought up not speaking it or scolded if I did. I can read it and I understand it but can not fully speak it. When I was little I could roll my rr"s but can not today. Thank you for this video I will practice as you say.

For some reason I get stuck trying to roll my r's the French way like in the back on the roof of my mouth when I get stuck on that for some reason practicing the word hombre helps me get back to the tip of my mouth something about the b sound helps me roll into the r better

Oye, siendo una persona que nació en Latinoamérica, quiero decirte que tu Español está muy bueno. Y sabés explicar todas esas palabras que usamos cuando hablamos pero es un poco difícil explicarlo a personal que están aprendiendo, puesto que son palabras que uno siempre ha usado. A mí se me hace bien difícil explicar el se, le, te, lo, etc.

Ok for all those that never could after watching all these videos...here's what finally worked for me. Start out making the zzzz sound, then move your tongue to the roof of your mouth while you are making the zzz sound. Once you can hold your tongue in the right place while making the zzzz sound, keep your tongue there and try to add in the k sound with the sides and back of your tongue while making the zzz sound if that makes sense. Edited to add this video is the one that helped me most, but I had to experiment on my own to finally get it. I'm still working on adding it to words though. It's very breathy atm.
