As a Photoshopper I know that this will only get worse, it's like with Unsharpen Mask, you lose track of what the image is supposed to look like. If one of the great film makers can't tell at this stage then who's gonna tell him? He's a billion dollar man, he's surrounded by yes-men.

Not sure if your post is meant to be a joke, but I think 90% of what you're saying is garbage, as most of your gripes will be completely unnoticeable unless of course you analyze the footage to the extent you have. What I found most hilarious was the annoyance over the FX as there is a large amount of True lies and Aliens with terrible FX, which were completely obvious even back on the day.

Ghost Song is or was in Game Pass - so if its in there, do that instead of buying it on Steam - also, I couldn't finish it, I found that problem the combat to be a deal break. Shame, the tone and atmosphere of the game and the story are all really rather great. Better than Hallow Knights sucking off of Dark Souls 1.

That version of Aliens looks surprisingly good, anally rententive nit picking aside! I love that AI can unNetflix movies and TV shows to make them endurable for normal audiences, especially audiences in Asia who are not into having black people shoe horned into every single frame for no other reason than dIvErSiTy or tHe mEsSaGe. We don't watch American made stuff anymore because we watch TV and movies to escape reality, not to be beaten with political talking points. So AI has fixed a LOT of shows now.

Ive gone back to a 4k player, simple 2 channel stereo speaker/marantz amp set up. I found speech was a mess using a "dolly atoms" soundbar, which I think is all just marketing BS. Now, I buy blue rays (mostly), and let the player upscale it to 4k 24p, My theory is at least with blue you might be lucky it was of a time when studios put in the effort for a decent home theatre transfer. I have the old 2004 Aliens BR boxset, and Alien looks amazing. This AI upscaling is awful, and at best, they need to not do any "restorations", until the AI is better. Or just do a decent more manual clean up and transfer.

I disagree about that part in the beginning about RE4 - the horror is turned way down. Not RE5 down or RE6 down to zero, but still. The early parts do it right, but once you leave the first third of the game, or first quater (whatever percentage the first town and immediate surrounding areas are) it's basically just RE5 but usually handled somewhat better.

Zero effort for making some more profits.

I think they're making it look shit so we get used to it, so we don't notice when everything becomes AI. Plus when the 600 series has rubber skin we won't spot them easy.

Absolutely agree on the fact that misuse of AI leads to poor quality remasters, the blame goes to film-makers and the industry seeking cheap cash-ins w/o eye for quality and not to the AI itself though. AI is just a tool, it's how it is being used which is to blame for this Sh!7😢

T2 4k was the only time ignored a review. It's what I look for and compare when some one reviews a 4k remaster. blu ray is fine anyway for some of these 80 and 90s movies.

Thank you! I'm sticking with regular Bluray, then. On a side note, I recently got Terminator 2 on Bluray, with scenes that were cut, inserted back into the movie. Once any of the low quality cut scenes started playing did I realize how much Bluray release botched lighting and colours. I know it's called "Bluray" but must it have so much blue in it? Sunlight doesn't feel like sunlight anymore, it's no longer yellowish and warm but blueish and cold. Wish those scenes weren't in my version of Bluray, because now I crave for a version with original colours. They fucked it up.

The only way 7 looked back was in slowing it down and making a bit more horror focuses since the back half of 4 and everything after that put action first. In terms of gameplay, it's taking the innovations and evolutions that western, mostly indie creators did to the horror games genre, and doing it at a high caliber and with a few things its own. I very much enjoyed it and was not happy to hear that 8 went more action focused (like it was the 4 then 5 thing all over again). That said - RE4 but first person and somewhat like RE7 makes this an easier recommend for a sale or Game Pass play come October towards the end of this year. Still not that excited to play it, but I would rather play fpRE4 over that RE4 remake that is mostly just the same game I played already on ps2, then x360 and then PC again. Three times is enough - I don't think eve really enjoyed it the third time, it was more "something to play because I need something to play, the neurodivergence must be fed a sacrifice!". Anyway, in terms of future - RE7 sold about 13m units and RE8 sold 9.3m (the remakes have fared relatively worse, with 4 doing the best and at 7m as of this posting and 2 and especially 3 being a chunk below that). I think it's hard to say exactly where it goes from here since I don't see RE5/6 remakes being in demand (unless 5 goes way more horror focused, 6 would need to be basically entirely retconned or something), and given the success of the actual sequels, first person and with a more balances approach seems to work for them. At any rate, I don't know that anything that close third-person or first person works well for horror, because otherwise you see too much end with the sort of action-horror where the horror is just window dressing and that doesn't lead to long term success. Something more RE7 like seems most likely for 9, but hey - they like to drive the series into shyt just regularly enough maybe the think RE4 repeated once again is the key.

Don't cut Babu Friq. He (and his species) were the best thing to come from Rise of Skywalker.
