im from the US, like basketball, and I like the olympics and want USA to win gold in everything. With all that said, USA Basketball is not interesting to me. I am more interested in NBA players going back to their national teams and trying to carry their country to a gold. The narrative of Luka going for it with Slovenia after gutting out a finals is interesting, Gobert and Wemby in the Eiffel Towers, Jokic and an impressive Serbia team going for gold, Joe Ingles and Patty Mills running it back for Australia! These things are all itneresting to me, and more, like the Antetekoumpos in Greece, making the tournament. the USA is this juggernaut of talent that wins uninspiringly, or loses uninspiringly. I feel no joy or surprise or relief, all these positive emotions that come with being a sports fan watching your team wins when watching USAB. and its not that I dont care about Gold Medals in general, I love the olympics, i love to root for USA in weird sports I've never followed outside of the olympics. But USA Basketball is just not interesting to me.
