Remove the panel and take a very close look to all parts. Cables are hitting to the door maybe. ,wrap the cables with soft cover if they are touching the door.

When you remove the door panel, there is two or three cables make sure they are not loose and not touching the doors. They can make noise always.

About the rang rover ,unfortunately will mot work more than 5 years. Problem with this engine is they are very complicated and every time engine gets over heated you have to give up the car or change the engine to be a safe and you can use it again. Very nice car but engine very hard to replace

thank you so much i ask because i bought a preowned one and on the way the gasket blew but the dealer says once i replace it will not occur again but i was never comfortable .i suggested a replacement or a new engine

Put some wd40 always if you think will get stuck. But if you are in highway and you need to have access to spare tire then you have to brake that screw anyhow.

Even water ,any type of lubricant can make it easier to unscrew

No. That one ((bottom one )) it’s attached to the panel. It’s designed that way. It doesn’t come off. It comes off only with whole panel

I don’t have any manual for any car or parts. I always look first. Grab a flash light and take a look very close on any part ,and then have tight tools and go a head.

sorry for late answer. unfortunately 90% of jaguar and rang rover land rover engines (all are same ) after over heating has to be replaced,its very hard to rebuild the engine. all the engines coming from jaguar company and they have special design.

the clicking noise means your cylinder has crack , or, one of pistons has to replace it’s very complicated engine. need to take the engine out and inspect it and it’s better to take it to machine shop the can inspect

Very bad to hear, damm. One last bet you have is take out the spark plugs and pour trans fluid or “marvel mystery oil” down in each cylinder, then turn the engine over by hand from the crank pully, going back and fourth at first till you get it free.. If you can get it to turn chances are it’ll run again.. It’s not the prefect way but replacing the engine on a older depreciated car isn’t worth it unless you are gonna keep it forever, if it does end up running I would drive it till it fails completely,, I love the Jag XJ:)

Symptoms you have it’s looks like head gasket. For this type of engine you should be professional or take it to professional.
