Interesting times with Emma starting her new role. Sarina Wiegman made a point of saying she wanted an identity for England's style of play and not to change tactics too much as this could be more confusing to the team than the opposition, especially within a game. This seemed like a response to how Emma Hayes has spoken of being able to pick players to play different tactics within games. She spoke of defeating how a team with an identity would play, by nullifying them and then overcoming them, having either tired them or settled them into a pattern of play and then changing it up a level.

Same with Brazil on the men's side. Each year that they dont win the World Cup, its almost like the nation is in mourning.

Hello Sam and Roger. I watched the full thing, as usual, but partly because I subscribed to a channel from a married couple from the KC area for a couple of years and was interested to see more. Sam needs to add her favourite Yorkshire puddings to all that beef as one of the international dishes. Everyone involved, keep up the causes for great celebrations. With that throw, has Sam considered a return to playing, but as a goalkeeper, or instead starting a women's cricket team?

Totally support the pride cause. However, I have questions about transgender playing with the gender they identify with. Interested in hearing more about how to do this since men are typically larger and stronger. I just don't want to see girls hurt. Currently professional sports have rules that you play with your birth gender.

Emma Haye's pressers were fantastic ---- very emotionally intelligent and caring --- also loved the Americanism of slowing down the attack by "showing patience" -- seemed Emma had never encoutered that and then right after that mentioned some one said 'we have to put the pedall to the metal' ---- and so Emma tried to echo that by saying 'you have to put the pedal on the metal' --- and someone said to never use that expressio again -- everyone in the pressroom roared.

Hey Sam, Lily's presence in the midfield reminds me of you. It's been a while since we've had that Boss in the midfield.

People confuse introvert with shy. So I would say to make sure you can differentiate that with yourself and/or your children. In a nutshell, an introvert tends to be more queit but not because of shyness, but because they gain energy, or spend energy the best when interactng with others in smaller settings. This doesn't mean an introvert can't give a speach at the ESPYs or something like that - it just means they are probablly going to not feel energized after doing it. So, Becky describes this idea to a T. This next idea i think is so key. Parents and coaches overvalue this idea of being "the leader", but the truth is, you can't have 23 leaders. I think before we teach leadership, we should focus on teaching our kids and adults for that matter how to be the best "responder" or "team player". The over hype on leadership seems like a waste because in your entire lifetime you will be the responder/team player far more often than you will be the leader. And I find the best leaders are the people who are the absolute best responders/team players. Lastly, nobody should wait to wear the armband. Its a great idea to have your child think of somethng they are either good at, or passionate about, and then ask the people in leadership if you could help out (sort of like a junor leader) in that speciifc area. Most leaders would love this - when you are in leadership there are just some tasks that arne't the best use of your time, and so this is just a win win. We've all probably been under a leader who wasn''t ready for the position, and that is not good for anyone. It shakes confidence, it creates mistrust, etc. So this gives you or your kid a smaller stage to gain confidence within, to show that they can be a leader amongst their peers, and prepare them in a way that is gradual. I love this discussion and I think Becky is a top-notch human being, she is a great example of a leader who values the team player, as she herself is the best team player. And, even at the age of 50 yeas old I learn from leaders like Becky, and I call her a role model.
