Sorry to hear about your Grandpa, but I am glad you are getting some of his models. I lost my Dad back in 2019 and he was in his late '80's. I ended up with a ton of his models and I am showing some of them on my other CZcams channel - Monster Hobbies Model Car Garage. I hope you can join me on that channel because it's all dedicated to model cars and I have some good videos there that would help you out, like painting the model car with a paint brush and how to sand the tread of your model car tires.

Thank you for watching the video. The kit does come with some custom options as it was originally a 2 in 1 kit. The options include a custom V8 engine and the option to lower it. Sadly, nothing for a hood scoop punch-out because the engine has a circular air cleaner, but for a blower option, you could try getting the AMT 1940 Ford Coupe and using the blower from that kit on the top of the intake manifold of the Plymouth kit's V8.

Glad you like these old videos. The only issue is that the original Aurora Monster Series was done in 1/8th scale, while the Monster Scenes were done in 1/13th scale. - However, if you have Doll House items in 1/12th scale, the monster Scenes figures should work in that size. Someone gave me a doll house with a bunch of furniture and other items. When I get the chance, you KNOW the doll house is getting the full blown monster treatment! LOL!

Pit lanes and switches can be tricky. First, check that the gates are opening and closing correctly. Second, it may be the guide keels on the cars themselves and may need a little reshaping at the front with a file or sandpaper to make the front of the keel a little thinner and more arrow shaped to help direct the car into the groove. Other than that, there could be a defect in the track parts. Third - if all else fails, contact Carrera. They might have a solution neither of us has thought about, or even give you a replacement part if it's under warranty. Best of luck.

@@monsterhobbiesonlinestore thanks a lot for your response. I’ve tried different guide keels as well. I believe it’s not opening all the way. It’s opening up literally almost but just hair off. I checked my other pit entry cause I have a double pit lane. That one I can see a slight difference as it opens 100% and never an issue with that one. So not sure if something got inside the gate somewhere and preventing it to open 100% I’ve never had any issue with my double lane change til this point . I will also do some filing on the guide keel see if I can make some adjustments there.

I think it was a weak spot for sure.

Thank you for the info. I like the 1953-1956 Ford F-100's. I just never bought the Monogram 1956.

It's basically a copy of the points system used in vintage auto racing from the real world 1960's Formula 1 points system. From memory, the first place winner gets something like 15 points for coming in first, second place is 10 points, third place is 7 points...and reducing as you go along until the last place driver gets 1 point. Since we usually did 8 races in a night on the same track, I tallied up all the driver's points for each of the 8 races and then ranked the drivers scores on the final chart of the night. So if you were a really good driver and you came in first in all 8 races for the night, you would get 120 points. If you had a "Mixed Night, you could get between 9 - 119 points in a night, and if you totally messed up the entire night, you would get 8 points. Secondly, we would race between 8 or 9 races over the 2 months of the league (every Thursday night) and the points from each night of racing would get added up across the board. Therefore, the guy finishing first over the 8 racing nights (2 months) would end up with 960 points for the league while the worst driver would get 64 points. Once all these league points were added up at the end of the league season, I could announce the league winners.

Yes I think I was of those unfortunates I was just lucky I paid 3 dollars for it At a thrift store and it was sealed ..

Well...at least the price was right. I wonder how hard it would have been to order replacement parts. I have a Heller kit, sealed in box, with a missing wheel. Luckily, the car had 5 wheels, one being the spare, but |I'm not sure how easy getting a replacement part from France to Canada is going to be.

It works much like radio control with each car being set to each controller individually. Therefore, their placement on the track does not matter. It is the internal chip of the car that picks up the signal from the controller. Car 1 = Controller 1, Car 2 = Controller 2, car 3 = controller 3, and so on.

@@monsterhobbiesonlinestore You got it. I would usually coat the 1/4 panels on my 1/1 hot rods with Vaseline to combat this effect. It's very difficult to clean off, as you might imagine.

You are correct. It's from gaps between the top and bottom of the mold and plastic being able to squeeze through. - I think I really need to script these unboxing videos. I'll try and do better in 2024.

Yes, I think these cars are at the same airport, just at a different side. I also think the AMT Silhouette kit box art is from the same location, just a different elevation.
