Inspired by my older brother Ian Nyquist, I got a wide idea to try to run a marathon distance. No Training, no stretching, and no preparation. Turns out I did it ALL WRONG. congrats @casey on achieving your life goal. I, too know the pain and utter frustration with striving for a decades long goal. check out my electric streamliner project for bonneville. P.S. grt your brother posting more. lo...

Carbon frame be nice see
i am getting a alta mx redshift where can i get a battery replacement or service on the battery if needed thank you
I like the build, really like you can still use the BMX as BMX should be. I built a few EBMX bikes but most you could never style like that, Mine were more street rocket and too I use BMX frame to build electric mini bikes for kids. just using a direct drive hub motor on the rear. I feel ya on the delivery wait time, especially when it is the wrong part. I would had likely been looking around town at auto part shops to find a belt to do the job.
How much money did the controller batteries and mottar?
The wall thickness are more critical than infill.
Since the forces are pretty localized at the font. The infill takes most of the load. It would be best to just do 100% infill, but im lazy and impatient
Awesome results! What is the clearance between both molds?
Beautiful.
I’m watching this again, after a year. I’m keen to try nylon filament and 14 gauge(2mm) cold rolled steel. 😑🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🇦🇺☮️🍀
Oh man!!! Ive seen people use gyroidal infill and the fill it with epoxy. Good luck!
I know u got a sunburn on ur face after welding
Just a base tan. Hahaha
for brass you should anneal it before,it would give even bettter results
Сначала подумал, что это кореш негоды 😂
Hi. Subscribe your channel. Just want to know you run jigsaw machine without any attachment or with any attachment to vibrate sand
Iconic ✨ quality content ✨ Josh and I loved this! And as a runner I really appreciated the joy, fun, adventure, and courage you brought in this :)
Think I'm going to try slightly thicker but softer aluminum. The stuff from ACE doesnt tell you the grade but I think its hardened. I see some 1000 and 3000 series stuff near me that is hardened.
It did seem like it has some spring back to it. I would beef up the infill!
Yeah, we are printing 100% infill right now. I got some 3000 series unhardened Alum, see what happens.@@sheanyquist
Thickness?
👍💓!!
Wat is dat een dom wijf zeg
Здравствуйте. Какой песок вы используете??
you doing will we love you.
You know klapper
nice work man. i was surprised you cut those curves on the bandsaw. was wondering what you did. Welds look nicely stacked too. Very satisfying tick/tock on the flip up and down. cheers
The end result looks great. 3D printed tooling is being used a lot now and there are materials such as Nylon (printed via SLS) that work very well even after hundreds of pressings. Thanks for sharing this video 👌👍
Looks familiar! I yelled at you for the Chuck key like you’d hear me.
Hahahaha!!! Its fine!
DIY insures you get it the way you want.
Nice hand-made pegs, but computer laser beam peg tabs, just let a computer do your work, then
Hahaha! Yeah, aint nobody got time for hand cutting brackets!
Who are you talking to, telling you this would be easy? That level of optimism should be harnessed somehow. For energy or for science.
Hahaha, its been a long road!!!! Thanks for the comment!
this is Amazzzzing !!!!! Shea One Man Army, you should run all EV companies who dont know what the shi**t they are doing ;-)
Cheers. Congrats on the ride. glad you didnt pop a tire lol and found that short easy enough. always impressive stuff man.
Just curious if that would go easier if you annealed the metal before obviously you need to allow it to cool and would possibly need to polish after
More than likely. I would anneal it if i was going for a deeper embossing for sure
This is exactly the kind of content the electric motorcycle world needs. Keep it up!
I might need to make an aero kit for soon, any ideas?
@@sheanyquist you would be most welcome here.
Pro Trick: Before laying up the mold, mix Caposil (polyester powder) with catalyzed resign into a paste, then fill all the sharp corners of the mold with the paste... then lay-up the part, it'll all kick-off together and you'll be bubble free, with nice firm corners! Tip: fiberglass cloth never lays down right, as it doesn't fully saturate with resin, like fiberglass mat! ..and I'm digging the new ride!
Kinda thought i should do some cab to start, but only thought if it when i was half way done. Hahaha. Thanks for commenting!
Your a beast, love it! I'm warming up to a simple future build, chopper style/BMX/MTB
Me too! Ive been itching to do something cool like the gville days!
Loooow rider
Bad luck bro the controller fry u do nice work I subcr
Not really bad luck, more like bad engineering. Hahaha thabjs for the sub
👍😊
Shea lets make the next one soon;-) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha, its coming along!
Love the polycarbonate window showing the batteries.
Thanks, it makes for some eye candy on a big aluminum box
Yeah those v shape busbars with red balance wires look awesome @@sheanyquist
@toriwatson9655 if you look closely, i stutched them into the seat, just to tie it all together
@@sheanyquist that's right, I remember now that that was the inspiration for the stitching pattern, going to be one hell of a bike.
Keep going like the videos
Thanks!!!! I got more coming
Oh no! I used a Kelly controller on my NEV and isolated grounds for 12V DC/DC and HV per the manual. I burnt a few controllers over the years, I feel your pain. Kelly are notoriously finicky. Enjoying the build!
I dont think the 12v shared ground was the issue, i have ridden it since and it seems to be ok. Ill keep you posted!!!
Magic Smoke is my nemesis, installing quad Sylvania Silverstar headlight in my '86 Blazer fried the wire loom necessitating a rewiring the entire front of the truck.
Need to make a device that captures it and injects it back in!
@@sheanyquist I knew you would come up with a workaround!
Never ground to chassis high voltage vehicles. My zero is not grounded, nor my surron or my stealth bomber, and that's in case if one of the motor phase goes to ground, you don't mess up the controler
I kinda miss spoke. I didnt ground the actual bike. I share the 12v and 120v ground. I call 12v ground chassis. Zero doesnt use an isolated dcdc so it too, uses a shared 12v ground. Its only a risk if you have a higher HV leg short to ground. I have wirebonds to take care of that
@sheanyquist ok, that makes sense
I could feel your pain when you fried that controller. hard to watch. glad you are continuing to post. was that a hawthorn at the end? nice one lol
Ive been filming for the last year, i just have so many projects and full time work. Its been pretty crazy! I'll have more videos coming out soon! I think that was a 2 x 4 splinter! It was deep!
@@sheanyquist ouch. That was nasty. I hear you. Work gets in the my way all the time. Got a couple welding projects in the works. Winter projects. Nothing as cool as you though. Awesome stuff man. Cheers
@@stevesrt8 i love watching your projects! That last coin one was inspiring!
It’s ALIVE!
FOR NOW!!! hahaha
Sorry for the controller!. Use a shulmotor controller. Its vesc based so you can set it as u like.👍
It was a stupid mistake on my part. I haven't found a 600A vesc yet, and 120vdc. Ive used them in the past. I love the open source nature
@@sheanyquist they have a 700amp controller at 126vdc. 1400 phase Amp.🙂
@smelkshide1700 looks like a good alternative. Similar pricing though.
That was really cool, but some hints for your video production. It would be good if you gave more details about the process, materials and resources. For instance, what material was that? PLA? What gap did you leave between the dies to allow for the metal to form? How about a link to your guy's trike. Now I have to go search for V8 trike. Is he on CZcams?
thanks for the incite! My brain is focusing on design and building, and sometimes it's hard for me to really focus on storytelling. Mike Leeds is not on CZcams, I dont even think hes on social media. I will share some more of his builds soon
@@sheanyquist do you no what file you use to make this?
Nice build
putting it on a bmx actually makes the most sense, since the whole pedalling with just one gear can really f*** you up when your trying to go somewhere, and having some assistance takes away the biggest drawback from the bmx.
Got the vid notification while on holiday then forgot about it. Sweet build! great vid too. I need to find a camera man lol. Cheers
Hahaha, ill take what i can get for now!
HI i realize im late to the party but i didnt happen to hear mention of what material you used for this 3d print?
Petg esun black
@@sheanyquist so cool thanks!
How about plastic print the shape, cast ceramic mold around it, then cast alu in the ceramic mold and voila, you have a metal die.
That's just got to be Hella fun.
It is! Its pretty riding quietly through the woods!
