It's a show, not a movie, but My Mad Fat Diary is about the "ugly" girl getting the guy! (Not that I think Sharon Rooney is ugly, she's gorgeous, but it's the basic premise of the show lol) It's one of my favorites, I'd definitely recommend it. The characters are teenagers though, unfortunately, if you're looking for something more adult-oriented.

First of all, please don't begrudge Emma her blonde hair, and Cortana. I think Emma wins and Tessa loses. Clary is still my favourite, just ahead of Emma. Unfortunately, Tessa lacks a real storyline of her own. It's like Clary 2.0, a repeat of the story. Will as Jace's copy, Jem as Simon's replacement. Tessa has so much potential, except for the shape-shifting.
