The soundtrack to my childhood in the 80s. Lived next to a main line. The 37s wobbled my stomach, until we got double glazing. Also had a loft layout, with live soundtrack from the big railway. Long before digital sound locos!

Beautiful locomotives. My favourite of the nez cassés because of the single pantograph. I've got a collection of LS Models BB15000s. The models really capture the look of these wonderful beasts. Thanks for the great and informative upload!

43:04 Nice to see 1855 plus some ex NMBS K4 stock - they were only used on the Den Haag - Venlo IC services between 2000 and 2002 - and again at 47:27 with 1761

An absolutely wonderful video. Great to see such quality video of the SNCF classes and brings back happy memories of the CFL ones. It is not only a superb compilation, but a great historical record. I wonder why those BB16500 always seemed to be dead in tow!

I was stood to the right and filming hand held next to the photographer who wisely chose a tripod. Has to be one of the most memorable shots. Made it to watch them arrive at Exmouth too.

Class 37 locos ain’t foreign it’s a English loco there the best locomotives to be ever built faithful tractors and growlers never skipped a beat till this day there still going 💯💪🏻

Im not a coinissuire of French traction but I am guessing that being mostly electric like the rest of the continent that the reason vintage UK diesel traction went over was because a, they where cheap and b, most things diesel they had natively where just shunters/switchers with not enough grunt and speed to get the job done? Also some very interesting ops there both lines working in same direction and also 2 trains in section, one going up the hill and one at the bottom? I know it had 4 tractors on it but there is abit of a runaway risk with such a heavy load and steep incline+

The long camera panorama south of Mallaig was incredible. Made the whole program worth it!
