I have heard before that a taxi mot is more stringent than a normal mot for the average car, and sometimes it will show no mot when you check it out but the taxi does have a mot but a special one. As for the driver, that was just impatience and trying too much to make the gap and not looking into the junctuon properly, probably A pillar blind spot as well.

If the taxi plate (issued by the council) on the back of the car is in date then that will class as it's MOT.

Wait a second. Is this video about cars not stopping at the right line coming from cyclists? Cyclists that are the ones that mostly completely disregards ANY rules. Especially red lights.. Clean in front of your own door step first.. I almost got killed by a cyclist crossing the road on a crossWALK when i was riding my motorcycle... Just look for M.O.T. check on line. I had a look and it says last M.O.T. in July 2022 on the UK government web site. If i am going to buy a car i always check the M.O.T. history of the car some of which should have been scrapped.

There are a few reason I can think of: 1 - protected identity. 2 - police or other governmental agency vehicle. Apart from the obvious "fake plates" of course.

Yes as cyclists we should comply with the law and not cycle through red lights. It is perfectly legal though to dismount and walk to the pavement and then cross the road as a pedestrian. In some countries cyclists are permitted to treat a red light as a give way sign (e.g. France and Canada), but not in the UK.
