    The floor looks awesome with these shoes. The background would be much better if it was showing the game play footage. I. Noticed you stop, every time you go to take a shot. You should try walking and shooting at the same time as well. So we can see how well the shoes perform while in action. I honestly think these shoes you have are the best I have seen thus far in any VR walking solutions currently available. Keep up the good work. I will continue to follow and prehaps purchase me a pair of em when they're ready for consumers. Thanks! Have a wonderful day!

    Excited for the continuous development of this! It has to be the best solution as of today for VR movement, treadmills while it looks cool are too bulky. I hope you manage to continue to improve the comfort and be able to make it as close as walking naturally.

      @@FreeaimVR I agree but in terms of a support rig (whilst you need it) it would be better imho. Probably to expensive to sell a rig like that with the Freeaim VR Shoes and it might just sit in the corner once you get comfortable.

      @@user-jy9bd5oz7t Hi, yes absolutely, we will provide a training rig, and we're working to make that as simple, compact and affordable as possible. Initially we intend to include this and once we have enough users and safety data we can eventually sell the shoes on their own and that will help us to lower the price, but that would take a while. Rig is not very like the Omni one, but we will share more details about it soon.

    • @FreeaimVR
      @FreeaimVR Před 23 dny

      Just like with regular VR, you should rely on the guardian boundary to ensure you don't step outside your playspace. The shoes have automatic position correction that constantly and gradually bring you back to the center. The shoes have rotating drive modules that make it so they can move you sideways. The shoes can speed up or slow down a little bit to keep you near the center.

  • @themetal2244
    @themetal2244 Před měsícem

    Would it be feasible to fit inductive charging coils into the design of the shoes? If you could get them close enough to the bottom, you might be able to power the shoes without wires with a large mat containing a charging coil, which would be really cool. This would be rather expensive to build I assume, but maybe something to consider for future product offerings?

    • @themetal2244
      @themetal2244 Před měsícem

      Not sure what the current design of the shoes looks like on the bottom, but if you only have motorized wheels on each end maybe there would be space to put a coil in the middle? I feel like not being power constrained by battery life would also potentially enable stronger motors to compensate for bigger movements, which could enable full on running even. You could also cut the battery size drastically for some space savings, since the shoes would only need minimal power storage for when your feet are lifted above the charging mat.

    • @FreeaimVR
      @FreeaimVR Před 23 dny

      Yes it would probably be very expensive so we're not considering it at this time. Inductive charging is also not as fast as through a wire so it's questionable if it's worth it with a lower charging rate. Plus the batteries are swappable. Give your eyes a 5 minute break every couple of hours and swap the batteries out.

      @FreeaimVR Před měsícem

      Hi. Backwards walking isn't supported yet but will be before the consumer release. The shoes have position correction to keep the user in the center of their playspace. For Steam VR you just install our driver and the shoes should work with all games that support smooth locomotion (you may need to set up an input binding too).

      @@FreeaimVR thats awesome hopefully the model/product is able to be slimmed down a bit because in my opinion its a bit bulky, I love that backwards walking is in the idea process. Like many others have said this seems like the best option for someone who wants a omni tredmill that doesnt take up space and doesn’t destroy your wallet in the process, What do you think your consumer product will be priced at? Around 300-700? You have to take into account many people will buy their VR for around that sometimes so its a better price than the 1500$+ range for on the market omni treds (EDIT) looked into it and it says its for 5k for businesses and 1000$ for consumer in the future, im not sure how many will order this instead of a full tredmil set up when its only a few hundred dollars more…….for the tredmill like the other guy said i would happily do a product review/ test of it and upload it online, but im sure you wouldn’t be interested because i am not a huge influencer, But either way I think your idea is a great one and ill try to buy it when it comes out ♥️

    • @FreeaimVR
      @FreeaimVR Před měsícem

      We're a small startup and around $1000 is what we think we can do for now. As we scale we believe we can drop the price. I'm not sure why you'd want a full treadmill setup for more money over the VR shoe setup when the VR shoes provide a much better experience. You don't just get the VR shoes, we're also planning on providing a frame and possibly a floor mat. So you also get a "full setup" with the VR shoes.

    • @FreeaimVR
      @FreeaimVR Před měsícem

      Backwards walking will be implemented before the consumer version is released. For strafing, the shoes have rotating drive modules. You can take a few sidesteps and then when you walk forward the shoes will bring you back to the center. You can see that here: czcams.com/video/PoIr0Ba0zpQ/video.htmlsi=X1k5HMl2HkmWEfq1&t=172 So they don't do continuous strafing, but they can move you sideways after taking a few steps. We're most likely going to have some gesture options too. For example, you can lift one heel while standing still to walk backwards, or put your foot out to the side at an angle to strafe, or lift your knee really high to jump.

These I could use if I were sitting in my wheelchair because I can move my legs at the hip and somewhat move my knees, so this could allow me to hypothetically walk in VR because it doesn't require a standing harness like the kat walk or others similar. Sorry this is a bit off topic, and I've mentioned this before to some degree, but I definitely think a video showcasing VRChat, especially with full-body tracking, would be great for marketing and appeal to one of the largest markets you could aim for. VRChat players spend a lot on immersion-enhancing accessories, and if your product has Quest standalone compatibility, that expands your potential user base even further. You mentioned the microphone catching audio, but this is a common issue with omni-treadmills regardless, and many users are either mute or don't mind. The general movement pace in VRChat fits well with your product, as most time is spent walking, standing around, or sitting nearby. Full-body users, in particular, who often invest in immersive accessories, would likely appreciate and enjoy the enhanced expressive movement your product offers. I hope you consider creating a video showcasing your product with VRChat, especially towards its release. A video demonstrating full-body tracking in VRChat, along with a strong social media presence, could generate a lot of interest and excitement. It would be great to see how your product enhances the VRChat user experience!

    Can you run or walk backward with this shoes?

    • @FreeaimVR
      @FreeaimVR Před 2 měsíci

      The shoes can go up to around a jog. This is the current max speed of the shoes: czcams.com/video/JAYVDkn9W5A/video.htmlsi=LgLs1PqoUyRk9Zvl&t=379 We don't have backwards walking yet, but we will have it implemented before the consumer version is released.

    I wonder if Disney will release their 360 treadmill into some shoes?

      With how large the platform is underneath all of the rotating discs, it would probably be hard to miniaturize that tech into shoes.

      What games? Right now we support Steam VR but we plan on supporting other platforms.

      @@FreeaimVR update openxr without steamVR may not be piority because some minor games have such issues. games such as Manneuin, of lies and rain which made on standalone major do not work with steamVR. The Riese Project performance is very bad with Steam VR, those problems are caused by the games not steamVR But If Freeaim software supports Meta Airlink(without steamVR) will increase library of supported games much larger (Also can play old oculus PC games as well). You may consider support it after support standalone, PSVR

      We will release an SDK for developers and 1:1 movement should be possible.
