Elvis Costello & the Attractions, Boston & Detroit 1978 - Reupload
03/04/2024 - Re-upload to improve the crap sound of the original upload. Sorry about that!
Pro shot in Boston and Detroit 1978 and some backstage chatter. Also see Geraldo Rivera, Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe, EC and the Attractions in a American supermarket buying beer, avocados and olives. I believe this was shot for a possible segment on "20/20," but it never aired.

Elvis was king with his first 5 albums and cemented himself as a prolific songwriter with a slant for the human experience giid, bad, and ugly. No one does angry and spit spiteful like EC. He grew as an artist and this still came through from time to time. He still gives a wonderful concert without a lot of chitter chatter but enough to let the audience know how he feels that particular night. Music Artists that grow stay valid where ever they are. Elvis Costello fan since 1977 and following.

They weren't a good live band compared to their peers, listless and dull. No power in their sound, the band plays like session musicians who lack enthusiasm. But Kilimanjaro is a fantastic album that still sounds great today.

as a teen elvis was king, his frist 5 albums were groundbreaking after he went county he lost his way. the clash will always be my favorite band for their left wing pro revolution political stance, but in terms of music, early elvis and the attractions are the greatest. Elvis also produced a great album, the specials first album, from 77-81 Elvis was king!

i gave up on Elvis after "Punch the Clock" myself; both "Trust" and "Imperial Bedroom" were strong albums with far more musicality than the early albums. After his divorce, his songwriting declined significantly because he couldn't mine his adulterous, horndog personal life for song ideas.

It’s difficult to regard a person as great whose opinion of himself went so far beyond his real abilities, but there’s something unique about Julian Cope in his Teardrop Explodes days. I haven’t decided whether he’s daft for taking a pass all these years on the millions he’d have earned doing reunion tours with the Teardrops, or if he simply has _so_ much artistic integrity that he must refuse such offers. Some of his persistent megalomania probably factors into it.
