Have you ever converted a MONKFORD Taylor Wimpey loft ?

Looks really amazing. I can’t quite get my head around the layout though. Right hand door onto landing? Middle into walk in and through to the en-suite? So what’s the left hand door? Is that attic space and the cylinder?

Great video. Instead of adding the steel for the floor, can you sister the joists to cope with the increased span?

No strings? Mine has loops of strings that go down the sides.

Great space, similar size to what we ended up with as a master en-suite 5-7.5m, didn’t need to split the rooms so went for the one big room, love it. Our wardrobe isn’t quite up to the size of this one though. Great job Dan and the team, keep it up.

What’s is the loft size ie foot print of this please ? 30 40 50 m2 ?

The timbers your hanging the joists off of, were they existing? Or did you install yhem first?

Why didnt you buiild a jack wall instead on the struts?

Dan I am having dramas with our loft plans with it being a timber framed new build quote has be upped 15-20k Be interesting to see the steel layout to get around no supporting internal walls. That could a video. Great as normal love the videos. ❤

I have a 5 year old "new build" timber frame, generally I feel timber frame home owners are reluctant to look at loft conversions to gain space as they are unsure how it works and may contain unseen costs due to construction type. Can you explain the difference , ie steel placement, loadi gs etc... when there are no massive supportting walls etc.. and what the main difference is between the differing house construction types when looking to convert the loft ?? If there is none please excuse my ignorance ...

I live in Leeds, and I need a rear facing dormer adding to a detached house - I can do all the final fixing and decorating myself, I just need someone do the two RSJs and roofing for me for about 15 sqm of roof and the adjoining walls. What do you reckon cost wise?
