How to build a deck: DIY pallet wood deck build for under $100
In this video I'll show you how to build a DIY pallet wood deck for cheap. This is a above ground deck but it can also be built under ground using the same method if you dig in a little bit. I used 6 pallets to get a final product of about a 12x12 deck. make sure to subscribe for more DIY builds!

Awesome idea! I had to watch it twice because i kept watching the dogs run around! 😂
This looks great! Simple, easy for a beginner and budget friendly. Haters gonna hate. I really like it!
Looks great! The homeowner might just want you to leave it.
Can I do this with the plastic / PVC pallets?
Why not use an impact & screws? It’ll be easier if you have to take it apart.
Great. Ty.
Beautiful 🤩 good job 👏

Great job 👍
Haters gonna hate. Great job!
I have no experience but what type of wood would I need to make a more durable deck like this? I have a 10x10 gazebo Im buying and wanted it to sit atop a deck like this with the deck being about 12x12.
Cedar or a pressure treated pine would be a good option.
I made a deck with plastic pallets. It's been in place now for 3 years. It's literally the exact formula.
How did you nail the top boards to the plastic pallets?
@manowar8075 The plastic pallets required no top boards. Its smooth tops were perfect. I did, however, add outdoor waterproof adhesive and a dry cement method to control the shifting between the pallets. I then topped with a custom size outdoor rug.. i got from Ollies .Be sure to get "free milk or beer pallets" they are the strongest. They also have no holes on the top of the surface..
@@kimberlyt4361 Do you have a picture or video?
Wow! A fantastic short term lasting build for temporary decking. Well done 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾 thank you for sharing 👍🏾
Your Boxer makes a great supervisor, and your Shepherd makes a great inspector ❤
It is possibly, I was able to make one. Not as big, and with inflation it cost a little more, but was cheaper than other methods.
B rillant idea!!!!
U did an amazing job.
What did you use to cut the planks neatly
I love this concept. Thank you for the idea!
😊❤
Great work!!!😊 The finished product looks amazing✨
Just wood laying in dirt 🤔. I give it 3 years.
3 years, for $100 and a little bit of time, well worth it! Especially for something like at a camp, or a temporary solution like in a rental property etc.
Can this be painted to stop the rot?
Use tung oil or a paint stain.
Be nice to work without the distractions of the dogs 😂
Very nice job great work indeed. I will attempt the same. May I ask what size nails did you use?
Nice work! Why are so many people leaving negative comments, what is it you expect for $100? He mentions it temporary and a rental, anyone else have any ideas to build a nice sturdy TEMPORARY deck for $100....would love to hear them....😂
Exactly 🤣
I will be attempting this come spring this is perfect for renters fuck everyone else
The czcams.com/users/postUgkxS-P9OAq3v4HNpPFqYFWNEq9A-E_PbZIN are indeed helpful, and the product is entirely promising if you are looking forward to building a single shed in your home It is entirely different from the other havoc packages that we usually see online and therefore it is such a package beyond expectations!
Trip hazard around the ends?
no you did not get all that wood for under $100
The pallets were free except 4 So you're right. He did not. He mentions that.
Agreed. I bought 25 pieces from Lowe's it costed 5.48 per pressured treated wood piece. I put mine on top of plastic pallets. I would suggest getting plastic pallets.
So How to avoid it rots?
Lift it up off the ground will prolong its life for sure. Even 6 inches will help.
This is a terrible idea for building a deck. I'm not even that knowledgeable in construction or landscaping. But I do know how those pallets are cheap wood that is meant to last a few times before being refurbished. This wood will rot quickly. I give that deck one year before it starts breaking apart.
It's clearly stated that this is meant to be temporary. He's hoping for one year only. He is in a rental, so there is no need for an expensive deck. I built a small temporary deck for my truck camper entrance, hoping for one year. It lasted for three years!
Depends on if they are treated
@@calebc181how do you treat it and prevent it from rotting
My mates ex bf done hers at her place, and it's still going strong. He made a bench and table too. They've not been together for 7 years !
@@christinacraig313 it should have a "HT" stamped on the pallet
Brilliant ✨
3 days???
That is beautiful sir. Fantastic.
Awesome job.
I love it the supervision of the 🐕
I love how ur two doggos are cruising with u every step of this build. ♥️🐶🐶♥️
very nice!
“How to build a deck”…. I watched the video and still don’t know how to build a deck.
Good job.👍
of course two rats humping you to death the entire time.
Did you have your dog bite the overhanging wood? Might be time to invest in a new saw.
Where did you get the wood that you used on top?
The wood in the middle of the deck is from broken down pallets. The boarder I got from a local hardware store in England at the time.
@@luckybourbon9915 awesome thank you.
Awesome job very inspiring… I just figured out how ima level out a part of my garden I’m building
The wood touching the soil will rot in no time. Pallet wood is nearly the lowest quality available. I made sure my wood doesn't touch the ground, it can dry when wet (and soaked in wood treatment even though it was already treated, it's all very weak nowadays). The diagonal is a nice touch, well done.
Cool!!
Nice trip hazard
Ah never encountered a curb or step before 🤔 your an interesting specimen....
