    You should read Gershom Scholem about the corruption of the Rabbis, the problem of modern judaism as Christ points out, is that it is about man made laws rather than God's laws. (This is also related to the Mishnah, Talmud, Zohar etc.)

    Your negative experiences with your fellow Catholics are shocking to me, Daniel. I’m so sorry to hear it. From the first day I set foot in a Catholic church, in 1990, I’ve been warmly welcomed, and marveled over, by so many Catholics. I have never heard a negative remark from anyone about my Jewishness, in all these years. Whenever I have told people at church I’m Jewish, they invariably respond by saying, “Our Blessed Mother was Jewish,” or some other friendly comment. I will say that the Lord tested me in some ways, but not in that way. After my dramatic conversion experience, I was very on fire for Jesus, super-enthusiastic and excited. When I showed up at RCIA every week with a new story - “You won’t believe what Jesus did for me this week,” - the four team leaders and two priests would cringe, knowing that they’d be pestered with questions from some of the 32 others in the class, like, “Does Jesus really do things like that?” Of course, I was oblivious, because I thought every Catholic or would-be Catholic had experiences like I did. At one point the team leaders and priests tried to persuade me that I’d be “happier at Hope Chapel,” which was some kind of new-fangled Christian church. I refused to leave, saying, ”Look, it took an Act of God to get me into this Church, it will take an Act of God to get me out. I’m not leaving.” They were stuck with me, but they did make me wait, so I was not received at the Easter Vigil with my classmates, but six months later, by myself, at a Daily Mass. It was actually wonderful. Everyone lined up to give me a hug, and many gave me gifts. After Mass, a huge group of us went out for breakfast. Along the way I learned that whatever happens to me is God’s Will, and thankfully, the Lord gave me the grace to say, “Fiat,” and not get upset. I would sometimes think about King David, when he was being cursed and insulted by Shimei, a foreshadowing of Our Lord’s suffering, and David’s response when his bodyguard wanted to defend him. “Leave him alone. The Lord told him to say that.” So that’s what I think about the negative experiences you have gone through. The Lord has given you the opportunity to experience rejection, insults, and hatred, just as Jesus Himself did. Your attackers meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. (Gen 59:20) It will strengthen your faith. God bless!

    Absolutely love your answer about Israel/Palestine. I’ll try to remember it, in case anyone asks me. I’m also a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. I was converted by a dream on March 12, 1990. In one instant, I understood that Jesus is real, He’s alive, and He has all the power and all the love! I fell madly in love with my Messiah! It was Jesus who led me to the Catholic Church. I was received into the Church on August 22, 1991. I love being Catholic and being so close to Jesus. Before my conversion, I was never very religious in my life. I was very hard-headed, with a superior attitude towards the “backwards” and “unenlightened” people who followed organized religion. And here I am now, going to Daily Mass, Adoration, praying the rosary, etc. etc. I think the Lord has a great sense of humor. He bypassed my hard head and went straight to my heart! It took a special kind of miracle to convert me, but Jesus cared that much. His grace is truly awesome. I thank God every day for my Catholic Faith. My testimony was first printed in the newsletter of the Association of Hebrew Catholics. When I went to the Holy Land in 1996, I was privileged to meet Fr. Elias Friedman, a convert from Judaism who became a Catholic priest and founded the Association of Hebrew Catholics. He entered the Carmelites, living in community on Mt. Carmel. Meeting him was one of the most exciting events of my pilgrimage. My favorite Jewish prayer is the Kaddish. I memorized it when I first became Catholic. I thought it would please Jesus because it’s in His language, Aramaic, a beautiful prayer praising God. My favorite Catholic prayer is the Liturgy of the Hours, which consists mainly of Psalms. If you aren’t praying the Liturgy of the Hours, I highly recommend it. It is known as the prayer of the Church. Thank you, Daniel, for your marvelous videos. I enjoy them so much. Keep up the good work! God bless!

    Im not seeing the nuance of the argument here. " Protestants cant be right because each group says they are right and the others are wrong. Now let me tell you how my group is right and the others are wrong." Make the argument make sense. Also, isnt the line of Popes fraught with as much politics, lies, and war as any kingship? The instability and abuse of the Popes's authority through extreme violence in history requires a whole video defending that supposition of support.

    • @TheJewishCatholic
      @TheJewishCatholic Pƙed 4 dny

      This is the argument: Christ established a Church and an authority system. This authority helps lead, guide and instruct. Protestantism, through Sola Fide, denies this and in practice it is nothing more than spiritual relativism. The multiplicity of denominations that contradict each other, denounce and reject each other, share opposing views and hold completely different standards for the faith are only symptoms of the main argument.

      You are correct in noting that sharing the Gospel should not be viewed merely as a means to gain converts. Rather, it is an integral part of our duty as believers. We are called to be a light to the nations and to spread the Gospel, but it is disheartening when this mission is executed improperly. The approach to sharing the Gospel is crucial. It is not about coercion, debating every person we meet, or arguing merely to be right. Here is a more effective approach to sharing the Gospel: 1. Live out your faith with integrity. 2. Be well-informed to address questions when they arise. 3. Defend the faith when necessary, such as in a constructive debate. 4. Create resources to assist those seeking information (e.g., books, videos, blog posts, social media). 5. Pray for the world's conversion. 6. Invite friends to gatherings or events in an honest and open manner. 7. Trust that it is God who transforms hearts; our role is to present the Gospel, not to convert individuals. These guidelines are intended to assist Christians who earnestly desire to help others develop a deeper relationship with God.

We are trying to help people accept the Grace of Avinu She'bashamaim. Are we supposed to just hide the Or and never talk about it? Even if you've not accepted Yeshua son of Miriam as who He was and Is, even as a "normal" Jew, we are supposed to spread the word of Hashem. Why would you expect or want Jews not to do so?

    "Paul condemns them in 1 Corinthians 11 4-7" Messianic Jewish theologian David Stern has an interesting take on that when you read the actual Greek. If I can find my copy of the Messianic Manifesto I will tell you about it (my house caught fire 2 months ago and I am still digging threw the wrechage). Quote"God right so that's why I tell people all the time there is a difference between Israel and being a Jew you could be a Jew and be a Muslim you could be a Jew and be an atheist you can be a Jew and be a Catholic but to be Israel you have to be in Covenant".-Father Elias Fredman author of JEWISH IDENTITY and founder of the Association of Hebrew Catholic has the opposite view. For him a Jew was a Hebrew or Israelite who was under the Old Covenant or joined the Old Covenant. An atheist "Jew" was a Secular Hebrew or Secular Israelite. A Catholic Jew was a Hebrew Catholic or Hebrew Christian or Israelite Christian. True be told I LIKE YOUR VIEW better.....so do a lot of other Jewish Catholics I know. Many even members of the Association of Hebrew Catholics. Roy Scholmen once criticized this view by saying "I was a Jew when I didn't believe in God. I was still a Jew when I came to believe but I didn't become a Catholic just to call myself a Hebrew I am still a Jew even as a Catholic." I paraphrase that from memory. I heard him say that at the Hebrew Catholic Conference in NYC about 25 years ago?" Anyway cheers mate. Shalom. Keep up the good work son.

      On 1 Cor 11:4-7 I think Stern argued the Greek word means waring a veil for a man? An "uncovered" man is a man not wearing any type of veil. But a Kepha or something to that effect is not the same. It's sort of like verses that condemn "Long Hair" on men and some Baptists read then and reject pictures of Jesus with his hair down to his shoulders. Well "long hair" in that culture meant you had hair down to yer waist. Big difference.

      You mean tzitzyot (plural of tzitzit). We don’t have to. Yes we could wear them. They would have to be in a 4 square garment. Very much like the original brown Scapular
. But with tassels on the corners.

    Thank you so much for answering my question on the headcoverings. I did want to explicitly specify male headcovering but unfortunately Instagram questions has a very limited letter count. As a fellow Jewish Catholic it's so nice to have your channel to look to when I have questions on how to be Jewish and how to practice the faith. Just be careful to pick a color that doesn’t make you look like a Bishop, a Cardinal or the Pope! (No white, scarlet, or purple.) The Catholic version is called a zucchetto, but they look the same as yarmulkes to me.

    Catholicism and Orthodox Judaism are extremely compatible . They both have a series of rituals in which the manipulate God . Their concept of God is very materially bound.

    The Bible is the inspired word of God. 1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” Luke 1:46-47 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 1 Corinthians 10:4 “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” 1 Samuel 2:2 “There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Mark 7:7. “Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” 1 Timothy 4:3 “Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.” 2 Timothy 3:15 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 1Ti 3:2 - A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Tit 1:7 - For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; (1000+ victims of 300 priests in Pennsylvania alone) Hosea 6:6 “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” Rev 3:16 - So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
