Which fuse was it you didn't point it
Talk too much
Nice job great video
I have a 03 F150. Mine just started whining. But only when I put on the gas. I wonder if that is my issue. Hmm.
Belt tensioner, just got done changing one on my sons 05 f150. Went from screaming to quite as a church mouse. The noise doesnt come from the housing, it comes from the bearing in the pully going bad, the tensioner housing just magnifies it.
Hi sir. Do you know where is rpm sensor for lancer located
Thanks this saved me a lot of time and money, replaced the belt and tensioner, made a really loud wine before, the baring was shot and it didn't spin easily.
“The air intake, or exhaust” 😂💀 Jesus.
Thanks
How many times did this guy say uhhh ...lol

My crown Vic water pump was whining and had low antifreeze smh changed it out all good now
Good troubleshooting
Thank you Raza unida, I'll check my tensioner. Been hearing my pick em' up whining like crazy.
Get to the point vato
I’m in the same boat with my 06. I’ve replaced everything except ac pump and belt tensioner. Thanks for the video!
What was your issue ?
I have 06 it whines when accelerating
I thought my whine (well, the trucks whine) was the u-joints having grit in them, cause that makes the exact same sound. Glad it was just the pulley.
The tensioner is supposed to fluctuate back and forth with engine speed, it’s not designed to just sit against the tang. Half way is the normal position but as engine speed and belt tension fluctuate, so will the tensioner. Replacing the tensioner is not necessary, you only need to replace the tension pulley and bearing which usually come as a set.
That's just dumb. If you're taking that much apart just change the whole tensioner. It's not expensive. If there's one thing I've learned in 30 plus years working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles is, if you're fixing one thing and while you're there you can replace something else cheaply that is probably worn your best bet is to just do it while you're there then to have that part fail in the future. Also repairing sub assemblies is on a case-by-case basis. Obviously if the full assembly of something cost hundreds of dollars and you can fix part of it for much less than by all means. But you're literally talking about the difference between a $15 to $20 pulley and bearing or just spending $30 or $40 in replacing the entire tensioner.
Just changed my Tensioner and the 3 idler pulleys on my 04 F-150 5.4.......exactly same noise.....1800 RPM and it sounded like I had an electric motor under the hood making a whirring noise.....took less than an hour to change all 4. the idler was obviously bad, but i could feel metal to metal grating in 2 of the 3 pulleys too. Bought parts at Advance Auto Parts with lifetime warranties for around $100 total...night and day difference.....sound disappeared immediately.
Great video. Made me laugh and is likely my issue too. Off to home depot, shit, uhh autozone🤣
The best one is Ford makaluko.
was it like a weak ground noise like when you hook up a car stereo system with an amp and you have a bad ground whining through the speakers except its really the motor?
Thanks! I literally thought it was the transmission, but soon as I looked at it I can tell it is just that. The tensioner is sitting half way like you said yours was
Isaac, mine only wine's when I put it in Drive. Please help me was that LIKE your problem
My first impression was that it was in a gear lower than it should have been (automatic btw). Definitely going to look at that pulley and if it isn’t in perfect condition will replace it. That is, after I check here there and everywhere the untrained fool can explore on his first look at a F150 engine. Thank you for your time and efforts.
Shut the hell up and get to the point...fuck !!!
I have an 07 5.4l 3v f150 XLT. And am experiencing a chirp. I have replaced my belt and tensioner as my tensioner was previously jumping around causing a slap noise. I got rid of that but now I have a chirp? I’m wondering if maybe my water pump too is bad but not sure? Have read multiple forums and all I hear about is the harmonic balancer? Some sort of pulley driven my the SERP belt so couldn’t be too difficult. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Not sure weather go do water pump or if I just have a random pulley chirping. But it’s such an inconsistent chirp. Not at certain rpms or speed or anything. Just never below 1grand always above that but never consistent. Sometimes can be going 2 grand and no chirp than all of a sudden starts in really bad so not sure?
i have the exact same car having the exact same issue. is there any way we can talk i have a few questions.
looki bought both sensors the intake amd the mass air sensor and it hasent helped god cars are frustrating
that dudes channel was bullshitcorner i think

😂😂😂
Can u PLZZZZZ FIND ANOTHER WORD OTHER THAN 'UH-UH'!!??? 😱😡😱
Ummm uummmm uummmm uummm
On my 2011, I went through a flood that literally almost stalled my engine. Lights began dimming and all like the belt was slipping when going through the water. The next day, it started the whining sound. I have electronic power steering so it’s obviously not that but I’m worried about bearings elsewhere on either water pump, alternator or perhaps even as you are describing, the tensioner assembly. I guess I’ll target that first since it’s not bad price-wise.
Awesome information, saved me some steps 👍🏼
Probably the transmission.
check out ford tech makeuloco channel Brian is the best he worked at a ford dealer as a tech now has his own shop he did a video on this issue its not the power steering but the bearings in your alternator is it only when it is really cold out and the truck has been sitting for like 4 hrs go watch his video stephen im sorry i could not message you befor the water pump job because i just saw your video now let me know how you make out the tensioner will cause this noise as well good find and im glad it fix the issue
Great video. Thanks for the good tip.
Thank you very much i bin having the same porblem at this time. thank you..
