WRL battle in GP3 at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Tag along with Denny Stripling as he works to lap second in class at the WRL Charlotte 12 endurance race. With almost 11 hours to go, I decided to take my time and not force the issue. You'll see several strategies played out throughout this video, including leveraging lap traffic, etc. Please comment on those that you can pick out!
Great racing! SRF3 at Road Atlanta

Join Denny Stripling as he pilots the Lupe Tortilla Motorsports SRF3 during the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour feature race at Road Atlanta, one of the best tracks in North America. Massive oil dry from a previous race really messed up our cameras (and our eyes, lungs, noses, ...) but helped make for a crazy race with turn 1 never being 100% during the race. Enjoy the ride!!!
BMW M4GT4 G82 at Eagles Canyon Raceway - in-car hot lap
zhlédnutí 327Před 6 měsíci
Hey all! Join Denny Stripling as he pilots the Fast Track Racing BMW G82 M4 GT4 (that's a mouthful) around Eagles Canyon Raceway northwest of Dallas, Texas. The car was tuned down to an estimated 360 WHP and was around 3600 pounds with driver. ECR is the best "club track" in the country, in my opinion. It has an amazing mix of corners, is very technical, and takes some laps to become proficient...
Nurburgring in a BMW M240iR racecar - bucket list time!
zhlédnutí 370Před 11 měsíci
Hey subs! Wow wow wow. I got to tick a massive bucket list item off this summer... I got to RACE (not drive, but RACE wheel to wheel) the Nurburgring!! Me and 3 really good buddies ran round 5 of the NLS (the same series that runs the 24 hour race). It was a 6 hour endurance race. 115 cars took the green with 12 in our class, one of the toughest in the field. As all of us were first-timers, our...

It's a great race with Russ Turner, Bobby Sak, Sandy Satullo and Liam Snyder. WGI is my favorite track in North America and this race delivered. Enjoy!!
SCCA Hoosier Super Tour Hallett April '23, SRF3 battle
zhlédnutí 673Před rokem
Subs! Check out this great battle at a neat little track called Hallett Motor Speedway. Not a ton of passing, but this one shows a bit more of what was going through my mind while taking the lead, falling back to second, and then having to plan my shot at taking the lead back. It was a super deep field with very talented drivers and the racing is always tough at Hallett. I whittled this one way...
Epic last lap battle - CoTA Spec Racers

Hey subs Check out this great last lap battle at the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour race at CoTA. I led for the last half of the race with a pack of hounds right on my tail, and it turned into a multi-car melee for the win on the last lap.. .as it should! If I get the chance, I'll try to create a video with multiple in-car cams for the entire race. In the meantime, here's my front cam just of the last...
One-handed in-car lap SRF3 - in honor of Mike Davies
zhlédnutí 398Před rokem
Mike Davies is an important part of the Spec Racer family. He's the creator of the Gen3 platform that we know and love and he was famous (infamous? :) ) for posting videos of himself driving one-handed... which I think is simply how he drove. He's fighting what will be a very tough battle with cancer and his GoFundMe has exceeded all expectations already, but I wanted to post this lap (and a ch...

Great race love these type of races whish more people in iracing understand long term strategy inside of fighting for fourth position.
#19 Bobby Sak, one of my favorite drivers.
Bobby is following the Denny and shows a car in front of the red car. But from Denny's car there isn't anyone. red car
My guess is you're seeing when I'm leading, a red/orange car with black back is behind me (Morgan Burkhard) and Bobby is third behind him. My car is red up front but black and white in the back.

Great race guys! It was interesting seeing multiple steering wheel inputs! Fantastic race!
Interesting seeing the temps climb the few laps you were behind AOA. Great driving.
Yep, she needs clean air to run cool. I heard the Miatas had similar issues.
Its 2024 and I still come back here every now and then to see you drive this thing like a demon! Also the intake on the reverse camera makes it look like a bonnet cam, making it look like the car is reversing around track at high speeds. My brain knows its not but I keep seeing it that way anyways 😂 Hope you are still racing! Stay safe dude
I just stumbled on this gem 💎 in 2024…. I am now currently looking to rent one of these, with hopes to purchase a gen2
I have the door from this car from this crash
Always an education watching your driving Denny. Thanks for sharing! Awesome effort…
He... Is BACKO!
You had the speed, you just got out-braked by EVERYBODY! You were trying to carry speed through the corners when you should have been attacking them... Next time bra.
Good eye! I made a big damper change before the race and ended up really not liking it. It hurt my exit on to the back straight and had a major impact on rear brake lock up into 10a (the big braking zone). I never got the car squared up from that change during the race and it was a major factor. Again, good eye!
That was one race where you did not make the donuts lol. Got a little messy & ya man that mistake cost you like 4/5places. Guessing your screen was cleaner than the dusted camera he he. Thanks for the ride Denny
Love seeing your race videos, but why does the rear facing camera have the image reversed? Anyway, thanks for posting.
The majority of folks wanted it reversed so that it shows the same side as the front camera… so I started doing that a while back :).
@@Racer_X I see, well if you ever take another vote please count mine for the other way. Anyway, enjoy watching the races!
Man!! This got me up! My racing season starts in 2 weeks, I can't wait!
Sweet… good luck and giddyup!
Fantastic driving! Surprised the track didnt get the oil dry off before your start.
They tried… they just weren’t super successful 😁

Loved it !!! Whata great race.. !!
looks awesome. I did a RCN race in 2017 and have wanted to go back since. I’m racing the c1 belgian cup this year for a few races. I drove a m235i once and it was pretty hard to drive, also understeered a lot, weird transmission and very heavy. assuming m240i is the same. prefer the e90 m or non m or porsche
Good Ol' TWS. I bought a Spec Racer from Brian Till in 1983. Went from pole to last to first once. Did it again but spun in the short shute and fell out of first. On my second lap in a Spec racer, I was .01 off the track record. Division champ for two years and moved on. Did you ever do the Run-offs in Atlanta? My best start was 3rd and crashed heavily in warm-ups. Let go of the steering wheel or you'll break a finger as I did. Still finished sixth with only 3rd and 4th gear. My sons have my skills and would like to go racing. Is there a GOOD rental in DFW? My car was maintained in Nebraska. LOVED Hallet, Road America, and Road Atlanta. I out-qualified everyone at the Run-off in the rain by one second. Ah, the good ol' days. You're a damn good driver. Tighten up your apex - but your timing and knowing when to charge is impeccable.
What a great race, well done. Unfortunate ending, the 61 car had run a pretty clean race until then. Half way through I thought the 31 (i think) car was going to cause the problem, as he was definitely the loosest driver. thanks for sharing, I used to work SCCA races at Thunder hill, worked the pre grid.
Looks like a great time and a great result. In all the videos of the Ring that I've seen none were of full race laps, but mainly just open track days. Seeing all of the manned corner stations made me appreciate the number of volunteers (assuming they aren't paid) that it takes to run a race on that course - pretty impressive, and they must have a pretty sophisticated communications system to handle the radio traffic too. Back in the '80s I worked a number of smaller SCCA events as a corner worker, but never an event of this size, so interesting to see that side of it. Also noted no debris flags even though there was some debris evident on the track - maybe the Europeans don't use debris flags? Anyway, congrats on a great drive and great finish!
Glad to see you back in action on youtube. The last video i have seen from you was like 3 years ago. Idk why none of the newer videos got in to my sub list. But hey, now i can binge watch all of em.
wow. I bet that was hella fun!
Lots of fun. Id like to get into it
Nice driving, 'love tap'. Enjoyed it!!
Solid under braking, well done!
It was a pretty uneventful race... until it wasn't! Though I am sure that leading all those laps without a speed mark ahead and having the followers catch up with you on almost every turn was nerve-wrecking. Thanks a lot for the full race unedited. It looks like your main camera footage could use some brightness/contrast adjustment or maybe switching from studio RGB to computer RGB levels - it usually tends to appear pale if levels / color spaces do not match. In case if you are editing in Sony Vegas, it should be as simple as adding Video Track FX to the main camera video track, adding the Sony Levels and then picking the 'Studio RGB to Computer RGB' option. Brightness and contrast can be tweaked by adding the corresponding FX. And also your rear camera looks a bit unsyncronized with the main one. But still - those are just suggestions to maybe keep an eye on in the future. Better an imperfect video than no footage. Hope to see more awesome racing from you soon.
Full race = love tap
I watched this race from Bobby's camera last week. How cool is that!? 💥💥💥 really great battle....
Yeah. Clearly your line didn't alter as the trailing car was attempting the "pass" (before contact). And you got the win so that tells me all I need to know. Really great race!

He did this with a bleedin H-pattern 😮 I thought srf’s had been a sequential lever before the paddle shifters that’s so wild
sweet battle super clean driving by everyone! seems like a great series
GIDDYUP
Muhaha!!! You had the last laugh though….
I mean, I know I can't see everything through your cam, but what was that eternal yellow even for? I was looking as hard as I could and didn't see a single blade of grass out of place.
Good call… it was for a car stranded off track driver’s right well past the corner. The problem was that it was across the track from any corner stations so it took a while to verify driver was ok and that the car was well out of danger. Probably could have been 1 or 2 laps but it was an odd, and unusual spot so they played it safe which I get. The car isn’t visible from my camera.
As always, loving your vids. I would have preferred a no-cuts version, but beggars can't be choosers :D Every time after reading your "let's do this" I was hearing LEEEEEEROY in my head. Not exactly sure if that was intended though...
Haha Leeroy 💯 you nailed it. 😁 and the no cuts version was a lot of me in second or leading… not a lot of action. Hopefully I’ll get some good ones soon as I’ll be at road America and Watkins glen and then … the ‘ring!!!
@@Racer_X I'll be waiting. Good hunting!
Thanks for this! Any chance of publishing full race as well?
Thank you! I certainly can… I just always assume people are gonna be like “oh yay, he’s in second now he’s leading and there’s not much action…. bo-ring” but maybe I’m wrong. Thanks again!
what's bumpier: This track, or long beach?
These cars look like a blast to race. Im sure this is a fixed set up series. Too much fun.
I wouldn't have taken any reason for that ending. There's no excuse for that.
Ya gotta love the slipe stream draft to play this game. I take it that you fellows know each other well enough to share deodorant. LOL
I don't understand racers who qualify at a high spot, and when thing don't go their way expect everybody to get out of their way let them back in front. Life's tough.
Well damn
Good run indeed!
Wish other racing was this clean
really enjoyed that last lap - great to see drivers really trying to adhere to the track limits. TOTAL RESPECT FOR YOU ALL
Fantastic Drive!
That car doesn't look like it enjoys being driven one hand at a time too much. Looks like quite the feat with how much the wheel is kicking about. I don't know him, but I hope Mike can stomp out that cancer! Best of luck to him!
