I've always put the rope behind me just like you explained. Some guy was saying to have it in front of you, but it doesn't move as smoothly as when behind. So I was thinking,"Have I been doing it wrong all these years?". Do you know how hard it was to get a simple answer? Man! I can't really do tree work anymore because of an injury so I watch a lot of videos on the subject. I remember working for this company. We were in a neighborhood were there wasn't much traffic. We at a four way intersection. The guy insisted that we put the chipper literally underneath where he was climbing. He was rushing us so it was chaotic. I had a bad feeling from the start. Anyway, one of the ropes got all tangled up in a branch and like I said they were rushing (showing off is more like it) and the branch we lowered still had the line on it and the guy, from what I remember, didn't untie it as it was put in the chipper. So yeah, it got sucked in so fast. Fortunately no one got hurt. But I remember the owner trying to point the finger at us ground guys. I knew it was stupid what we were doing but I think he was so embarrassed that he had us work like that but he never apologized to us two guys who almost got killed. Some company owners are all about themselves. I just thought I'd share that experience hoping that other young guys would be careful and watch that rope making sure it doesn't get snagged and pulled into the chipper.

Nice work, I work at a campground and we had to remove some dead and dying ash trees do to the ash borer , I was working as a ground guy kinda I helped clean up and it was fun, love being outside and getting a workout in!!!

That's awesome. I love that saw. I bought one new years back even though I've never been an arborist. It was my favorite saw. I really regret having to let my ms200t, ms261 pro and my Ms361 go, years ago in 2004. Smh I can't afford them anymore sadly, but I did buy a G111 clone of the ms200t just because I missed having that 200T the most. I'm not expecting the clone to be as good or last as long in use time. But the design is the same so I'm sure I'll enjoy using it anyway. Lol Anyway congrats on getting a legendary beast of a Stihl top handle saw! 😎👍

it would be helpful to show how to know which climber is for left and which is for right --- how do you tell --- I watch another video they said the gaff should be leaning a bit forward - I guess if you had it on the wrong side it would be leaking backward ---- also how should you properly buckle the bottom straps -- should they go around the steel or inside-- should the long buckle be going around the back of the foot...? thank you --- I am glad you shared your knowledge of this tool !!!
