I've never seen anyone using those texturing tools before. Pretty cool. Also I'm wearing a t-shirt with the IT quote "have you tried turning it off and on again?" Love that it works for wood turning as well as computers!

I use a recess rather than a tenon for my once turned bowls. I found out a long time ago that a NRS (negative rake scraper) leaves a far truer surface than a gouge. I figure this is mostly because a NRS nibbles off the high spots rather than the bevel rubbing cut which bounces more from going with/against/with/against the grain. I think if I was to do a bowl like this, I would return the outside after reversing it. I have never been one to remount 'perfectly' though...

That is one mighty lathe luv if you can fit a 150x100cm block of wood on't LOL. 150cm you mean 150mm = 15cm (approx 7 inches) 100cm you mean 100mm = 10cm (approx 5 inches) Nice work.

Bought this - the circular head will cut okay and the HSS version can be removed and sharpened easy enough and stays sharp a reasonable time. Biggest issue is the hex bolt/screw that holds the cutter in place becomes almost welded in place. Im guessing from the heat and force of the cutting action. Even with WD40 it became almost impossible to remove the hex bolt with the Allen key provided. I have slashed my finger as the Allen key slips out when I'm trying to remove the firmly embedded hex bolt. After just a few uses I now need to try to find a replacement hex bolt as the the head is chewed up. The square shaped cutter I have stopped trying to use as it is next to useless at cutting. The Diamond cutter I have yet to use.

I can't recommend more strongly that you wear a mask when using products like the flakes. You really do not want that stuff in your lungs, they will not break down inside you.

This is beautiful, and also so much better than the endless number of people turning yet another three pound hunk of resin.

Dont wish to be a kill joy but I do worry for you and others learning that you choose not to wear a protective visor. There is a lot of energy in wood as it travels round and odds are it will come off one day. There have been and will be serious consequences when wood flies off at speed. Safety goggles and a face mask are useful but will not protect you from the wood flying off.

I've watched a lot of woodturning videos and have taken some classes myself. A lot of the people making videos are OK but don't strike me as being especially skilled. You, on the other hand, have a level of skill I've rarely seen before on CZcams! You're clearly a true artist and craftsperson. This piece is beautiful and maybe one day I'll make one.
