For nearly 100 years, The Great Gatsby's been turned into everything from an opera to a comic book, but now it's undergoing it's boldest transformation yet...a musical.
This is the story of expectations and frustrations, of friendships and competitions, and why we keep coming back to the Great American Novel.

THE GUY FROM RIVERDALE keeps popping up like my sleep paralysis demon !
I recently saw this show in So Cal and I loved it. I think the music is fantastic and like you said the story was elevated. They made the entire story so much more literary. I’m not usually a fan of any movie turned into a musical myself because I feel like it always gets reductive and adds more camp when not necessary at all. I can’t bring myself to see Mean Girls or Legally Blond because they look exhausting and pointless. But I knew I would like this one because the movie already has camp built in. It’s already such a crazy concept and Beetlejuice is such a like lounge act character that all they had to do is lean into that. Which they did. I’m grateful that it’s touring because I never go to NY.

So I got to see Betelegeuse in May of 2024 and while it did not have the original cast it was still the same songs on the cd.. when a show closes can it be picked up by Broadway? I am so thankful that I got to see it in person now!
Give me one good reason big sandy isn’t on this list
Chess's failure came at the fact that a plot couldn't be set in stone and the ending was such a gut punch. Plus, the world was Cold War'd out. But I'd put the music of this show against damn near any other musical of the last 45 years. And no, I don't just mean Bangkok. Anthem is S-tier, Nobody's Side S-tier. Endgame S-Tier. The Deal S-Tier. Pity the Child S-Tier. Find me a weak song.
