Is this sturdy enough for a Canon 300 f2.8 lens ? Also, if the quick release plate is attached to the tripod collar instead of the body as will be the case with a 300/2.8 , will that cause balancing problems ? And can it take a second body with a smaller (eg 24-70/2.8 ) lens ?

I seen a man wearing this and as he was walking another man bumped into him pushing him against a concert wall. It ruin his lens. Anything on your side is subject to get hit. Even someone walking by can hit your camera. Think about someone walking up to you and he or she has a big bag on their side. It hits your camera. This is no good.

Maybe better suited for outdoors or not crowded places. Still researching the product. Haven’t decided if I want to buy it

This is definitely more geared for “professional” work similar to the Spider Holster - which I had and I also had to be mindful of people around me in crowded places.

Thanks for the video! While researching CC’s different offerings, I was musing… “They need to make their own L bracket!”. Seeing how this integrates with Cotton Carrier’s system would be a great follow-on video. The only draw-back to this system is not being able to lay my camera flat on a table. I use PD’s capture system and though I love the quality, I don’t like the 2-handed release system… or the metalic materials. I plan on buying CC’s belt & backpack attachments with the Arca Swiss adapter for my tripod… should be a great solution. Only “accessory” I’d love to see is a screw/rubber foot to make the L bracket or Arca Swiss Adapter sit flat when the CC circular shoe/clip is attached. Thanks again! Love family owned businesses! Looking forward to a long relationship :D.

are you ever going to make a version that's all black instead of grey? kind of like the models you had back in 2015? No idea why the current model is only grey and woodland camo.

I just purchased a CCS SteadyShot - mount only delivered 09/01/21. I also own other pieces of Cotton Carrier equipment. This video is old, old, old and really doesn't show anything about adjusting the mounting brackets for best use. I realize some will depend on individual's specific camera equipment but there must be some adjustments common to any camera / lens system. For example, mounting a Manfrotto ball head or mounting a Manfrotto Quick Release. For example, when I mounted my Manfrotto 486RC2 or Alzo ball heads I notice there is no way to use a set screw to keep the base tightened to the top mounting plate. And how is the Manfrotto 323 with RC2 quick release attached to the top mount plate? What about mounting the lens mounting foot directly to the SteadyShot mount plate?

Does anyone here with heavy gear use harnesses? I hadn't before but yesterday....it was nice to not feel 3 hours weight on my neck. Getting a wrist strap myself for my big setup but man...if you have the heavy gear....and are small handed...may I suggest a harness. Amazing difference after a lengthy shoot. Now the real test is next weekend for 12 hours shoot time. BUT.....so far so good. This would be the design I have now. I think maybe a generation before so it doesn't have the cool lil side pouch but it did come with a pouch in front with rain gear for my camera and will hold 2 bodies. I am in love with it. For those who move alot while shooting such as weddings, sports, wildlife, or hiking for that ultimate sunset or landscape shot....and you have big gear....consider this one. I highly recommend it.

I'm confused about the use case for this with the carrying systems. In the pictures on the site it looks like you put the hub on top of the plate, but then that renders the plate unusable while the hub is attached? (unless i mount it vertically on the other side of the L bracket???)

The most important factor involved is exactly how the camera attaches to the Skout. So that's the part you leave out. Will it accommodate a rapid release plate? If so, who's etc. etc. etc, Also, I wish to have an idea of how sturdy the connection is and the material used. You leave out so many details, I have to wonder what it is you do not want us to know.

ugh the worst kind of product video!!! music that might not be to everyone's taste (read "I can't stand the music!") and is distracting! No solid info on product or at least not before I was thoroughly disgusted by the video. Shopping for equipment is HARD work. I have spent hours shopping for camera equipment after weeks of getting educated and a sterap is the final item. I want a useful video, please! not a torture piece!

Do you have a universal adapter that one could stick or attach to a Lowepro Toploader so that one could stick where you have binoculars. While I appreciate birders, I think this system is more useful for hikers and having a toploader secured in front on your harness is better than the stingy one that Lowepro provides (or others). Any thoughts???
