can you send pictures of the problem? latest batch have the pins already soldered to make it easier for people to solder them, can't see why it is a problem? the pins soldered and the plastic parts are from under it... then you slide it in the original controller board and solder. easier than soldering the both boards. i have a mode and it fits reasonably fine.

it has hdd which is the thing i use it for + original means ethernet works!

@@Thundertronics Yeah just bought one and rebuild it to SATA, the LAN works which is awesome. It was a bit of fiddling though, because the most rebuild manuals are for another version (with LAN AND Phone line)

yes but in this mod you are cutting just 1 mm of internal plastic which does not show or do a thing.

even after 12v removal, original psu will produce heat, a lot of it. this psu does not require anything to work, just a simple push in.

right now i am doing a design for saturn, will take some time. will also do v2 of this DC one to lower cost. ps1 is on the radar but i don't have information about how ps1 psus fail and why would people change them

useless in your opinion, but many others see it useful. you clearly didn't see the video where i talked about the features and why you would and wouldn't want to get it. DC PSUs do fail and they have their problems, they are not immune. ultimately it is a choice people make, and this PSU is objectively the best performing one... price-wise it is expensive and I am working on a rev2 which will reduce the cost a lot. battery mod is a highly requested mod and solves the problem, no one witnessed the bios fault you speak about and even so this mod still benefit you.

@@Thundertronics it is pointless from a common sense point of view, not only just mine. In fact the single benefit is that it's much cooler than original PSU, what actually never was a problem. As of the battery mod, you leave your Dreamcast with that super useful battery mod installed for a 3 month, then measure the RTC voltage and turn it ON - you will be surprised. And by saying to leave the Dreamcast for a 3 month, I mean that you shouldn't turn it ON whole that time to trigger the BIOS glitch.

hello, can you tell me more about this bios glitch? i want to read about it since i found one of my devices reset time after 2 months or so. I am really surprised since no one reported this so far. please guide me to links where this is explained.

@@Thundertronics as far as I know it wasn't explained anywhere. The only explanation was given in the Dreamcast instruction manual as a natural RTC battery discharge. Perhaps no one reported this due to assumptions that the battery was the cause, which is not quite true.

If I'm not wrong the OG Xbox is not Bivolt. Given that would be great if we have a PSU that we can use on both 220V and 110V units.

i do have mode personally and it is fine with both original and this psu. have fun!

you could do that for sure, won't cost the end-user anything. however, i really doubt anything like this can happen. you just put the battery once and leave it, really zero change it could happen. now if the user was extra violent and scratched it, then it is completely his fault. these battery contacts are made by keystone, very original and high quality. thus, they know what they are doing. if they cause such harm then no one would buy them but as said, this is beyond extreme case... it is rather abuse on purpose. i could use plastic holders but that would cost a lot. plus, this mod is not just for 18650 batteries! ANY 3.7v li ion battery can be used for sure... if it withstands 200mA charging current which almost all of them do. thanks for your comment! really nice point!

i thought i soldered it straight, i even looked at my own DC and it was straight. during the video i was more interest in capturing footage, but i also said you need to make it straight which means keep adjusting the joints... this cannot be captured by camera. the mod is in stock if you want it

that is over-exaggeration since no one will tear the wrap and it wont move by itself. other holders exist but 5 times the price, also this one is high quality keysone one... meaning this is the intended usage, but overall really liked your critic... it helps me
