hi, I stumble into your page. I am 52 years old can disabled because of an injury. My mother has verbal abuse me for many years. I don't know what to do. I'm very depressed or for continuous verbal abuse about my past and my disability.

Never give up on yourself life is a journey we must all take.

I just remembered my experience.. Abusive days.. They use to convince people relative aa their daughters arw not good, its curse so they are beating to make them understand

I am 25 years old and I have also faced a lot of trouble in my upbringing because my mother always considered herself smarter than others. Because Due to his behavior, I was bullied since childhood, I did not have any friends in school or college, now people think that I am afraid of you. Since the age of 16, I have taken the right steps in life.

My Father abused me a lot by using bad words since my childhood.

Her parents were typical narcicists, sister I am so sorry for what you endured, we have a lot in common in our story , ilike you said God save us, God is all I have, Jesus has been there every moment, it wasn't enough to separate, He even healed me of so so much of my trauma, has saved me from my naive foolish decisions , many of them, and He also gave me the love that I needed but I never had, we are born with a need for love ,of good parents , and I found it in Him. Our childhood was tough, so Jesus said anyone who would enter the kingdom of heaven must be born again! Except this time its spiritual, since God is Spirit we will be spiritually born again when we believe in the Gospel ( the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead in 3 days) and we repent and seek forgiveness ,And Did anyone who believes in Jesus, The Son of The Living God, He(Jesus the LORD) gives them the right yt to become child rn of the God. We can live this again ,this time in love, I hope it blesses you, I will pray for you.

Hey, whoever is reading my comment and is still trapped with narcissistic family members. U can comment below and we will talk. Because I am about to do something legally against those demonic family members. And we can only do that as a team. I want to make it legal and official to cut off contact with family members in India (especially for girls). Because here i see 95% of the comments are only from womens. This is a mental harassment we are tolerating and we are not supposed to tolerate it. Mental harassment is more worst than any kind of sexual harassment. We are with each other. We are each other's power and can do much more if we unite against this torture happening.

I am almost 40 years old, and I can say from my experience although it may take years to realize that you have been a victim of abuse and toxicity by parents, and for Indian children it is not quick and easy to realize that because of the cultural and religious dialogues we are brought up on, but once you realize, PLEASE ENFORCE STRICT BOUNDARIES AND DO NOT FEEL GUILTY. Be a good human being, and please be smart at the same time. It is possible to be good and smart at the same time. Learn to say NO, show anger and courage at the same time! PLEASE BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND, AND GIFT YOURSELF THE TASTE OF FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE! Go liberate yourself!!!

My dad was really abusive and my mother would just say us to bear it. In India, parents think they could do anything to their kids just because they gave birth. I studied hard and left the house. I literally hate them to the core of my heart. I have shared with my indian friends amd they say its normal, i think most indians dont know the difference between small general fights and abuse.

It's not your story it's mine Actually it's not just your or mine. There're many girls and women or mothers and daughters, wives, sisters who are facing the same . I'm in the same situation. I used ask myself everyday, what if my life wouldn't end the way I want.

Thank you for sharing your story. Your father was a sick man and your mother betrayed you. No one should use their helpless child as a punching bag. There is no accountability for child abuse, and many people suffer in silence. It's time to talk more about it. Also, this is so prevalent in Asian cultures (I'm Chinese) and our system of honoring the family keeps the abuse going, that needs to change.

Objectively not emotionally,by rational thinking:-This story shows that once a toxic always a toxic , this hope of them that one day "they will sudhar jaayenge " is a complete dream... Even if u take step and r successful to stand for urself and come out, they have not changed they are just oppressed, waiting for the right time to manipulate and depower you.. U r responsible for your own power and distance at last has to be maintained at least mentally... They are not changing or improving, they are not studying psychology or working on themselves. not even reflecting on their mistakes, don't even consider what they did was a mistake.. This hope that someday they might regret their actions is still a very farthest dream..

Can't this staff be taken before court we victims always scare to take legal actions. There are so many staffs that r taken before courts but when we say this to any one we just only get to say she is your mom whatever she is telling for ur wellness only. She will understand but my mother never understood me and till date never tried to solve issues. Its very tough for me to even stay under one roof. I even tried to date people and tried to say them but as soon as they came to know this immediately they blocked me and again blamed me for everything.

This is the situation of all parents in Indian society, child abuser’s in disguise and nobody bats and eye, I am too a victim of this same kind of behaviour of both parents, an abuser and an ignorant, I am glad for you, that you escaped that abusive environment, but somehow I feel as a boy or a male, nobody thinks that male child’s can be abused too, or even married men can be abused by their wives, any one can become a victim of abuse and more awareness among children and people is needed

Like you, I often wondered why I was always the one being mistreated and not my younger sister and what I did to deserve it. Thanks for sharing ! I've dealt with much less severe abuse but there are still similar dynamics going on. The controlling behavior, demanding you are at their beck and call even if you are at work. You learn to be very bad at establishing your own boundaries. You are terrified to do so! So many take advantage of you as you grow older
