Whilst in the end the incident that got the red card was a red card. it is once again built on really weak ref'ing if you watch the rucks prior to that every single one has an Italian player in an offside possition or driving in from the side. Had the ref been strong and yellow carded one of the many infrigments from italy it never happens. The ref need to hammer down on the infringments against England. Yes this will turn these games into cricket scores. But even with hte Ref helping anyopne playing agianst England by not calling clear penalties we are getting cricket scores anyway.

This may be a controversial take but...for training purposes we know that when we practice against stronger competiion we become better. What if the Continental Tyres Schools Cup U15s teams scrimmage vs the Red Roses a few times a year? This competition for both squads would be beneficial for both clubs but also would generate ENORMOUS ratings and ticket sales the proceeds of which would help the schools' rugby programmes (for both boys and girls!)

They really need to put more money and other means in women's rugby, it's still extremely boring to watch, even more boring than watching clubs in the 90's...

I don't know if the red card was deserved or not but what is certain is that it spoiled the party.

If England start to win consistently then the tournament will suffer as noone will watch. We need more of a contest from all the teams.

Another gutsy performance from the Irish girls, full of courage, commitment and putting bodies 'on the line. They never fail to Irish fans proud. But there is nothing to separate the Irish, Scots, Welsh and Italian women at the moment. If Ireland are good enough to make the World Cup, then the others ought to be there too! Ireland played better last time out against rampant England imo - they had to! That first quarter was pretty dire, yes they got back into it, but they've got the players, the skills to develop a momentum which never materialised. A draw would probably have been a fairer result on the balance of play.

Thoroughly enjoy watching the Roses. There’s not many sports where the gap between men and women is so close. Rugby union is the one. I don’t mean this disrespectful to the other sports at all, more to highlight what a fantastic advancement the women’s game has done
