When looking for vacant land in Joshua Tree or the High Desert area of Southern California, it is essential to visit the prospective property in person. Only in person will you be able to get a real sense of access, views, remoteness, the density of native vegetation and if there are any Joshua Trees on the property. You will also have a chance to visualize the house you want to build and if the size of the property will be sufficient. It is also helpful to understand what it takes to bring utilities to the site as well as the area’s flood, fire, and earthquake hazard zones.

I'm in the process of looking at land and have been getting costs together for water, power, septic. etc. The more remote you are the more expensive for sure.
