I just got a 2010 5 series wagon that the previous owner lowered the rear. The guy I bought it from said they put on “short springs”. Having plenty of cars get fixed over the years, though Not by me…is that all I’d need to replace to bring it up to normal height? Or will there be other parts too. Just trying to get as much knowledge as possible before hand. Thx!

Im sorry but whwn you say the Instructor lost his cool while you seemed it appropriate to "adjust the steering wheel mid corner" thinking its was absolutely ok. ITS NOT. Instructors are ultimately there for the safety of everybody out there, plus the equipment. They will be dealing with alll types of drivers, including nervous people. Hotshots who think they can drive fast but in reality have no idea of stitching all the requirements of advanced driving together. They do not know from one person to the next who is going to present what to them so limitations have to be made for the sake of everyone. Please all understand that principle. As with anything like this , there is upselling. Just say no.

Great video and I wish I'd seen it before I went on one myself. However, you missed one vital point. They also keep the car in standard road mode and don't allow you to use sport or any performance setting. In my case, I drove a 770BHP Aventador. A gorgeous car with an amazing sound track, but it didn't feel like 700HP+, more like 200. My 4.2litre Jag XF was sportier in standard mode with a mere 420BHP and way more exciting than the Lamborgini was in Sport or Dynamic mode. I know why they do this, it's a good way of making sure you don't spin accidentally. I've since come across a chap who just happens to be an instructor for the same one's I went with (Everyman Racing) and he said individual instructors may allow you to switch to sport mode if they feel you can handle it. However, he told me that certainly wouldn't be allowed with any cars 600HP+.

350-400 hp is no problem as long as you upgrade the cooling system (bigger intercooler) & limit the torque in lower gears. You can install the alpina transmission software. The D5 biturbo has the same block

It takes a few days, and should be disabled if on an open road, but one pedal driving is excellent for city driving. Only need to master it and understand how others around you may respond. In my Volvo XC40, Regen will adjust depending on speed so there is no worry of an aggressive braking of above a certain speed. It also used the actual brakes along with the motor to blend the Regen.

yep , i did my track day same place in the video , was buzzing for months to be able to drive the cars . Finally got the chance and got shouted at for downshifting before a corner , it really wasnt an enjoyable experience , it didnt feel like my experience , they just tell you what to do .

The vast majority of people imagine that they are great drivers of race cars. But they just drive too fast for conditions almost all the time and rely far too much on their brakes to save the day instead driving moderately to avoid accidents. EV regen is not dangerous. Especially if guns are not dangerous. It’s drivers and shooters who pose dangers. Regen is just a tool. And a lot of people go on “auto” while driving. They have no memory of what transpired just before they wreck their car. It’s really ICE cars that are dangerous on so many levels. Regen braking takes a bit to get used to. But it’s not dangerous. The people who have wrecks are just used to instant gratification in driving when the speed up and slow down. And it’s dangerous. Because they all drive so fast. They are not good at driving but they think they are.

Here's something essential for anyone doing this... depending on how you have the car supported on Jack stands, or whatever, place 200lbs of weight into the trunk before dropping the rear subframe to prevent the car from tipping over the supporting platform (if it applies to how you have the car supported)

My Audi q5 with 3.0T won’t stop hard starting even after I changed the fuel pump, crank shaft position sensors and fuel rail sensor. What else can I do?

1. Brake fluid flush time is a good time to check brake pad thickness. The radial groove on the pad should be visible, if not it's time for new pads. 2. What almost all fluid change videos miss is that the caliper is full of fluid and simply pumping fluid through it, or sucking it through, may not fully replace fluid in the caliper. Do accomplish that, push the brake pads and caliper pistons to the full retract position and place something between the pads to keep them far apart. The proceed as usual; remove the spacer when done. 3. Do not forget to top up the master cylinder fluid reservoir after bleeding each wheel.

My car will completely stop in regular town traffic on regen braking. The braking can be felt, but not really through the pedal in my car.

Excellent video. I’ve been a Tesla driver for 8 years and I just got a new i5 M60 BMW. One pedal driving is easy to master and I rarely touch the brake in the BMW. I do wonder if I’m putting excess wear on the electric engine or the brake system. Knowledgeable comments are appreciated. On the BMW, you have an option of high, medium, low, or adaptive. High puts a lot of regen braking but won’t stop the car. I use adaptive which works beautifully and brings the car to a full stop.
