Apex parkour rank-up IV - [Walk-through]
This is the 4th & final level of my rank-up parkour map.
This level is by far the hardest parkour challenge in the game when played the intended way.
This video is split into smaller segments. I made IV to be a long-term challenge for myself, so going for one-shots before the map is released would have taken too long & I wanted to play the new Elden Ring DLC.

I’ve verified that the mechanic works the same in normal Apex, there’s just no (or almost no) good spots to fully make use of it, which I tried to make clear in the description and pinned comment.
It's possible , somehow , when you attach from a wall from other wall , your climbing time resets . An normal climb has almost 5 seconds (uncalculated cuz I don't have access to apex rn ) but if you attach to another wall it resets , this works also theres another method wich is harder , you require 2 walls if you attach on a wall then after a perfect 5 seconds you drop off, but if you get on the other wall after 5 seconds , it resets and you cam get back up without touching ground.
how do you spam melee and spin like that? (2:10)
It’s a (abusable) visual bug. When you melee, the animation gets looped by bhopping. You only need to melee once. Only other players can actually see it looping, it looks normal for yourself even if you go in third person firing range. You can technically shoot and stuff while doing it, but I highly advise against that personally. I just recommend having fun with the goofiness rather than getting kills with it.

You can also infinite wall climb with mantle cancel --> reattach. Jay called it "wall-walking" because it's super-slow, but I found a way to do it at full wall surf speed and still chain it. It's a lot of inputs tho and the timing is brutal lol.

Really nice idea and extremely hard (I can't even complete the map) But you can hear the mantle sound 0:07 0:53 2:13 as opposed to here 2:22 Or am I wrong?
No those aren’t mantles. Not sure what sound you’re hearing, but there’s the climbing sound effects, and punch sound effects. Maybe the combo of the two is throwing you off? (Edit: I hear what I think you’re hearing, and I understand the confusion now. There are subtle differences in sounds that happen, not sure if it’s just due to slight differences in execution or something. My other guess is the game is triggering the mantle sound effect despite not actually being able to mantle due to being in the middle of the punch animation. Anyways, it still can’t actually be a mantle due to velocity meter not reflecting that as I described below, as well as me using inputs and looking at angles that prevent being able to mantle.) Another way to verify they aren’t mantles is by using the velocity meter in the top left. Mantling always sets your velocity to 0.00 instantly, and that doesn’t happen at those timestamps.
@@G0FBall I thought it was a mantle without the animation triggering due to the punch animation overriding it, my bad then. I wasn't aware that mantles always set the velocity to 0
@@ichthyostegaxd3727 It’s fine lol, the punch strat uses some very weird and buggy mechanics, and I expected some confusion over it. I wasn’t aware of any potential weirdness specifically with sound effects until your comment though, so that just adds to the list of interesting / weird stuff about it.

The last cascade jump and the last coyote tap strafe jump are nuts. You pushed this so much further than I thought would be possible with all these little tricks and just super clean jumps, incredibly well done.

Nice video! I tried to tap W to get the lowest climbing speed, but I always ended up climbing at normal speed or falling directly. Is there any tips for tapping W? It’s really difficult for me.😢
Find a wall that isn’t just one solid color when you’re first getting into practicing this. Walls with some horizontal line you can see while climbing will be a huge help to see how much you are (or aren’t) going up.
@@G0FBall Yes, I followed this advice but I still don’t know when the slow-down will occur. Do you know the specific frequency or timing when we tap or hold W?
@@user-lm3yv1vq2hMaybe for learning it would be beneficial to tap W in a less optimal way that takes you more upwards, so the slow-down will be more obvious when it happens? Learning to feel when the slow-down happens is the most important part, but also the hardest part to learn imo. There's too many variables for me to be able to say "just do this specific sequence of inputs at this frequency", so it will all come down to feel. You can do what I said above, so the slow-down will be easy to see and feel, then when you can successfully start holding W after those taps, do slightly less bad taps and work on getting the feel for it again. Eventually you can find your personal sweet spot for how good your W taps can be while still being able to feel the slow-down happen and react to it.

With rev i was able to do this.. eventually in about half the climb height maybe 30% of the time. Its very random. So far no luck with getting it with anyone else, i hit the climb limit before anything. Im looking forward to someone finding the exact rules behind the timing so i can find out what im doing wrong instead of just mashing w and hoping. Maybe record a macro with your timings and see what the times are as the first step?
Getting the feel for this is definitely very hard. For Rev, doing it by just going straight up is easy but makes you climb up a lot before the slow-down happens, since your W presses have to be longer to stay on the wall. It’s better to be going sideways and tapping W if you want to not gain a lot of height during the setup. Try to focus on gaining as little height as you can with your W taps first, and notice what it feels like when those taps stop taking you upwards as much. A wall with a horizontal line is best for being able to clearly see how much you’re going up. Walls that are just a solid color will be hard to start out on since you can’t see much of what’s going on.

im having trouble staying on the wall, not sure why, it sorta just kicks me off after a while. i even made a macro for the exact inputs you are doing in the video and im still falling off
Two things I can think of: 1 - You’re getting your upwards climb speed locked extremely low (basically it seems like the most perfect execution ever at first), but then after a bit it for some reason gets very slightly lower. There are very slight things going on that can be hard to notice, but in this case it’s usually just that you should have done one less W tap. 2 - Your camera is angled slightly towards the same direction you’re climbing (not sure if this actually affects it). I’ve always looked slightly inwards / toward the opposite direction of my wall-runs like you see in the video. Again I’m not sure though, I’d have to test it and get back to you.
ok thanks alot, im finding myself sorta just instantly falling off the wall after my sideways climb timer is up, im not reaching any zones on the wall that should kick me off, but even while w tapping or even letting go of the movement key, my sideways timer doesnt seem to reset@@G0FBall

Haven't found any walls long enough, if that gives you a general idea of how crazy it is for him. You'd have to have something you can loop around multiple times and then just calculate the horizontal distance after or something, unless there's a massive wall I'm forgetting about.
