Wagner Ring Cycle rock version 1
So, had someone try this little section from the Ring on digital keys. Maybe spent 5 hours on it. I am interested in opinions. Bonus points if you can tell me what it's from. That might give a clue as to where my opinion lies.

It's so Simple - Baker Street, A Musical Adventure of Sherlock Holmes
the first single record I had when I was a little child... such sweet and good memories!
In the 1970s, I watched Seymour quite often. When he made fun of the movie “Dracula” (1931) the scene would be showing Dracula starting to come out of the coffin, and Seymour is saying, when the camera pulled away to a window - “ Don’t show the window, he’s coming from the coffin !” And Seymour would go thru his wall, to crash a party! You”re only seeing the open wall, with white smoke coming from it, and voices accusing Seymour - “ Here’s that party crasher again!” If Seymour did any swearing at all, I don’t remember … (Won’t you come home, Bill Bailey, won’t you come home? Seymour’s alter ego? 🙂😯
Loved seymore on Fright Night. Just hilarious. Before there was Elvira, there was Seymore.
Come on, Silver! Let’s go, Big Fellow! Hi-yo Silver! AWAY!
Wow, I wish I was there for its only production at the former Adelphi theater (home to The Honeymooners). The production was sadly very badly panned. I would have loved it.
❤❤❤👏👏👏
This song was in the film, Goodbye Mr Chips sung by Petula Clark. czcams.com/video/bZOSVX8UQK0/video.html
I remember watching a movie on fright night called burn, which burn
NICE
"Ok Fringies, it's 10 o'clock and you know what that means...time for MANNIX!"
Good song
Best version of the William Tell Overture ever! I feel like it was meant to be a rock song.
DRIVERS....START...YOUR...ENGINES!!! GET READY....GET SET....GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Ufff... este tema lo he puesto a sonar bien de seguido desde 2011. 12 años después y no me canso.
Todavía sonando en 2024 😉
You know, after listening to this a bunch of times, I really want to make my own version of this idea. Not to say that this is terrible or anything, but I feel like it would sound better if it was a lot slower. Not as like turning the speed down on the video, but maybe like drawing out the notes kind of way. I mean, I don't know how to play keyboard or any other instrument. But I've listened to a whole lot of music, and I feel like this kind of sound would work like an early Yes kind of music. Maybe before Topographic Ocean kind of sound. I don't know... But it's just a thought I was having. This is still pretty good in the end of things.
Speaking of all-time favorites, Mr. Wotanrocks, Wagner's Ring cycle has been a part of my life for over the past 50 years as well. Wagner was a genius. Love Rienzi overture, Tannhaeuser, Meistersinger, as well. Listen to the Ring, all 19 LPs or 14 cds, continuously and incessantly. As soon as the world is destroyed in Goetterdaemmerung, start back at Rheingold again. Such brilliant music, leitmotivs, themes. Anyone interested in discussing? Please contact me. Love to meet fellow Wagnerians!
I have had this album probably for 50 years. I may have seen the show on Broadway. Who remembers that far back? Lol. You don't have to be Sherlockian to love this, music, plot and all. Another fabulous Holmesian offering is The Seven-Per-Cent Solution (1976) with Nicol Williamson, Robert Duvall, Alan Arkin and Vanessa Redgrave. Sherlock meets Sigmund Freud. Great thematic music, real Viennese settings, thrilling railroad chase at the end. Fabulous. One of my top ten all-time favorites. Let's hear from more Baker-Street lovers!
Heard this in a football game in high school back in 2013
Wait, Steve Miller was a co-writer on this?
Stan Miller
I loved Earth Quake!! 70s Longbranch Berkeley. A couple friends and I were a bit obsessed- traveled to many places to see and hear them. Great guitar playing, lead vocalist John Doukas put his all into every performance- and goes without saying, he was a FOX!!! So surprised they never went further but they brought me and many others memories that will last a lifetime. Hit the Floor and dance!
Who knew Vincent Price and Patricia Routledge (Hyacinth in Keeping Up Appearances) could sing so well?
But I prefer the instrumental music from House of Usher :)
Am I right to assume this was the biggest song of theirs...beyond their cover of Friday on my mind? It was selected for a Rhino compilation, and the listens are higher than other tracks..it is a memorable tune in any case. I love the ending!
E' davvero una canzone molto bella! Umiliani un genio. Orietta al massimo della forma. Love it.
Great memories of Larry and his dry wit and humor. What a shame that nothing survives other than a clip of Larry handcuffing a pay phone here on CZcams. Sad, sad, sad. RIP
The problem was the score. It was written by first timers who never wrote anything else as far as I know. The music was mediocre at best and not one song stood up outside the show. It was lavish, beautifully staged, but next to My Fair Lady which it was trying to emulate - it just didn't rise above pleasant entertainment.
Bock and Harnick contributed to the score. (I think they wrote Martin Gabel's song.) Producer Alex Cohen later brought in Ray Jessel to write additional lyrics for his Richard Rodgers musical I REMEMBER MAMA.
Well, it's pretty obvious that G.B. Shaw based Pickering and Higgins on Watson and Holmes, so surely a resemblance is inevitable whether intended or not. I think the BAKER STREET songs have style, and I'll take "enjoyable" any day. As a major Holmes fan, I guess I'm just happy that a Sherlock Holmes musical was produced.
@@detectivefiction3701 Leslie Bricusse also wrote SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE MUSICAL, which opened in 1988 and starred Ron Moody and Liz Robertson.
use in kfc tvc thaiversion and pizzahut tvc 1998-2000
Aaaah London, the sights, the sounds, the restaurants, the museums, the art galleries, the theatre, Buckin'ham Palace, The Mall, Piccadilly, Leicester Square, Hyde Park, the Houses of Parliament.... The Mosques!!
I loved Seymour growing up and the greatest day in my life was seeing him in person in a parade....just 6 feet from me!!!
Help Petula !!
We never missed the show. Parents let us stay up late. Seymour trying to scam Pizza Fella was always funny.
omg...what a voice...truly..i fall in love ♥♥♥
Great lyrics written and sung in the case of backstreet romeo by soo cat woman, proudly my aunt..
Nice
The one thumbs-down is Moriarty.
great love this
Perché cakkio avete rimosso il film intero??? ESIGGO UNA RISPOSTA IMMEDIATA!!!
Is there no movie/video footage of Seymour?
This is marvelous! Is it possible to ask for the full lyrics...? Or can anyone just kindly tell me what did Bella say immediately before "small surprise that you see such sadness in our eyes"? That bit I keep not getting after looping this for, like, forever.
In that line she says, "...because you prefer us to be subservient fools all drooling for masculine teachers." Hope this helps!
Epic!
Liked and subscribed! Please - record The Ring! (or at least, more of it)
Seymour makes a brief appearance in the new Tarantino film. Thanks Quentin
Reminds me of 20/20
Remember buying my 4992139 from Setchfields in Poole. This is a different version of Career Girls than can be found on the later L.P. on Well Suspect.
Please post more. That Something Extra Special..... Please
Been looking for a song on this album titled “OK JERKO”. Anyone got it to upload?
Awesome blast from the past. Thank you!
Massively underated Punk Band. Love this song
This is wonderful! I have been looking for something like this, and it's weird how there are so few prog rock interpretations of his music
YES!!! Sinister Seymour!! This was great! Prequel to ELVIRA!
