Ah I miss those days, and this jolly old bloke. "TUCK IN!" Captain Birdseye (John Hewer) was like an uncle to the British public, he did so many of these adverts from 1967 to 1998. Things went wrong after this when they started replacing him with 'young, hunky' new versions. Bad idea. They all look too "groomed" to be real fishermen.

That was very interesting, thank you. I've not seen this before. I watched a bit of one episode (new) on tv last night. I'm not into the storyline as I haven't watched anything for years- (I did just turn it off), but if it's written more like east enders, I wouldn't be so enthralled. That show has its place of course, but I wouldn't want to coronation street to lose that charm that Tony Warren first created. He certainly was a gem. Do you need 4 episodes a week? Would think that weakens the whole show by doing too much. + no suspense.

Dude, I remember going to the park the month it opened. There were no lines for anything. The Hulk was utterly insane. I remember getting off the ride with my brother, and running our asses off to get back to the entrance of the ride so we could get on again. It took several minutes simply because of how much ground we had to cover. Later on we learned the lines for the Hulk easily reached 2 hr wait times, so we knew how lucky we were. The dr Seuss ride was cool too, super trippy. Certain parts of the park had a trippy acid feel. I remember us eating at that Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville restaurant, but I later heard they got rid of it. Man, so many memories. And hey, thanks for putting this up and helping jog some beautiful memories!

We have a few 1990s VHS tapes of Only Fools and Horses, that is where saw this private video ad, which is ironic considering what Only Fools and Horses is about.

Used to love watching Barry in the 80s and 90s.The theme music was great too.

I think 2:11 Kevin Keegan said it best, Shankly didn't want to be seen as sickly or in a wheelchair not being able to do anything. I had that happen with my grandmother. She never wanted to be in a nursing home and sadly had a fall and broke her leg and shoulder. It would have been 24/7 nursing home care and yet a stroke and pneumonia took her. She prayed for death and got a quick one.

I remember this advert. My God. Born 1982 so must've been very young indeed when I saw it. I don't remember being scared or creeped out by it all however.
