Nice - good to see another Arctic Leopard in the "wild"! Looks like a fun place to ride! I know this is a year old now, but I was in Moab about a month ago with my EXT800. I plan to head back with my new bike EXE-880 in the fall.
Where can we buy this battery
You can go to voltageadventure.com and call the number listed.
I’ve been riding dirt bikes in dunes for nearly 30 years. Traction in the sand is about how much sand you can throw. Completely different than riding on dirt. You have to think of your tire as a propeller and the sand like a liquid. Forward propulsion is dependent on how much sand you can move the other way. Too large of a propeller and your motor bogs down and you go slow. Too small of a propeller and the motor raps out too quickly and you run out of RPM. The worn tire performing better is no surprise to me. The amount of traction (knobs or paddles) on a tire needs to match the hp/torque the bike can deliver. The rear tire needs to spin as fast as you can get it to go regardless of the speed of the bike. Lower gearing helps the electric motor deliver more torque and prevents the rear tire from slowing down when it bites into the ground.
Very cool, but still take like 6 hours?
Thanks for the comment. A little clarification..... With 2000 watts of solar (which is common with this system) it'll charge our Voltage Adventure battery in 3 hours.
@@voltageadventure9071 ah that’s great!
Noice! Thanks for the great info!
This is the old model Sting, the new 2023 Sting MXr is better and faster than the LBX and has a 60v battery.
How can we buy that fender?
this was the exact kind of extremely thorough walkthrough i was looking for, thank you.
You are so welcome. Thank you for leaving a comment.
So with one would you recommend?
may have already been said, but at 13.28 standard bolt shafts are not precision diameter and often undersized, may be worth replacing the bolt with a precision diameter shoulder bolt
Once an oring chain warms up it performs the same as a non-oring chain. You'd only see a noticeable difference in performance in the cold.
is that the MX3?
Seeing you guys standing next to bikes, did you mention how tall you are. Trying to get an idea of its size im 5' 8". 160 lbs.
In blue 5'6" 145lbs, Bennie about 5'8" 180lbs. Hope that helps!
This video really needs to specify the exact models tested. Maybe it was obvious when the video was new...?
hey man i just bought one of your 66v battery's and the second i turn the bike on the battery immediately shuts off and i have to flip the breaker off and back on and the same thing happens. do you know what could be happening?
Yes this just happens to be user error. I just spoke with the person you purchased it from who did not inform you of the correct installation sequence for your bike to properly jive with the battery. The person you bought it from will be contacting to instruct you soon. Thanks for reaching out.
I really do not like the Gear Oil ? If you bash that motor, your looking at leaks or worse ?? IDK ?? The Sur On is tried and tested while the talaria is still to be determined !
Nice video, thanks for the info. I’m going to try my luck at a non oring chain since I’m about to get a new sprocket… but for the love of god please get a clip on microphone, I can barely hear anything you were saying for pretty much the entire video.
You answered a lot of questions that I was looking for. I really appreciate the three of you and this video. 🏁
I'm glad it helped! We appreciate you commenting.
Racing towards that little kid is pretty stupid
Shiite ONE YEAR AGO!! MX3! vs. Sur-Ron. We need the MX4 vs todays Sur-Ron excellent content subbed and liked and well commented too! Light upgrade for MX4, please. or noticed the rear Sur-Ron shock mud flap, no Talaria flap? Any TECH info is good info. In Comments so many want to be owners are spectators. I did the same until Talaria MX4 arrived. Now the li'l biotch brother arrives 3X for 3k. Now Sur-Rons move. Hope they step it up cuz the MX5 may have the 72 V batt. stock?!?!? Next Summer. hahaha get off the fence and ride. Buy used, buy last years, build BUT Ride!
Taalaria doesn't come with a 48 tooth sprocket
Good info. What size are the talarias spoke lugs?
Amazing details! Thanks!
Should have tested the different chain on the same bike. You testing 2 chains on 2 bikes with 2 different people. Both bikes may not run efficiently the same. Each of you weigh exactly the same?. A more accurate test would be to test both chains on the same bike.
You're right, testing both chains on the same bike would have produced a more definitive result however, at that time we weren't able to make that happen do to time restraints. Aside from it being done on two different (albeit brand new identical bikes) we were sure to have the weights on each bike essentially the same (within 1-2 pounds). Thanks for the comment.
The guy who made this video is an idiot lmao
how long is the talaria
We actually don't have a Talaria in our possession anymore. However someone on a chat group could definitely measure one for you. I would suggest you specify your question a little further like wheel base or overall length. Thanks for the question, sorry we couldn't help.
ummm.....ummm..ummmmm.....ummmmmmm.. I had to stop watching
I'll work on that. Thanks for you comment.
So in conclusion the talaria wins. It I clearly a better bike
Have you ridden the arctic leapord 800 in technical terrain like trials riding? I have seem many hill climb videos and see it does well. Thanks
Great question. Unfortunately all the bikes arrived right when the first snow came. We haven't had the chance to do much technical riding in the mountains due to the weather this winter here in Utah. We really look forward to putting them to the test this spring and summer.
Looking at generalities this was a great video. The platform availabilities byway of mods is currently the major difference for me. Much like the battle between Microsoft and Apple came down to the number of applications available to the two different platforms. Each player (Talaria vs Surron) needs to decide what it wants to specialize in...right now it appears that the players are competing against each other which is often the case when designeers (and engineers) originate from the same company. I'd prefer them pick a specialty.
Awesome. What drone are you flying?
Good question.... it's the Skydio 2+. It does really well. Thanks for commenting.
Do you think it is worth having 2 different seats? Have you ridden the 800 if so is the 10kg difference to the 680 worth it?
Really happy with your video I’m really struggling to figure out which I want Im wanting to upgrade a lot on the bike I think the surron has more options for upgrades? Im 5’6 150 pounds Im really wanting to like the talaria but idkkkk😭
You're the exact same size as me. I prefer the Surron hands down because of quality control and geometry comfort when riding. However, we haven't been on any of the more recent batches of Talaria. Quality control may have been improved since then. 🤷 Glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment. Really appreciate it.
Are you bringing in some Arctic Leopard bikes? Someone mentioned you might be getting some as a dealer. Thanks
Yes we do have several in stock. Our first shipment was several base models and a few of the top models.
Video cut out, how many miles?
Hey thanks for the question. The distance was about 13 miles.
Thanks.
Where’d you get that rear fender?
Utah looking like a nice place to live.
Surron all the way. One should be significantly less expensive. I'm just happy that there are so many awesome new dirt e bikes. Can't wait until fusion batteries hit the market. Lol.
I thought the Talaria was the new advanced and problems fixed version of the surron though? why buy the old model when the new is here?
Just got a 58t warp 9 sprocket, been looking to upgrade the chain after 1800 miles. So I used your code and ordered the X at 112 links, super excited to try them out next week!
you think this is a good sur Ron replacement? thinking of picking up the xt560
We are a distributor for Arctic Leopard. Being the first production year there are some bugs to be worked out, and they will be. That being said It does have much more power than a stock Surron but you will need to have the 40ah battery to have similar range as a stock Surron.
Electric trials bike this looks promising AF!
I put a 54 tooth on my stick bike & it made a big difference, little did I know I could of went with a 58 or 60 tooth . E bikes are different than gas bikes when it comes to gearing. It still. Does 49-50 mph & more torq & im sure better range . & I lost about 1 lb
THAT'S AWESOME! Thanks for posting your experience and results.
You'll lose top speed going to 60 for sure. The only reason you went to 54 and didn't really lose top speed was ciz you also went from the oring chain to a regular chain.
How much bih
gay dudes ride talarias, men ride surrons
Quite the opposite actually
I went straight to speed and power.
Great job on the video, solid good info compared to some of these youngsters review . Holy smokes , some of these kids reviews are horrible & out of touch with specs & clueless. I subscribed.
There is a lot of information out there that is not very worthwhile. Thanks so much for your comments and subscription. It helps us out a lot.
How many links for your 60T sprocket? For non o-ring it was 114 for mine, but it seems like the o-ring & x-ring chains require different lengths?
LeninFPV thanks for the question. As long as you are staying with the same SIZE (not length) chain (420) which is required for a Sur Ron, then it doesn't matter what TYPE of chain (ie...standard, o-ring or x-ring) they will all require the same number of chain links for a given sprocket. Hope this helps. 🤙
@@landonhilton8845 that answers it, thanks! I'll snag a 114 link x-ring. Thanks for the testing!
Reminder that you can purchase a solar adapter that allows you up to 180 watt input. The issue there is that is a pretty small limitation (I have ordered one to test) since most of the solar panels in RV are from 300 to 400 watts (mine if 400). Also, the EGO is about $1300 vs the $2300 for the Lion.
I was ready to buy a Surron but with all this info , definitely I will consider the telaria
what were the factors for you? Curious because I just bought two surrons and I am still feeling pretty good about it after this video...although I am waiting on shipping and it feels like forever
Good data. Still thinking Surron because they are more established.
Gooooood job! Thx
