Heat the pads on a flame till they stop smoking... gets all the contamination out of the pad and clean the disc with soapy water..then brake clean... works a lot better than sandpaper ❤😊

And then you find the piston is leaking fluid all over the pads. Better way is to get rid of the shimano junk and put some real brakes on there.

Alternatively you can skip the cleaner and just use a blowtorch for 30-60 seconds. The pads will easily withstand that and every liquid contamination + surface buildup will burn and fall off. A light 200grit sanding doesnt hurt tho. I did that to my front and back brakes 1.5 years ago and they havent squeaked a single time since then.

Yup hit it with the brake clean, rub em on the sidewalk for a minute, brake clean again. If that didn’t work it’s new pads for like $10

You dont need to dry it out if you use disc brake cleaner cuz it evaporates

Well, the best thing is just spray the pad with canned brake cleaner, and use clean towel to scratch the dirt, if you sand it you just flatten the pad and make the pad surface need time again to resonate with the disk surface

Clean the disc. Put new pads in. Saves alot of work, and the breaks don't squik anymore. Only push the break pistons back with break pads in. If break noise returns, you have a oil leak in the pistons.

Why did they first tighten the axle to the full on the right (from the side of the drive star) and not on the left and on the opposite side? It seems so right...
