Where was this and when?

This is music at it's best
best #41 version ever...so sad this is not HD
Tim Reynolds is good, but the way that Mayer and Trey get Carter absolutely ripping to end the solos is so so magic
Dave and Jimmy page have same birthdays! Neat fact, my daughter and i share our day with Jerry!!!,Aug 1st
A beautiful John Mayer tune that is one of my faves because he’s singing about dreaming and waking to reality. Ethereal. I love it. I love him
Whoa!! ❤
I love Dave, I love Mayer, I love this song, but I feel like John's solo just doesn't quite hit the right vibe for #41. It seems like it should have more of a mysterious wandering meandering tone vs this bluesy rock tone. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the Tim Reynold's parts. John rocks it too hard...should have leaned more into a more ethereal type tone. He kind of got there at the end, but I feel like he didn't quite understand the song overall.
Came straight here after Dead & Co. brought Dave on stage in Boulder
Me too. Fab musicians
I kept feeling like he was going to overstay his welcome or get lost but he just kept absolutely killing it. Incredible guitar playing that fit a whole other universe/band/style of music to a T.
i'm the biggest john mayer fan and I just cannot get over how fucking killer this was. Some of the best playing I've heard out of him ever. and that's obviously saying something.
Being able to open a show like that, with the intro to belief, is kind of a cheat code.
How have I never seen or even heard of this before today?!? That was outstanding. Thanks for uploading this!
10-2-07 I was there!! It was awesome!!
Holy shittttt I though I knew every JM solo.. this one is AWESOME !! So groovy
What year is this, 06 or 07? They got roi but no tim
Good Lord……
Watching them get ready is like waiting for orgasm
I’d like to see/hear John recreate that with the guitar he’s using now. Wouldn’t happen. No way!
LeRoi 💔 That caught me off guard
I would lose my shit if I was there
John killed it with dead and friends too. Dude can jam
Yanks are so static when it comes to gigs man 😅
Looks like 80% female watching John Mayer. Yeah, it’s overwhelming emotional 😭. Move and they will be pissed.
Its a ballad Einstein
Ja
I need a jam session with DMB and John Mayer this summer. Possibly some fancy cookies too. Go Big.
I literally listen to this about 3-4 times a week lol. Hands down the best live version of #41
Listen to the one with Bela fleck (32 minutes)
Wonder what gear Mayer used…
I'm glad they're doing it together.
This is New Jersey. Get your facts straight.
I'd love to see Tim and John do a show together
Feb 2022
how is there no HD version of this!!!
This song to me is the perfect representation of life. "Come and See" You are born into the world and you go out and see new things .new ideas. New concepts cultures people etc.. U grow up and u know time is playing a game that u will lose. But you have known happiness before. And you know troubles will always come like it has before Then at some point you meet your specialsomeone that touches your soul but that youve lost... I think we all have that one person.. A young love or maybe a parent or sibling that passed away. And you know they wont come back But truly and undoubtedly you wanted to spend one more sec together You wanted to stay And feel good again like when you were young You wanted to play You wanted to keep feeling that motivation and passion that love comes with You wanted to love again . But u cant love the same again.. Not how it was when u were young And though u always believed there was a chance to get get back together It wont happen and u have to keep moving forward Then i think the second part of the lyrics he is talking to himself. He knows good times will come But he cant believe anymore Its not the same He tells himself he will wake up And bring himself water And dance in the rain and let the water splash his face And feel how he did when he was young. The solo parts speak way more volumes Than the actual lyrics. I think they simplify life adequately . It starts slow then crises and rises to a climax Then another instrument comes in and u go higher to a zenith. And then then chorus or melody from the beginning comes back and u feel happy af again . but then it starts to slow down... And in life u come to a point where youre like Wow.. I lived SUCH A HAPPY LIFE amd Such A SAD LIFE too..and honestly its perfect that way. U remember the good times the climaxes of life amd the song but in this time u learn to appreciate the falling action of life or getting old. The slow part of the song amd its soothing and its just what u need after Such amazing moments. But you keep going slowly and peacefully Playing notes very slowly yet soothing An opposite to the beginning of your life.. Magical.. Piano.. Stairs.. Then you stop... This song is an oddysey Thanks
You can tell Carter and John wanted to Jam for hours. And they could have. Gimme 2 hours of this song with John on it and it’s worth the price of admission.
amazing...
I would have died. Two of the GOATS singing THIS song. Too much magic.
wonderfull
His live performances are special
Only think that is close is #41 with Victor Wooton!
Everything knows what's the name of the song? that is starting in the concert
John Mayer is probably the most talented guitar player ever
Not even top 10.
@@ckmckeon you've not listened to a lot of his stuff then because I swear he deserves a spot, if you're interested in listening I have a few recommendations!
He's great, but top 10, no. Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, mark Knoplfer, jimmy page, Joe satriani, Eddie van Halen, bb king, Duane Allman, George Harrison, probably some more you could throw in there.

@@mully8081don’t look at the most recent list from rolling stone. You’ll be pissed. They missed the mark on a bunch you listed there.
John is probably the best guitarist ever I’m not joking I’m a musician he does no wrong. It’s insane A true virtuoso in every meaning of the word.
The "Body is a Wonderland" guy now plays with the Grateful Dead. Who'da thunk? 🐐
@@bigoshify when was that?
Currently..
@@bigoshify didn’t the Grateful Dead disband decades ago?
they will steal your face
One of the sickest solos ever
I believe I was at this concert - Hollywood Bowl sometime around the end of GW Bush/beginning of Obama - don’t think there was any other show with JM. In hindsight, if they would have known that John Mayer would end up submitting applications to join a tour heavy jam band, I wish Dave would have added him rather than Timmy .... I like him and all, but it would be cool to mix in a little “Slow Dancing ....” or “Covered in Rain” with all the DMB regulars. Plus Watchtower gets better and maybe bookends JMs own Hendrix covers
Nice 👍 what year is this from?
I’d say 2009-ish
Around Mid 2007
@@suriyaap5011 you are right
omfg
I’m campaigning for these two to tour together. Grateful Dead is great but this is epic!
I just noticed Randy Jackson at 20:07
