Packing for Motorcycle Camping/Touring on a Yamaha FZ6 **No Side Bags**
zhlédnutí 23KPřed 8 lety
A complete overview of what I pack and how I pack it on the bike for motorcycle trips long and short! I use three main bags and am able to fit enough survival gear to allow me to eat, sleep, and survive (comfortably) really nearly anywhere.
'79 Honda CM185 Twinstar Bobber Project Ride
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 8 lety
Riding and reviewing my custom '79 Honda CM185 Twinstar. I spent almost 2 years breaking this down and rebuilding it with my own styling, she rides nice now! Still has some more power to unlock with some jet work, but I'm happy for the most part. This was my first tear-down and build project.
1979 Honda CM185 Twinstar Custom Bobber Project
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 8 lety
This is, or was, a 1979 Honda CM185T, one of the most boring bikes in history. I tore it down and revamped it with my own touches and taste. Big mods include a white powder coat job, new exhaust, bored over engine, and a gas tank professionaly painted originally off a 70's era Suzuki dirtbike
2009 Yamaha FZ6 Ride and Review
zhlédnutí 168KPřed 9 lety
Riding and reviewing my 2009 Yamaha FZ6-S2. I've owned the bike for 3 full riding seasons now and put nearly 48,000 km on it so far. I love the versatility and ability to hit multiple types of riding. Stock suspension needs work and the fueling is quite choppy when your on and off the throttle high in the rev range. Most of my mods are for comfort and touring; hyperlites and HVMP bar ends are t...
2016 BMW R1200RS Keyless Ride and Alarm System
zhlédnutí 77KPřed 9 lety
Just an overview of the keyless ride and alarm system on the 2016 BMW R1200RS. Pretty intuitive system, I later learned the bike was setup to make noise, it needed to be knocked off the center stand to actually activate it.
2015 Yamaha FZ 07 Ride and Review
zhlédnutí 38KPřed 9 lety
Taking my little brothers new 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 for a spin. I loved the weight and maneuverability. Engine was predictable and gave some decent power, enough to lift the front end with a quick pop of the throttle. Higher quality controls, ABS, different throttle settings, and an analog tach would all be nice improvements. Any questions post them in the comments!
2016 BMW R1200RS Ride, review, and walk around
zhlédnutí 77KPřed 9 lety
Riding and reviewing the 2016 R1200RS, my dad picked this up last week. From what we can tell its the first one delivered in Ontario. I go for a ride then do a walk around. My first review so its a bit rambly but hopefully gets the point across. What I like: Power from the engine Braking power Electronic suspension adjustment and throttle adjustments on the fly Comfort of riding position and se...
Part of adventuring. Glad your not hurt
great job on the build! i currently working on my barn find. i'd like to run a clean and tight look with the lights but most of the parts i've found are LED. how hard was it to run that 12V power pack?
Fz6 owner watching years later. Part way through I realized you were in my home town.
check the stock paper air filter if it didnt get su cked into the motor(been their)😑
Is there any way to tell where the water crossing are on the MABDR? That would be really useful for trip planning if you're trying to build some experience and not quite ready to tackle something like this.

Just curious what road you're riding on? I'm about 5'8" would I fit on that bike?
when i ride with my bike boots i allways keep thinking i have damaged the gearbox because it feels so clunky
I don't know for sure because I'm a new rider but wouldn't you have to go slow while standing up so you could look for any big rocks in the water. Going to fast making a wake you can't see anything.
I don't mind the clunky transmission on mine. Reminds me of my Harley 😂
Maybe less stuff on your bike or a smaller bike.
Any water intake?
Nice! You over pack just like me lol
I know the cool people ride GS's. I'll stay unpopular on my DR650 and not get wet....lol. Anyhow, you two are out adventuring and exploring. I will never knock that
I’m with you my klr is just fine
Where is the top box rack from? Thanks for the video.
Nice work. Sorry , but those look dorky unless you modify that rear frame. They look much better if you drop that seat and move the upper shock mounts forward.
Sweet looking bike, and really nice color!
how did you remount your choke at the left of the handlebars? and where did you install your key?
I made a new bracket to hold it, some aluminum flatstock bent up and clamped in the handlebar bolts I think. I removed the keyed ignition and installed a hidden switch inside the frame, reachable from the underside. Was easy as I rebuilt the wiring harness from scratch.
Send It!
BATTERY KEEPS GOING DEAD SINCE I LEFT KEP FOB IN WASHING MACHINE! WHAT NOW?
Why did the guy ask if he wanted his buddy to get on. Maybe he shouldn't be on a bike of that caliber if he doesn't know how to ride it.
He was on the wrong side of the bike to get it out of gear and he was the onr on the clutch. Not to kention the wrong side to mount in the water. Also dude just went down in a creek probably needed a second to compare himself
Is that from the water Crossing where the bike dropped?
I can't imagine doing that on such a heavy and exspensive bike. I'm doing the MABDR on my DR650 later this year once I get back from my cross country trip. Good video, thanks for posting.
Yes the DR is a much more capable machine for that type of terrain
I prefer clunky gearbox, harder to miss the gear
I picked up the 2009 FZ6N S2 ... my first 4 cylinder .. never going back to twin or single cylinder ever.
Ever!? I kinda like the R7, I think I’ll get one used after they’ve been on the market for a bit. The 270 Crank sounds pretty amazing with a full system exhaust, and a with a good tune they produce a lot of torque. 140MPH is pretty fast.
looked like a bump pushed the front end up, so he was hitting a large slippery rock and it messed with his weight, he was going down no matter what, taking that line, IMO
i have a 2008 FZ6S2 ABS. if the rpm stays 4000 and below, the power is pretty tame... my country, Singapore have speed limits of 50-60kmh on non highway roads and 80-90kmh on our highways. i cant really ride above 5k rpm unless i drag the gears.
Still riding your fz6, bro? I'm considering getting one. Getting too expensive here in our country to buy new bikes.
Hi....It`s a nice bike, have fun with it,but....2009 is not the last year when they made it...I have one from 2010:)
Did you get a kit for your starter delete?
No, I removed it and all the gears, then made mounts to move the coil pack there
Where is this? I just completed the BDR, but with skipping some green, blue and red. Did not encounter this. Just got home completing section 3, 2, 1 (did in reverse order).
Building one now and in stuck in doing the wire harness from bare bones also kickstart only any tips?
These rocky creeks and rivers are where good trials (not trails) skills come in handy. I'd suggest watching some vids on trials and practicing balance and other techniques. It's not easy with all that cargo weight, but it can be done.
Typically it will work if it's in the side case. Also, on the RS and the R the key is also used to lockdown the GPS unit if you have one. I have the 2016 R1200R for fun in the twisties, and a 2020 R1250RT for tour riding. Tremendous differences in the functions of the fob in just 4 short years. For those folks that are always worried they might lose the fob, which is a problem for folks that stuff it in their pockets, instead, put the fob on a lanyard. Wear it around your neck, and when you get home, just take it off, and store it with the house key. This way it will never get lost. Never accidentally go through the washing machine, never be stolen from you etc, what ever other horrible thing you might consider. Anyway, great video!
good times
Mine is the 2009 version with ABS, bought it new in 2014. Pretty good motorcycle, only drawback is being ugly when you put top case. When you it the fuel reserve the odometer also says how many kilometers you made on reserve, and you can get it to show the air intake temperature.
Sold mine about 3 years ago. Great bike. Looking at the mt09 now
Where did you get the air filter
I think it was ebay... it was like 8 years ago now
And the power pack?
What about to S shaped intake hose?
@@ShineyPenny87 That's the stock hose, removed from the original airbox
@@kennethhernandez963 ebay, non name chinese made
Could happen to anyone! I typically store all my electronics in waterproof bags before doing any real crossings. I've had a few pucker moments and even had one of my bikes completely submerged when I dropped it because the water was so deep!
Nice review from another Ontario FZ6 owner. Been from the Cabot Trail NS. to Jasper AB. on mine. I test ride every bike I can and nothing so far makes me want to give up my FZ6. Love that bike!
I have done that too!!!!
Considering the bike, but really concerned about a more forward sport position vs a upright touring position. Can you comment on that? Any wrist pain? I want to be able to ride up to 4 hour with no discomfort. Thanks!
These bikes still have balls too
500 mile a day, you're a hero on one of these! I find my fz6 too physically small (I'm 6'1") and too buzzy, 85mph is 7,000rpm. Gonna need a gel seat and bigger front sprock. BTW, I've bought one since I asked my 1st question and disagree on mpg . Mine does around 54 UK mpg.
For the guys who experience vibratiion at the front make sure your front wheel is balanced it may make all the diff
What section is this?
Typical bmw rider lol
Can you change the speedo from kms to miles? How many miles to gallon or l/100km does it do and how long does a rear tyre last, driving slow? Thanks!
Sieht echt scheiße aus
Loved mine these videos making me want another one
Cool vid man! Thanks for sharing...are the pipes stock or are they original without the baffling? Thanks
