18" speaker for Doom? Celestion G18 Greenback Circa 1970
Quick jam on the 18" Pre Rola Pulsonic cone Greenback! These old speakers sound great, and not just for Doom. Rated at 100 watts, it sounds bigger than a quad of greenbacks and is alot easier on the wallet. This one is loaded into a custom Sourmash Plexi style 1x18, tall like the old Hendrix cabs. Amp is a 1975 Marshall JMP 2098, boosted by an OCD clone, bridge p90 pickup used here, C# tuning.

Made in England circa 1975, JMP model 2098 and to my knowledge the first master volume head, as well as having an effects loop. Amazing track off of the hugely underrated Never Say Die! album. Bill did a fantastic job on the vocals, and Iommi had some killer riffs in this one, damn shame they never played it live.... This is the best version of “The four horsemen”, that Kirk Hammet’s solo is amazing so melodic and beautiful, and it sounds so cool the change of tempo during this solo. This song represents two solos of two great metal guitarists- Kirk Hammet in the middle, Dave Mustain in the end so this duet of solos is so amazing, I don’t understand why Metallica in their farther years and shows have removed Kirk’s solo from the program! Dave Mustain’s solo in the end is also great, but two solos are better than one.
No satanic imagery, no blood, no goats heads, no upside down crosses and 666 everywhere, or stupid corpse paint, just, bullet belts, ripped up denim, and sick ass Flying V guitars. Metal isn’t about religion, it’s about expression. And these guys weren’t devil worshippers, they were just a bunch of gnarly punk rock skater dudes wanting to make sick music for sick people. Love young Metallica!
Nice job on this, i give ya props on deciphering something dave did because i feel like he’s all over the place with his metallica solos. Im just not a fan of his solos on early metallica material, hearing seek & destroy without that descending run kirk added or any of the other changes he made to it and the others is weird.

@@orokusaki8291when i got into them kill em all and ride the lightning were the first things i got and it was a long time before i had heard any demos with dave. Even growing up watching cliff em all the only dave solo that I would’ve heard was in the club footage of them doing whiplash with him.

The trick is to tap quickly, fairly hard but don't press the string down or it will kill the harmonic ringing out. Hope that helps!

Hey thanks for the kind words! Improvising is something I'm always working on, it's one of those things that the more you do it, the easier it gets. One thing I found that's helpful is learning different licks from different players. If you learn a bunch of different licks like that, eventually you'll have your own sound. Hey! On this video it was a John Birch Magnum R pickup in the bridge. Also a Mojo Pickups Uk rod magnet p90 in the neck and a Kent Armstrong Stealth 90 in the middle, but they weren't used on this track.
