My hospital told me to push on side then on back but hold legs near face myself. I think that's better and give you control. I had bad back labour from start to end so on legs would have been too difficult. Especially since i pushed for 3 hours still had to use instrument, so cut and stitches.

I gave birth on 7 this month. Sometimes no matter what you do. Fate has other plans. Because of her position my baby was born with instrument so i had to get cut and stitches.

This video was very helpful, as I'm due in 3 weeks and my doctor doesn't seem to be very receptive of non-traditional positions, but I think I can suggest certain compromises that I've seen here so we can both be more comfortable.

I can't stand the thought of being in L&D never have I felt I had any say to listen to my body while in labor. Working in L&D I have only observed one facility allow an actual birthing plan....I am seriously thinking of just staying home. In addition I don't want an IV, Foley, ice chips. I want to be able to get on the floor and sit on my knees lay over the couch extra, squat without a bed under me. No vaccines for baby circumcision done with my Rabbi. The system discriminates against people that don't follow its "Recommendations" more often than not. Even calling CPS on people for not wanting to vaccinate. Working in L&d and OR ten last 20 years I have only seen 1 maybe 2 real emergencies. Every C-section I have seen primarily was out of impatient people pushing out hard and fast. Every near death experience was because of a small incision/intervention. Almost always rooted in no patience. I just can't even believe pitocin comes close to measuring up to oxytocin.

Wow what a great video! With my last baby number 5 I was TOLAC. My first was a vaginal birth. 2nd cesarean because baby was breech. 3rd was VBAC. 4th was VBAC. I didn't do anything to prepare for baby 5 but pray and try to enjoy to the very end and I figured it would go smoothly because I already had 2 VBACs. Boy was I wrong. I went 41 weeks and no water in my sac trying to wait for this baby. I did everything except that labor drink to put myself in labor and my body would just not contract. I also didn't walk as much through pregnancy I don't know if that had something to do with it. I was devastated when my induction failed and thought maybe I should just do C-section. Even though I already had vaginal births, I still felt very very sad that she didn't come that way. At this time I had 4 toddlers and I thought how I'm I going to get through the healing process because my husband couldn't take much time off. But praise YHWH that He got me through it all. I think I didn't do enough to prepare myself. I also absolutely hate the epidurals just side note. And now I am pregnant with baby number 6, we are praying for a boy. I feel soo sooo soooooo nervous about labor and delivery. I don't want to do cesarean and I'm scared for some reason thinking of TOLAC. But I Praise Yah that He is with us. Thank you for the story.

Update: God's miracle happened to me! I gave birth after two cesareans in the hospital exactly as I wanted, taking into account my birth plan. I had SWEEP on 40w4days ( according to early scan), after it I drunk on empty stomach a German Midwife brew ( with castor oil). While labour I was in complete self-control, the contractions were strong and frequent, I immediately instinctively did what my body required no matter what :), I stood in positions that made the contractions easier, I made sounds (it was loud, but so helpful), I discovered a homeopathic childbirth kit, I learned well the childbirth homeopathic remedies, so it was easy for me intuitively to use it in my real childbirth, It really worked. I understood and accepted every moment of this amazing physiological process, "birth surfing", no medical pain relief, without medical interventions, no complications, no tears (small lacerations due to the ring of fire, I felt it when I went to the toilet for the first time, it heals alone in 1 to 2 days :)), aromatherapy, fully enjoyed the pauses between contractions, such bliss, even if only a minute or less, my cervix dilated from 2 cm very quickly unexpectedly for me❤, my body + mind and my baby, with the help of the Almighty, worked perfectly as a team with love, my mind was my strength, I laughed, I thanked the Creator, there was euphoria, even though the contractions were stormy 😅❤, they helped me give birth to a healthy baby, I gave birth standing, my legs moved correctly intuitively (to open outlet), my sweet little son just followed fetal ejection reflex. I delivered placenta without medical intervention ( just standing, laughing, with my baby on my chest), the golden hour - after birth, attached to baby umbilical cord with placenta, baby - skin to skin. My husband cut the umbilical cord in 1h of placental birth. I took it home to bury it. I thank the Doctor very much who did not refused my request for VBAC-2, like others (“this is impossible and dangerous,” said some "old fashioned" conservative doctors , without considering my case individually). The birth itself went quickly, to my surprise, I thought I must “endure” another 7 hours of swimming on steep waves, but it turned out to be only 2 hours that flew by unnoticed ❤ I wish all Women an easy natural birth, specially after ceaserean sections. It is very intensive experience, but you can do it ( individual consideration), because it is physiological process. It has " pain" ( intense, very intense tightening ), but in the same time a restful moments full of bliss ( natural endorphins).

I dream to feel a real labour surges spontaneously like a one of biggest blessings after all this sufferings...I dream to have an unmedicated VBA2C ( I'll do it in hospital, at home it seems risky for " emergency situation " ( may God protects me, my baby and another women in similar situations from it)...I'm 39 weeks and 3 days. I have only swee💖t regular Braxton hicks, such pleasure 😭. I really wish that my VBAC-2 starts harmonically with regular contractions ( PROM is not good, or mucus plug is not always seen and can fell out while labour process).

How many weeks you were when the labour ( of VBAC-2) started spontaneously? I'm 39 weeks 3 days and I'm preparing for VBAC-2 how I'm able in my conditions and as you told another part is in a Lord hands 🙏 I denied a vaginal examination and SWEEP on 38th week. I was not ready for it. Did you made a SWEEP?

Thank you, Had no idea squats were bad. I saw a chiropractor as recommended by spinning babies and she put squats on the exercise plan! I did flip my transverse baby but he ended up sunny side up too so had emergency c after 40h contractions ☹️ hoping for a vbac if I ever get pregnant again 🙏

What is something that you can tell your pregnant that’s not a symptom that your about to start your period?

I was told I couldn't have my partner with me on my first appointment :( no one is allowed with me on the first appointment and I'm quite nervous due to this.
